St. Peter's Abbey on the Madron (Kloster St. Peter am Madron) was a Benedictine monastery in Flintsbach am Inn in Bavaria, Germany. The church, now a pilgrimage church known as the Peterskirchlein, still stands on the site.

Inn Glacier

The Inn Glacier (German: Inn-Gletscher), also called the Inn Valley Glacier (Inntal-Gletscher). was the ice age glacier of the Alpine river, the Inn. Originating in the Swiss Upper and Lower Engadine (in the present canton of Graubünden), it flowed through the state of Tyrol in Austria (occupying the present day Inn Valley). On German territory it pushed its ice front far into the Bavarian Alpine Foreland. The Inn Glacier attained its greatest thickness and extent during the Riss glaciation (Old moraines). The overwhelming part of the landforms seen today in the valley carved by the Inn Glacier date, however, to the last ice age, the Würm glaciation (Young moraines).

It lies 15 km north of the administrative town of Kufstein in the northern part of the Tyrol, at the border with Bavaria, Germany. Settlement began in the third century; Erl is mentioned in documents dating back to A.D. 788. The village has hosted a Passion play every six years since 1613 as well as the more recently founded summer and wintertime Tyrolean Festival, founded by Gustl Kuhn, which is devoted to classical music and opera.

Wendelstein Rack Railway

The Wendelstein Rack Railway (German: Wendelsteinbahn), sometimes just referred to as the Wendelstein Railway, is an electrically-driven metre gauge rack railway (with several adhesion sections) that runs up the Wendelstein in the Upper Bavarian Limestone Alps. Together with the Wendelstein Cable Car (Wendelstein-Seilbahn) it is operated by the Wendelsteinbahn GmbH. The mountain railway climbs through a total height of 1,217.27 metres (3,993.7 feet). The Wendelstein Railway is one of only four working rack railways in Germany, the others being the Bavarian Zugspitze Railway, the Drachenfels Railway and the Stuttgart Rack Railway. It is also the second-highest railway in Germany, after the Zugspitze Railway, but the highest when considering only open-air railways.
