Babbitt, North Bergen

The Hudson County Schools of Technology is a public school district based in North Bergen that offers career and vocational education for public middle school and high school students in sixth through twelfth grades, and for adult students throughout Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising six schools, had an enrollment of 2,468 students and 210.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.7:1.

91st Street is a proposed station along the Northern Branch Corridor Project extension of Hudson-Bergen Light Rail in the Babbitt Section of North Bergen, New Jersey.The station site is located along the Northern Branch (CSX) south of the Edgewater Branch (NYSW) at the city line with Fairview west of U.S. Route 1/9 (Tonnelle Avenue). It is designed to have two side platforms and small parking area for 32 vehicles.Erie Railroad's Northern Branch and the New York, Susquehanna, and Western (NYSW) maintained a minor station at Babitt nearby 83rd Street in North Bergen. After diverging the Northern Branch crossed under the West Shore Railroad and proceeded to next station stop at Railroad Avenue in Fairview. The new station at 91st Street is located between the two historical stations. As of 2021 a study for the Passaic–Bergen–Hudson Transit Project is reviewing the reintroduction of passenger service on a portion of the NYSW right-of-way in Passaic, Bergen, and Hudson counties. A potential route would use the Edgewater Branch right-of-way to connect to the HBLR just north of the 91st Street station, including a station stop there.

69th Street is a proposed interchange station in North Bergen in Hudson County, New Jersey. It would serve passengers on two lines under consideration by NJ Transit, the Passaic–Bergen–Hudson Transit Project and the Northern Branch Corridor Project, the latter of which is an extension of the Hudson–Bergen Light Rail. The station would located at-grade west the North Bergen Yard and Tonnelle Avenue.

The New York Tunnel Extension (also New York Improvement and Tunnel Extension) is a combination of railroad tunnels and approaches from New Jersey and Long Island to Pennsylvania Station in Midtown Manhattan. It was built by Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) at the beginning of the 20th century to improve railroad access throughout the greater New York City area, and lead to the line's then-new passenger facility, Pennsylvania Station.

Bergenwood is a long narrow district of North Bergen, New Jersey in the northern central part of the township between Kennedy Boulevard and Tonnelle Avenue, characterized by the steep slopes on the west side of the Hudson Palisades as they descend to the New Jersey Meadowlands.

Fairview Cemetery, also known as Fairview Memorial Park and Mausoleum, is a burial ground in Fairview, Bergen County, New Jersey in the United States, located on the western slopes of the Hudson Palisades. It is bordered by North Bergen, Broad Avenue, and Fairview Avenue, across from which is Mount Moriah Cemetery. The New York, Susquehanna and Western Railroad right-of-way at western portal of the Edgewater Tunnel passes through the cemetery.

WOR TV Tower was a 760-foot-tall (230-meter) lattice tower used for FM- and TV-broadcasting at North Bergen, New Jersey, USA. The 420-ton tower was built in 1949. At the time of its construction, it was the tenth-tallest man-made structure in the world. At the beginning of 1953, the TV transmissions were moved to Empire State Building, but the tower remained. On November 8, 1956, the top of the tower was hit by a small aircraft, which knocked off the top and killed six people. The tower was later dismantled.

North Bergen is a township in the northern part of Hudson County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 63,361, an increase of 2,588 (+4.3%) from the 2010 census count of 60,773, which in turn reflected an increase of 2,681 (+4.6%) from the 58,092 counted in the 2000 census. The township was incorporated in 1843. It was much diminished in territory by a series of secessions. Situated on the Hudson Palisades, it is one of the hilliest municipalities in the United States. Like neighboring North Hudson communities, North Bergen is among those places in the nation with the highest population density and a majority Hispanic population.

The Racetrack Section, also known as Hudson Heights, is a neighborhood of North Bergen Township in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. It is a mostly residential district between Bergenline and Kennedy Boulevard. Its east–west streets follow the numbering of other North Hudson towns while its north–south streets are called avenues and are numbered First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth. Located on the plateau of the Hudson Palisades (which begin their descent at the Boulevard) the Racetrack Section consists of mostly one and two family homes and enjoys convenient public transportation, a stable population, and proximity to North Bergen Public Library, North Bergen High School, North Hudson Park and Woodcliff. The neighborhood takes its name from Nungesser's Guttenberg Racetrack. The racetrack located in the area was a popular with day-trippers from New York (who traveled by streetcar from the elevator at the Weehawken Ferry) during the latter part of the 19th century, until gaming was outlawed by the New Jersey legislature in 1893. While the tracks closed, the area remained an amusement park known as Little Coney Island. The "pleasure resort" as it was known, gained a reputation as attracting a similarly rowdy crowd as the racetrack, and reported incidents of alcohol being served to children and women being drugged. The recently invented ice cream cone was popularized at the park. The track was later used as a roadhouse for automobilists until the former clubhouse burned down in 1910. The site became a known landing spot for early aviators. The land on which the racetrack had been was subdivided in 1919, and later was built upon creating the section which exists today. . White Castle, an early drive-in fast-food chain, has long been located in the neighborhood.The district is still sometimes called Hudson Heights or Nungesser's, which is more commonly used to describe the intersection and transportation hub at the northwest corner of North Hudson Park, at the Bergen line with Fairview border.

Nungessers is the name of the confluence of roads that meet at the Hudson and Bergen county line at North Bergen and Fairview in northeastern New Jersey. The area is the former site of the Nungesser's Gutenberg Racetrack, a late 19th-century gaming and gambling venue. The neighborhood just south of Nungesser's is called the Racetrack Section and the municipality of Guttenberg is nearby. A White Castle, an early drive-in fast-food chain, originally built in the 1930s has long been a landmark in the neighborhood, as has adjacent North Hudson Park.

The Excelsior Engine Co. No. 2 Firehouse is a historic former fire station built in 1897 and located at 6106 Polk Street in the town of West New York in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. It was later known as the Exempt Firemen Association Headquarters. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 12, 2022, for its significance in architecture and social history. It was listed in 2017 as one of the state's 10 most endangered historic places by Preservation New Jersey.

The Vince Lombardi Park & Ride is located on the New Jersey Turnpike in the Meadowlands in Ridgefield, Bergen County, New Jersey. The park and ride and separate service area to south of it are dedicated to and named after Vince Lombardi. Located at the edge of the Little Ferry Yard it has been viewed as a potential rail station location since the 1990s and as of 2021, it is under consideration by NJ Transit as part of the Passaic–Bergen–Hudson Transit Project.
