The Monterrey College of Music and Dance (Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey in Spanish) is a public music college in Monterrey, Mexico.

The Cerro del Obispado (Spanish for Bishopric Hill) is a famous landmark in the city of Monterrey, Mexico, named after the building constructed in the middle of the slope by the end of the 18th century. The hill is a popular recreational area that includes a public lookout point (Mirador del Obispado), a monumental flag, and the famous Bishopric Palace (Palacio del Obispado).

The Mirador del Obispado (Bishop’s Lookout) is located at the top of the Cerro del Obispado (Bishop’s Hill) in the northern city of Monterrey, Mexico. It features the biggest bandera monumental (monumental flag) in Mexico. The hill and the lookout receive their name from the building constructed in the middle of the hill by the end of the 18th century, the Palacio del Obispado (Bishop’s Palace). At an altitude of 775 meters above the sea level the lookout consists of a 40 meters of diameter round-shaped esplanade with the flag pole at its center. There are benches, a small parking lot (mainly for handicapped people) and 3 French gardens. The installations are also equipped with restrooms and water troughs. It was conceived as a family walking stroll so the main road is very wide and well illuminated. Cars are allowed to pass but the main parking lot is at the entrance of the Park.

On August 25, 2011, members of drug cartel Los Zetas set a casino on fire in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, killing 52 people.The arson attack left over a dozen injured, and over 35 trapped for several hours before the Mexican forces arrived at the place minutes after the incident. Media reports state the majority of those killed were women, including one who was pregnant. Although the government crackdown of the drug cartels dates back to 2006, Monterrey became an increasingly violent city in 2010, due to the rupture of the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas.Surveillance footage shows vehicles with armed gunmen arriving at the entrance of Casino Royale. After the gunmen descended from their vehicles, they stormed the casino's main entrance, opened fire on guests, and doused the casino entrances with gasoline and started a fire that trapped people inside. The attack was classified as the most violent and bloodiest in the history of Monterrey and one of the worst in the state of Nuevo León.

Galerías Monterrey was the first shopping mall in Monterrey, Mexico. Founded in 1983 with Liverpool, it has grown to attract upscale fashion stores, restaurants, and movie theaters.

The Edison Station (Spanish: Estación Edison) is a station on Line 1 of the Monterrey Metro. It is located in Monterrey, Mexico at the intersection of Edison street and Colon Avenue in the Monterrey Centre. This station is located in the Colon Avenue in the northeast side of the Monterrey Centre. The station was opened on 25 April 1991 as part of the inaugural section of Line 1, going from San Bernabé to Exposición.This station serves the west side of the downtown area and also the Talleres neighborhood (Colonia Talleres). It is accessible for people with disabilities. This station is named after Edison Avenue, and its logo represents a phonograph, one of the inventions of Thomas Edison, whom the avenue is named after.

Loma Larga Tunnel, or, as it is known by the locals, Túnel de la Loma Larga, is a man-made tunnel constructed in the bowels of the Cerro de la Loma Larga, in the limits of the cities of Monterrey and San Pedro Garza García in Nuevo León, México. The work itself in fact is two tunnels, holding three lanes each (a fourth one is destined for emergencies). The tunnel is almost two kilometers long. The lanes flowing south end in the municipality of San Pedro Garza García, while the ones flowing north end in Monterrey.

The Hospital Station (Spanish: Estación Hospital) is a station on Line 1 of the Monterrey Metro. It is located on Simón Bolivar Avenue near the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL) Medical Campus and the University Hospital (Hospital Civil). This station is located in the Colon Avenue in the northeast side of the Monterrey Centre. The station was opened on 25 April 1991 as part of the inaugural section of Line 1, going from San Bernabé to Exposición.This station serves the Central Mitras and South Mitras neighborhoods (Colonia Mitras Centro y Mitras Sur), and is accessible for people with disabilities. This station is named after medical facilities nearby, and its logo represents a hospital.

Cerro de la Loma Larga (literal English: Long Hill Mountain), or Loma Larga (short version), is a lower extension of the Sierra Madre Oriental, particularly of Cerro de las Mitras. located in the Monterrey, Nuevo León metropolitan area. The hill has long been considered the natural division of the now adjacent cities of Monterrey and San Pedro Garza García. The Diana Cazadora statue marking the division of Monterrey and San Pedro Garza García was placed along a busy avenue (Gonzalitos) crossing over the hill. In the early 2000s, the state government completed the Loma Larga Tunnel, which burrows under the mountain to connect Monterrey to San Pedro Garza García. For its length of about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi), it is flanked on its northern side by the Santa Catarina River, and on its southern side, the Sierra Madre Oriental in almost full height. Nearby geological features make it a relatively unremarkable slope. Residential and commercial development has been built over most of the mountain. The Basílica de Guadalupe is also located on the hill, among other churches. Loma Larga is used for some broadcasting. XHRL-FM and XET-AM, among other stations, maintain facilities on the mountain. Other stations use Cerro del Mirador, located to the west. Some other well-known mountains or elevations of the area are Cerro de la Silla, Cerro de las Mitras, the Sierra Madre Oriental and Cerro de Chipinque with its famous M-shaped figure, the Cerro del Topo Chico, Cerro del Obispado and La Huasteca.
