The North Cambridge carhouse is a bus garage for trolleybuses, and a former streetcar carhouse, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which is owned and operated by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). It was first built in 1874. The current structure dates from 1979 and is located in the North Cambridge neighborhood at 2375 Massachusetts Avenue. It is one of two MBTA garages used in operation of the Boston-area trolleybus system (along with the Southampton Garage, where Silver Line dual-mode buses are maintained).

North Cambridge, also known as "Area 11", is a neighborhood of Cambridge, Massachusetts bounded by Porter Square and the Fitchburg Line railroad tracks on the south, the city of Somerville on the northeast, Alewife Brook and the town of Arlington on the northwest, and the town of Belmont on the west. In 2005 it had a population of 10,642 residents living in 4,699 households, and the average income was $44,784. In 2010, the racial demographics for the neighborhood were 57.6% White, 20% Black, 15.1% Asian/Pacific Islander, 7.3% Hispanic origin, 0.3% Native American, 2.4% other race.The main commercial areas of North Cambridge are situated along Alewife Brook Parkway and Massachusetts Avenue. A third area, Davis Square, in Somerville, also exerts considerable influence on the North Cambridge neighborhood. Four roads span the railroad tracks, connecting the bulk of North Cambridge with other neighborhoods of Cambridge. From east to west, these are: Mass. Ave. (route MA-2A), Walden Street, Sherman Street (grade crossing), and Alewife Brook Parkway (carrying routes MA-2, MA-16, and US-3).

Teele Square is at the intersection of Broadway, Holland Street, and Curtis Street in Somerville, Massachusetts, a half-mile from Davis Square and the Davis Square stop on the MBTA Red Line, as well as a half-mile from Alewife Brook Parkway (Route 16) and Powder House Square. The square sits on Clarendon Hill, one of the seven hills of Somerville. The square is named after Jonathan W. Teele, who resided in an early portion of Charlestown that eventually became Somerville in 1842.The square is within a short walking distance of Tufts University. It is not far from the town lines of Cambridge, Arlington, and Medford. The square features a wide variety of eateries including Rudy's (Tex-Mex), PJ Ryan's Irish Pub, Broadway Eatery (Pizza & Burgers), Angelina's Pizzeria, House of Tibet Kitchen, Masala (Indian), Istanbul'lu (Turkish), True Bistro (Vegan), Magnificent Muffin & Bagel (breakfast only), and Renee's Cafe. There are three convenience stores in Teele Square, a barber, three hair salons and a liquor store. However, Teele Square has been trumped by Davis Square, a larger, much more popular square 1⁄3 mile (0.54 km) to the east from Teele Square. On October 30, 2011 at approximately 10:00pm, A three-alarm fire broke out in a dry cleaners and destroyed four businesses and a police sub-station in Teele Square.Teele Square is also home to Ladder 3 and Engine 6 of the Somerville Fire Department. Within Teele Square and the areas in Teele Square, there is also a large Haitian American population and a large white American population. It is considered one of Somerville's more diverse neighborhoods along with Winter Hill, East Somerville and Union Square. Also, Teele Square is a lower income neighborhood compared to the neighborhoods surrounding the neighborhood.

The Almshouse is an historic almshouse located at 45 Matignon Road in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is now the site of the International School of Boston's main campus. It was built in 1850 and is a prominent example of institutional residential architecture in stone, resembling prisons of the era. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, where it is incorrectly listed at 41 Orchard Street.

The Samuel J. Wright House, also known as the Greek Revival Cottage, is an historic house at 59 Rice Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This modest 1.5-story Greek Revival cottage is one of the finest of its type in northwestern Cambridge. It was built in 1847 by housewright Samuel J. Wright. It features a fully pedimented gable end, original pedimented gable dormers on the left side, and fluted columns supporting an entablature. The side-hall front door is flanked by full-length sidelight windows and pilasters.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

St. John the Evangelist is a historic Roman Catholic Church at 2270 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The late Speaker of the House, "Tip" O'Neill, was a lifelong parishioner and graduated from St. John High School in 1931. His Requiem Mass was held in the church on January 10, 1994.The church was built in 1904 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The architects, Maginnis, Walsh and Sullivan, won four gold medals from the American Institute of Architects. One was for St. John's.

Sculpture with a "D" is an abstract sculpture by Sam Gilliam. It is located at Davis (MBTA station), Somerville, Massachusetts. Painted aluminum panels 44 feet long are hung above the platform.

Davis station is an underground Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Red Line rapid transit station located at Davis Square in Somerville, Massachusetts. The accessible station has a single island platform for the Red Line, as well as a dedicated busway on the surface. It opened in 1984 as part of the Red Line Northwest Extension project.

The R. A. Knight–Eugene Lacount House is a historic house in Somerville, Massachusetts. The two story Second Empire house was built c. 1870; its second owner was Eugene Lacount, an American Civil War veteran. The house's mansard roof is pierced by recessed dormers with segmented arch dormers. The cornices of the roof, projecting bay tops, and front porch are all studded with modillions, and the front porch features turned posts with decorative brackets.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Somerville Theatre is an independent movie theater and concert venue in the Davis Square neighborhood of Somerville, Massachusetts, United States. Over one hundred years old, the Somerville Theatre started off as a vaudeville house and movie theater. The theater has since transitioned and now operates as a live music venue and first-run movie theater. As a music venue, the theater has played host to many historic concerts, including the first of the two Last Dispatch concerts, two shows by Bruce Springsteen in 2003, and a performance by U2 in 2009. Recent live performances have included Ryan Adams & the Cardinals, Cursive, Norah Jones, The Jonas Brothers, Joan Baez, and the John Butler Trio. The building also hosts the Somerville branch of the Museum of Bad Art.

The R.H. Farwell House is an historic double house at 2222–2224 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
