Meikle Wartle is a small rural village in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is around 7 miles north of Inverurie. Local facilities include a village hall dating from 1888 (rebuilt in 2000), a garage and general store, a B&B and a public house. There is also a country house nearby, by the name of Wardhill Castle, owned by the Leslie clan and now run as a bed and breakfast. The village consists of a few older buildings surrounded by several newer buildings, and a housing estate built in 2008 and finished in 2016. The village is in the catchment area for Rayne North, a small school which consists of 3 classes and around 70 pupils.

Loanhead of Daviot stone circle is a recumbent stone circle in Aberdeenshire in lowland northeast Scotland. The circle consists of the recumbent stone with its flankers and a complete set of eight orthostats about 21 metres (69 ft) in diameter surrounding a low kerbed ring cairn which has an open court. However, the present appearance has in part been produced by substantial restoration after archaeological excavation in 1934, and in 1989 by the removal of the stones covering the central court. The recumbent setting is at the south-south-west of the circle but the recumbent stone itself is angled somewhat towards the south. Immediately to the east-south-east is a cremation cemetery approximately contemporary with the circle.

Wartle railway station was a railway station that served local farms and the nearby hamlet of Meikle Wartle, Aberdeenshire. It was opened in 1857 by the Banff, Macduff and Turriff Junction Railway, later part of the Great North of Scotland Railway, then the LNER and finally British Railways, on the 29+3⁄4-mile (47.9 km) long branchline from Inveramsay to Macduff. The station closed to regular passenger services in 1951 and to goods traffic in 1964.

Daviot (Gaelic: Deimhidh) is a village in Aberdeenshire, 4 miles from the busy town of Inverurie. It is the birthplace of theologian William Robinson Clark. Daviot has one of the best examples of Neolithic stone circles in the north east of Scotland, Loanhead of Daviot stone circle, which comprises 10 stones plus one recumbent stone. Other interesting features are the House of Daviot, a disused old people's home recently bought and refurbished privately, a Schlumberger explosives facility (on a nearby hill), and the first GM crop field in Scotland. In Daviot there is also a pub (The Smiddy Bar).

Mounie Castle stands in its grounds in the village of Daviot, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is a Category A listed building. It was built by Robert Farquhar, lord provost of Aberdeen, between 1641 and 1644.In 1701 it was owned by Alex Hay of Arnbath. George Seton lived there in 1714. He was a descendent of the Setons of Meldrum, the original owners.

Inveramsay railway station was a railway station in the parish of Chapel of Garioch, near the Mill of Inveramsay, Aberdeenshire. It served the sparsely populated rural area, but was mainly an interchange for the Macduff and Banff branch lines.

Pitcaple railway station is a former railway station in Aberdeenshire. It opened on 20 September 1854, and closed down on 6 May 1968. It was part of the Great North of Scotland Railway.

The Inveramsay Bridge is a new bridge carrying the A96 over the Aberdeen to Inverness Line. The bridge was constructed by Balfour Beatty. It was inaugurated in March 2016. The existing bridge has a 4.4 metre height restriction and cannot fit two tall vehicles under it because of the arch which goes under 3.7 metres high in places so traffic lights were put in place so only one row of vehicles could go under the bridge at once, the traffic lights caused bad congestion at rush hour. For decades this bottleneck was a major problem in the North East's infrastructure with delays being caused on both the A96 and the Aberdeen to Inverness Line, caused by the speed limits imposed on the line following any HGV colliding the bridge, until the bridge could be inspected by a structural engineer. Despite this there was no political will from the three main UK parties (Conservative Party, Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats) all of whom had been in power in Westminster and/or Holyrood, it was not until the Scottish National Party (SNP) were in power that local MSP, Alex Salmond then First Minister and Keith Brown then Minister for Transport and Veterans announced on 10 February 2011 that tenders for design works to upgrade the Inveramsay Bridge have been given the go-ahead. There are 1.5 kilometres of new road leading to the bridge. SuDS is in place at either end of the new part of the A96 leading to the bridge. The old bridge is still usable for local access. There is an underpass on the A96 to the south of the bridge which connects the old A96 to Inveramsay.

Pitcaple (Scottish Gaelic: Baile Chapaill) is a hamlet in Aberdeenshire, Scotland on the River Urie 4 miles (6 km) northwest of Inverurie. Nearby Pitcaple Castle is a 17th-century country house which was restored by William Burn in 1830. It was built close to the remains of a 15th-century tower house. There is a disused railway station.

Balquhain, also known as Balquhain Stone Circle, is a recumbent stone circle 3 miles (4.8 km) from Inverurie in Scotland. It is a scheduled ancient monument.

The Battle of Harlaw (Scottish Gaelic: Cath Gairbheach) was a Scottish clan battle fought on 24 July 1411 just north of Inverurie in Aberdeenshire. It was one of a series of battles fought during the Middle Ages between the barons of northeast Scotland against those from the west coast. The battle was part of a series of battles fought to resolve competing claims to the Earldom of Ross, a large region of northern Scotland. Robert Stewart, Duke of Albany, Regent of Scotland, had taken control of the earldom ostensibly as guardian of his granddaughter Euphemia Leslie, but in truth, though Donald of Islay, Lord of the Isles had the superior claim, Albany wanted Ross for his younger son, John. Donald, Lord of the Isles, had married Euphemia's aunt Mariota. Donald therefore invaded Ross with the intention of seizing the earldom by force and preventing Albany from taking all of Scotland. The nearest contemporary record of the battle is found in the Irish Annals of Connacht, where under the year 1411, it is stated, “Mac Domnaill of Scotland won a great victory over the Galls of Scotland.” The 2011 article by Iain G. MacDonald, Donald of the Isles and the Earldom of Ross: West-Highland Perspectives on the Battle of Harlaw, also cites sources recording the victory.

Fingask railway station, Fingask Platform railway station or Fingask Halt railway station was situated in the Fingask area of Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on a short branch, known as the Inverury and Old Meldrum Junction Railway, from Inverurie to Old Meldrum. It served Fingask Castle and the surrounding farms, etc., in this rural area.
