Schlarman Academy is a private, Roman Catholic academy composed of two campuses. Previously, the Vermilion County Catholic grade schools included: Holy Family, St. Mary’s, and St. Paul’s. In July 2011, these schools consolidated with Schlarman High School to form what is now known as Schlarman Academy. The "South Campus" is a combined primary and middle school (kindergarten through 6th grade) located in the building formerly known as St. Paul School, located at the corner of Walnut St. and Vermilion St. The "North Campus" is a secondary school (7th grade through 12th grade) campus located in the building formerly known as Schlarman High School at the corner of Winter St. and Vermilion St. in Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois. The school was established in 1945 and named after Archbishop Joseph Schlarman, bishop of the Diocese of Peoria at that time. Schlarman's mascot is The Hilltopper, because the secondary school campus sits on top of a hill close to Lake Vermilion. It is a relatively small school in terms of enrollment, but the north campus is quite expansive and has a large gymnasium. Its north campus comprises one of three high schools in Danville, the others being the city's sole public high school, Danville High School, several blocks away and First Baptist Christian School located across Vermilion Street from the south campus. Schlarman Academy is a school of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Peoria.

The station is currently owned by Neuhoff Corp., through licensee Neuhoff Media Danville, LLC. On February 1, 2024, Neuhoff Media sold radio stations in Danville and Decatur IL to Champaign Multimedia Group for $2 million and has since closed in May 2024.

Licensed to Danville, Illinois, the station serves East-Central Illinois and West-Central Indiana, and is owned by Neuhoff Corp., through licensee Neuhoff Media Danville, LLC. On February 1, 2024, Neuhoff Media sold radio stations in Danville and Decatur IL to Champaign Multimedia Group for $2 million and has since closed in May 2024.

The Building at 210–212 West North Street was an apartment building located in Danville, Illinois. The two-story Queen Anne building was built in 1902. The building's front facade had four hexagonal window bays and an entrance between each pair of bays. Each entrance had a classical porch with Doric columns and an entablature. The window bays had a set of three windows on each story; the windows featured voussoirs and large keystones, and a stone belt course ran above the windows on each story. The roof had a large central pavilion with two dormers and two side pavilions with one each; the dormers were aligned with the four window bays.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 8, 2000. It was demolished circa 2006, and was delisted in 2020.

The First National Bank Building, known locally as the Bresee Tower, is a historic bank building at 2-4 N. Vermilion Street in Danville, Illinois. The building was constructed in 1918 for the First National Bank, which was established in 1857 and had operated in another building at the same site since 1867. Chicago architecture firm Mundie & Jensen designed the building in the Classical Revival style, a popular choice which was also used in several of Danville's other banks. Like many Classical Revival skyscrapers, the twelve-story building is divided into a two-story base, a shaft, and a one-story capital to resemble a Greek column. The entire exterior of the building is clad in terra cotta, and its decorative elements include pilasters, ornate metal entrance surrounds, and a bracketed entablature.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 13, 2018.Currently, the historic high-rise is in danger of being demolished and lost forever, the City of Danville has set aside funds for its demolition.

The David S. Palmer Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Danville, Illinois, that has a seating capacity of 4,750 for concerts and 2,350 for sports. It was built in 1980. Palmer Arena is the home for the Eastern Illinois University ice hockey club. Along with team sports, the David S. Palmer has open ice skating and hosts concerts from time to time and U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program. The arena hosted the Vermilion County Bobcats of the Southern Professional Hockey League in the 2021–22 and 2022–23 seasons.It was home to the Danville Dashers hockey team from 1981 until 1986 and later as the Danville Fighting Saints in the All-American Hockey League from 1986 to 1989. Hockey returned to arena with the Danville Wings junior hockey team, the Danville Pounders of the North Eastern Hockey League, and the Danville Inferno. From 2011 to 2020, it was home to another Danville Dashers of the Federal Prospects Hockey League. The arena has also hosted indoor football with the Danville Demolition for one season in 2007 while the Ultimate Indoor Football League planned to have a team in the arena in 2012 but never launched. In the 2015–16 season, it was the home of the Danville RiverHawks of the Premier Basketball League.

The Stone Arch Bridge is a bridge in Danville, Illinois, which carries U.S. Route 136 (US 136; East Main Street) across Stony Creek. The segmental arch bridge is 92 feet (28 m) long and built with sandstone. The bridge was built in the 1890s to facilitate Danville's expansion during an industrial boom. As various geographic and political limitations prevented the city from expanding in any directions but east and southeast, the city grew over Stony Creek, necessitating a new bridge. Mayor John Beard commissioned the bridge; during the 1890s, Beard and political rival John Cannon clashed over many issues, and Beard most likely built the bridge to demonstrate his political effectiveness. The bridge is the only segmented arch bridge remaining in east-central Illinois and is one of five stone arch bridges in the region.The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Danville Area Community College (DACC) is a public community college in Danville, Illinois. It was founded in 1946 as an extension of the University of Illinois; it has grown into an independent college offering courses in 76 areas of study. These include college transfer, occupational degrees and certificates, re-training, skill development, customized training and areas of special interest. As of the Fall 2022 semester, there were 1924 students enrolled at the college.

The Danville Branch, National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers Historic District is the historic campus of a branch of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers in Danville, Illinois. The branch, which opened in 1898, was one of eleven branches of the National Home, which formed in 1867 to treat Union soldiers disabled during the Civil War. U.S. Representative and Danville resident Joseph Gurney Cannon used his political influence to establish the Danville Branch, which brought money and jobs to the city. The campus served as both a medical facility and a planned community for the area's veterans, and it included housing, veteran-run shops, community halls, a school and library, and a chapel. Most of these buildings were designed in the Georgian Revival style; however, the library is a Classical Revival building, and the chapel has a Gothic Revival design. The campus also includes the Danville National Cemetery. The buildings remaining on the campus are presently divided between Danville's Veterans Affairs hospital and the Danville Area Community College. The campus was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 30, 1992.

Danville National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery located in the city of Danville, in Vermilion County, Illinois. Administered by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, it encompasses 63.3 acres (25.6 ha), and as of 2014, it had 12,000 interments.
