Mooncrest Historic District

The Sewickley Bridge is a steel continuous truss bridge spanning the Ohio River between Sewickley and Moon Township, Pennsylvania, carrying State Route 4025 and the Orange Belt. It was built by American Bridge Company and opened on October 21, 1981.

899 Old Thorn Run Road in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, was built in 1814. The house was added to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 1988.

The Sewickley Public Library is the public library serving the Quaker Valley School District and is the oldest library in Allegheny County. The library can be found in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, a borough that is located 12 miles (19 km) west northwest of Pittsburgh along the Ohio River. A community and cultural resource since 1873, the Sewickley Public Library was established to provide free service to residents of the Quaker Valley School District, Allegheny County residents, and qualified non-residents. The Library offers a variety of materials and services. Owning over 90,000 titles – housing an ever-growing collection of fiction and non-fiction books, DVDs, music CDs, audio books, and magazines – the library also has access to the materials of all other participating Allegheny County Library Association libraries.Major funding for the library is provided by the Quaker Valley School District. Partial funding is provided by the Allegheny Regional Asset District and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

The John Jay Center is an athletic facility on the campus of Robert Morris University in the Pittsburgh suburb of Moon Township, PA. Built in 1968, it features a capacity of 1,000 spectators. It was the primary campus indoor athletic venue until the Charles L. Sewall Center opened for the 1985-1986 season. The Colonials men's basketball team played their first game as an NCAA Division I team at the center on November 30, 1976, a win over Delaware State. It was the home arena for the first two Robert Morris teams to play in the NCAA tournament (in 1982 and 1983). The Northeast Conference men's basketball championship tournament was held in the center in 1991. Today it is used for intramural sports but does maintain office space as well. By 2015 there were discussions about converting the building for academic use if and when RMU builds a new arena to replace the Sewall Center as the school's primary athletic facility.

Robert Morris University (RMU) is a private university in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1921 and is named after Robert Morris, known as the "financier of the American revolution." It enrolls nearly 5,000 students and offers 60 bachelor's degree programs and 35 master's and doctoral programs. Most students are from the Pittsburgh area, while 16 percent of freshmen in 2018 were from outside Pennsylvania.

What was the 17th district, which had been anchored in Northeast Pennsylvania, was modified to become the 9th district, and the old 12th district likewise became the 17th, for the 2018 elections and representation thereafter until the current map was ordered on February 23, 2022. In the 2020 redistricting cycle, its portion of Butler County, including Cranberry Township, was removed from the district, while it gained some eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh, such as Forest Hills and Wilkinsburg.
