Lewis Steward House

The Albert H. Sears House, also known as "Robin's Nest," is a house in the U.S. city of Plano, Illinois. It is an example of Queen Anne style architecture in the United States. The house was constructed in 1881 for prominent Plano businessman Albert H. Sears. The home sits on nearly two acres of forested land and is considered a good example of Queen Anne style and the elegance surrounding that era. The building was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on January 29, 1987.

The Plano Stone Church was constructed in 1868 to serve as the headquarters for the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS Church, now Community of Christ) under the leadership of Joseph Smith III. Smith moved to Plano, Illinois, in 1866 and in 1867 was appointed head of the Stone Church's building committee. Smith and the committee selected the site, design and builder for the structure. The Plano Stone Church served as the headquarters of the RLDS from its completion in 1868 until Smith, his family, and the church moved to Lamoni, Iowa, in 1881. The building is constructed in the Greek Revival style with exterior walls of sandstone. The interior consists of two rooms, a vestibule and the main room. The structure underwent a series of changes during the 1940s including the enclosure of two alcoves in the vestibule. Plano Stone Church was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Plano Hotel is a 19th-century hotel building located in Plano, Illinois, United States. It was built in 1868 by John K. Smith and reflects the Italianate architectural style. In 1993, the building was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Plano is a city near Aurora in Kendall County, Illinois, United States, with a population of 11,847 as of the 2020 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area, being about 55 miles (90 km) from Chicago. The city was home to the Plano Harvester Company in the late 19th century, as well as the Plano Molding Company more recently. In 2011, downtown Plano was used as a set for Man of Steel.

Plano station, also known as the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad Depot is an Amtrak intercity train station in Plano, Illinois, United States. The station was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on November 12, 1993. Currently, four Amtrak trains stop at Plano per day. These serves are the Illinois Zephyr and the Carl Sandburg. The Illinois Zephyr stops in the morning (to Chicago Union Station) and in the evening (to Quincy). The Carl Sandburg stops in the morning (to Quincy) and the evening (to Chicago). The Southwest Chief and California Zephyr pass through the station but do not stop. Metra is exploring extending the BNSF Railway Line to Sandwich, Illinois in the future, and originally proposed the Plano Amtrak station as one of the stops on the proposed extension. However, the proposed station location was changed to near Little Rock road in Plano's city limits, over 1 mile west of the current station.

Plano High School is a public high school in Plano, Illinois, serving students in grades 9–12. The school is part of the Plano Community Unit School District #88. This school had an average ACT score of 18.8 in 2013, and had 44 percent of students meeting or exceeding standards on the PSAE.As of the 2011–2012 school year, the school had an enrollment of 619 students and 44.66 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 1:13.86.Plano High school was the filming location of the music video of Lil Skies' and Landon Cube's hit single, "Nowadays", shot and filmed by Cole Bennett.

Little Rock Township occupies the 6-mile (9.7 km) square (with the southeast corner nipped off by the Fox River) in Kendall County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 13,076 and it contained 4,723 housing units. Little Rock is named after Little Rock Creek, which flows through the township. The largest settlement in the township is the city of Plano, from where the township is administered.

The Reaching Across Illinois Library System is a regional library system consisting of 1,250 public, academic, special, and school library members, representing more than 4,000 library facilities in Northern, West-central Illinois. The regional library system was created in 2011 when the Alliance Library System, DuPage Library System, Metropolitan Library System, North Suburban Library System, and Prairie Area Library System merged.In Illinois, regional library systems were established by state law. Member libraries must certify that they meet membership requirements annually. The systems are funded by annual system area and per capita grants from the Illinois State Library.

The Edith Farnsworth House, formerly the Farnsworth House, is a historical house designed and constructed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe between 1945 and 1951. The house was constructed as a one-room weekend retreat in a rural setting in Plano, Illinois, about 60 miles (96 km) southwest of Chicago's downtown. The steel and glass house was commissioned by Edith Farnsworth. Mies created a 1,500-square-foot (140 m2) structure that is widely recognized as an exemplar of International Style of architecture. The retreat was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2006, after being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. The house is owned and operated as a house museum by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. In celebration of the 2018 Illinois Bicentennial, the Farnsworth House was selected as one of the Illinois 200 great places by the American Institute of Architects Illinois component (AIA Illinois) and was recognized by USA Today Travel magazine, as one of AIA Illinois' selections for Illinois "25 Must See Buildings".

Silver Springs State Fish and Wildlife Area is an Illinois state park on 1,350 acres (550 ha) in Kendall County, Illinois, United States. The park was established in the late 1960s and is named for the natural spring within its boundaries. The park has two artificial lakes and the Fox River flows through the northern end of the park. Silver Springs hosts a variety of activities including fishing, hunting, boating and hiking. The park has areas of native prairie restoration, a sledding hill and a seven-mile (11 km) equestrian trail. The prairie restoration areas hold many species of plants including lead plant, and purple coneflower.

Fox is an unincorporated community in Kendall County, in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is located between the Village of Millbrook and the City of Yorkville. The community was originally named Fox Station due to its relationship with the Chicago, Burlington, & Quincy Railroad. It served the local farming community by providing a school, grain elevator, feed mill, store and post office.
