St. John XXIII College Preparatory, formerly Pope John XXIII High School, is a Catholic independent, non-profit, coeducational, private day school in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, United States, near Katy. The school serves grades 9–12. The academic year consists of two semesters extending from approximately August to December and January to May. Student leadership development through the Works of Mercy program is a distinct characteristic of the school, and leadership principles are integrated into every course at St. John XXIII. 'SJ23' is accredited by/a member of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston (RCAGH), led by Archbishop Daniel DiNardo. SJ23 is also the newest private day school in the Katy area for over fifty years, effective 2004. It is located at 1800 West Grand Parkway North. The principal is Joseph Noonan .

Faith West Academy is a non-denominational, coeducational, private Christian school with grades preschool-12 with boarding facilities, located in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, near Katy. The school first began in 1982.With 623 students and an annual budget of over $6 million, it was, circa 2001, one of the ten largest private schools in the greater Houston, Katy area.Alumni include Ted Cruz, the junior United States senator from Texas, who attended but did not graduate from the school.

Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital is a hospital in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, near Katy and in Greater Houston. It is a part of the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. Pediatric care to the hospital is provided by doctors from Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital which treats infants, children, teens, and young adults age 0-21.

Hoffpauir Airport (FAA LID: 59TE) was an airport in an unincorporated area of Harris County, Texas in the United States. It was located east of the city of Katy and west of the city of Houston. The owner was Stanley C. Hoffpauir. A portion of the runway had an apartment complex built on it in early 2012, ending use of the airport.

Morton Ranch High School is a secondary school in the Katy Independent School District. It opened in 2004, and is located in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, United States. It is part of a multi-school complex, including Morton Ranch Elementary that opened in 2008 and Morton Ranch Junior High School that opened in 2003. The school serves many northern sections of Katy I.S.D., and has grades 9 through 12. The mascot is a Maverick.

Patricia E. Paetow High School (PHS) is a senior high school in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, in Greater Katy. It is a part of the Katy Independent School District. The school opened in August 2017 to 9th and 10th grade students, relieving Katy High School and Morton Ranch High School. The more than 635,000-square-foot (59,000 m2) building, with a capacity of 3,000, has three stories. On December 17, 2020, Paetow’s football team had their season cut short due to Covid-19 Outbreak. On December 17, 2021, Paetow won the UIL Football Conference 5A Division 1 State Championship.

The British International School of Houston (BISH), formerly the British School of Houston (BSOH), is a non-sectarian, co-educational college preparatory day school in the Greater Katy region of the Houston area. BISH, which opened in September 2000, offers education for ages 3 to 18 (UK Nursery to Year 13/US Pre-K to Grade 12). The British International School of Houston is a part of Nord Anglia Education; previously it was operated by the British Schools of America. It moved to its current campus in fall 2016, and was previously in northwest Houston.

Cimarron is an unincorporated community in Harris County, Texas, United States. It lies 40 km west of the heart of Houston, and six km southeast of Katy, at an elevation of 125 ft (38 m).

Katy Mills is a shopping mall in Katy, Texas, within the Houston metropolitan area, gradually growing into a premier tourist destination on the west side of Houston. It was developed by The Mills Corporation and is now managed by Simon Property Group, who owns 62.5% of it. The mall opened on October 28, 1999 and hosted a variety of over 174 stores. Katy Mills has about 1.3 million square feet (0.12 km2) of retail space.

Aristoi Classical Academy is a K-12 open-enrollment public charter school based in Katy, Texas. The school originally opened in 1996 and was then called West Houston Charter School. The school was renamed in 2006. It has three campuses, two of which serve a portion of the Katy Independent School District area, and the remaining one the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District area.

Mirus Academy is a private school high school located in Katy, Texas in the United States of America. The school serves the City of Katy, Texas and Greater Houston area.

Katy is a city in the U.S. state of Texas. It is the Greater Katy area, itself forming the western part of the Greater Houston metropolitan area. Homes and businesses may have Katy postal addresses without being in the City of Katy. The city of Katy is approximately centered at the tripoint of Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller counties. Katy had a population of 21,894 at the 2020 U.S. census, up from 14,102 in 2010. First formally settled in the mid-1890s, Katy was a railroad town along the Missouri–Kansas–Texas (MKT) Railroad which ran parallel to U.S. Route 90 (today Interstate 10) into downtown Houston. Katy obtained its name when the MKT Railroad dropped its Missouri waypoint and the junction became known as the KT stop. The fertile floodplain of Buffalo Bayou, which has its source near Katy, and its tributaries made Katy and other communities in the surrounding prairie an attractive location for rice farming. Beginning in the 1960s, the rapid growth of Houston moved westward along the new Interstate 10 corridor, bringing Katy into its environs. Today, Katy lies at the center of a broader area known as Greater Katy, which has become heavily urbanized.While largely subsumed into Greater Houston, the town of Katy is still notable for Katy Mills Mall, Katy High School's football dominance (8 state-championships), and its historic town square along the former right-of-way of the MKT railroad.
