St. John XXIII College Preparatory, formerly Pope John XXIII High School, is a Catholic independent, non-profit, coeducational, private day school in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, United States, near Katy. The school serves grades 9–12. The academic year consists of two semesters extending from approximately August to December and January to May. Student leadership development through the Works of Mercy program is a distinct characteristic of the school, and leadership principles are integrated into every course at St. John XXIII. 'SJ23' is accredited by/a member of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston (RCAGH), led by Archbishop Daniel DiNardo. SJ23 is also the newest private day school in the Katy area for over fifty years, effective 2004. It is located at 1800 West Grand Parkway North. The principal is Joseph Noonan .

The school first began in 1982.With 623 students and an annual budget of over $6 million, it was, circa 2001, one of the ten largest private schools in the greater Houston, Katy area.Alumni include Ted Cruz, the junior United States senator from Texas, who attended but did not graduate from the school.

Forbidden Gardens (simplified Chinese: 紫禁花园; traditional Chinese: 紫禁花園 ) was an outdoor museum of Chinese culture and history located on Texas Highway 99 and Franz Road in northern Katy, Greater Houston, Texas, United States. The museum was funded and opened by businessman Ira Poon in 1996. Forbidden Gardens closed its doors in 2011.

Katy Mills is a shopping mall in Katy, Texas, within the Houston metropolitan area, gradually growing into a premier tourist destination on the west side of Houston. It was developed by The Mills Corporation and is now managed by Simon Property Group, who owns 62.5% of it. The mall opened on October 28, 1999 and hosted a variety of over 174 stores. Katy Mills has about 1.3 million square feet (0.12 km2) of retail space.

The Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad services commenced railway operations in 1894 and diminished the rail transport service by 1957 for the connection junction at Katy, Texas. In 2005, the MKT Railroad Museum was relocated to the first street address in Katy, Texas.

Katy is a city in the U.S. state of Texas. It is the Greater Katy area, itself forming the western part of the Greater Houston metropolitan area. Today, Katy lies at the center of a broader area known as Greater Katy, which has become heavily urbanized.While largely subsumed into Greater Houston, the town of Katy is still notable for Katy Mills Mall, Katy High School's football dominance (8 state-championships), and its historic town square along the former right-of-way of the MKT railroad.

The school was renamed in 2006. It has three campuses, two of which serve a portion of the Katy Independent School District area, and the remaining one the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District area.

Hoffpauir Airport (FAA LID: 59TE) was an airport in an unincorporated area of Harris County, Texas in the United States. It was located east of the city of Katy and west of the city of Houston. The owner was Stanley C. Hoffpauir. A portion of the runway had an apartment complex built on it in early 2012, ending use of the airport.

The B. Ray and Charlotte Woods House is a historic house in Katy, Texas, U.S.. It was built in 1951 for Ray Woods, the owner of a lumberyard. It was designed in the ranch-style architectural style by Wylie W. Vale. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since January 6, 2004. In 2007, it was owned by Hill Adams, who served on Katy's city council. During a site visit in August 2020, the house was observed to have been destroyed.

Cinco Ranch High School (CRHS) is a public school located in an unincorporated area in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States that serves grades 9 through 12 as part of the Katy Independent School District. It is located off Cinco Ranch Boulevard within the community of Cinco Ranch; it is in the Cinco Ranch census-designated place. The school opened in 1999. The principal is Dr. Kaye Williams. The school was rated the 3rd best high school in 2007 tied with Clements High School in the Houston region by the Houston Chronicle. In 2010, Cinco Ranch High School was ranked 478th out of America's top 2,000 public high schools.The school was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2008.
