St Anne's Church, Birmingham

The Old Crown, a pub in Deritend, claims to be one of the oldest extant secular buildings in Birmingham, England. It is Grade II* listed, and claims to date back to c. 1368, retaining its "black and white" timber frame, although almost all of the present building dates from the early 16th century.

St John's Church, Deritend was a parish church in the Church of England in Birmingham, which stood from 1735 until it was demolished in 1947.

The Custard Factory is a creative and digital business workspace complex, including independent shops, cafes and bars, on the site of what was the Bird's Custard factory off High Street, Deritend, in the Digbeth area of central Birmingham, England.

Highgate Park is a public park in Highgate, Birmingham, England. Highgate Park stands on land that was originally owned by Elizabeth Hollier, who used it for grazing. When Elizabeth died her will stated that the land was to be used for charity. The four fields were to be rented out, and twelve poor people of Aston Parish and twelve poor people of Birmingham Parish were to be clothed with the money each year. In 1875, the Trustees of Elizabeth Hollier's Charity wanted to develop the land for industry, but Birmingham Corporation bought it for a park. The part of the park near Alcester Street was later asphalted to serve as a playground. Highgate Park was also home to Birmingham's King Edward VII Memorial, but that was moved to the city centre in 2011. Alongside the park, is the 'Paragon Hotel'. This was originally a Rowton House for single working men. It is now attracting business people attending the many conventions in Birmingham and tourists visiting the city.

The Medicine Bar was a bar in Birmingham, England. Located in the Custard Factory in Digbeth, it has hosted many techno, acid jazz, funk and hip hop events. It started as a collaboration in the 1990s between the London Medicine bar and local hip hop DJ 'Simon Fat Head', who began his career at the Brothers and Sisters at the Coast to Coast club on Broad Street. Substance (which evolved out of Amplified) is the longest running hip hop night in the bar, with DJs Roc1, Magoo, Chris Reid (also from Scratch in London) and MC Mad Flow. It has brought hip hop acts including Afrika Bambaata, De La Soul and Jeru the Damaja to Birmingham. Leftfoot is the bar's main funk and soul night which is part run by ex Rockers Hi-Fi DJ Dick and Adam Regan (who now owns the Bull's Head bar in the birmingham suburb of Moseley). Leftfoot hosts many large acid Jazz type events with appearances from Gilles Peterson to Mr Scruff. Both nights feature live acts. Other events to take place at the bar include breakdance and graffiti art shows. For a short period in 2006/07, the Medicine Bar hosted the Birmingham leg of Club NME. Medicine Bar had a Martin Audio modular system installed by Ace Vintage Systems.

Deritend is a historic area of Birmingham, England, built around a crossing point of the River Rea. It is first mentioned in 1276. Today Deritend is usually considered to be part of Digbeth.

The J. F. Kennedy Memorial in Birmingham, England, is a memorial mosaic mural to John F. Kennedy, by Kenneth Budd.The mosaic, commissioned by Birmingham's Irish community, and funded by public subscription, was constructed in panels, at Budd's company in south London, Kenneth Budd and Associates.

South & City College Birmingham is a further education and higher education college in Birmingham, England, providing full-time and part-time courses. It was previously known as South Birmingham College and City College Birmingham before the merger.

AIR is a 2,000 capacity superclub located in Digbeth, Birmingham in England. AIR started as a spray shop for buses, when in 2000 the building was bought by Godskitchen and converted into a club, originally named CODE. In June 2003, CODE closed for a complete refit and reopened in late September 2003 under the new name of AIR. Improvements included an extra room of music being added to the two already in use (resulting in a lowered ceiling of the main room). Along with the club's name change, the 3 spaces inside were named the Oxygen Arena, the Nitrogen Room and the Carbon Lounge. The club features state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems. In 2002, Fergie (a resident DJ at the club for Godskitchen and Polysexual events in the early 2000s) said "It is one of the best [sound] systems I've ever played on, throughout the whole world".In addition to Friday night's Godskitchen, AIR has hosted parties by Helter Skelter, Babooshka, Polysexual, Raveology, Hardcore Til I Die & Atomic Jam. AIR is situated in an area of Digbeth synonymous with club culture, the "Custard Factory Quarter", named after the nearby Custard Factory, a centre for music and arts. Adjacent to the Custard Factory is the O2 Institute (formerly the Digbeth Institute), the original home of Godskitchen. The 20-year lease contract originally taken out by Angel Music Group remains in place but, since 6 May 2012, the club has remained closed due to the slow demise of the Godskitchen brand caused mainly by a lack of direction and leadership and the high costs imposed by the Custard Factory landlords making it far cheaper to keep the doors closed than to open them. The venue's owners Angel Music Group (also owners of Godskitchen and Global Gathering) ran 2 outdoor events utilising the car park area adjacent to its venue AIR in Birmingham in 2010 (Godskitchen Afresco) and again in 2012 (Godskitchen SixFiveTwelve). After the outdoor car park was successfully licensed by the then licensee and operations manager Nash Gooderham (when previous applicants had failed), both outdoor events were a success with capacities of 4000+ people and were arguably the first of their kind to take place in the city which set the precedence for similar events at other nearby venues. The 2012 event was the last time the venue was utilised before being closed and mothballed for almost a decade prior to the end of its lease with the Custard Factory. Godskitchen has since moved to several venues including the O2 Institute, The Rainbow Warehouse textile factory and Boxxed in search of a new home for its brand and loyal fanbase. In early 2022, the UK dance music brand Ravers Reunited announced that they were to hold an event at the venue in conjunction with Clubland X-Treme, an offshoot of the original Clubland brand. This event was held on Sunday the 1st of May. It has subsequently been announced that Ravers Reunited will hold their new year's eve event at the venue in 2022, entitled Ravers Reunited Presents AIR NYE.

The Adam & Eve is a former public house located on the corner of Bradford Street and Warner Street, in Deritend, Birmingham, England. There had been a public house of this name in this location for at least 200 years.

The O2 Institute (originally known as the Digbeth Institute) is a music venue located in Birmingham, England. The venue opened in 1908 as a mission of Carrs Lane Congregational Church. It has also served as an event centre, civic building and nightclub. It has three main rooms: the 1,500-capacity main auditorium called O2 Institute1 (formerly "The Institute") which has two seated upper balcony levels, the downstairs room which holds up to 600 people called O2 Institute2 (formerly "The Library") and the 250-capacity upstairs room O2 Institute3 (formerly "The Temple").The venue also houses "Un-Plug", an intimate club with a capacity of 400, located in the building's cellar. The space formerly operated as the "Midland Jazz Club", "Jug 'O Punch Folk Club", Dance Factory and "Barfly".

Holte Bridgman's Apollo Gardens were one of the main pleasure gardens of 18th century Birmingham, located on Moseley Street in Deritend, within the parish of Aston.Entertainments at the Apollo included music – concerts of trios and duets by Arne and Handel are recorded in 1748 – and fireworks. The Apollo was also the site of the first cricket match definitely recorded to have taken place within Birmingham, when "Eleven of the Gentlemen of the Holte Bridgman's Club and Eleven of the Gentlemen of Mr Thomas Bellamy's Club" played "the most of three innings, for Twenty-Two Guineas" on Monday 15 July 1751.Although the Apollo Gardens were smaller and less successful than their principal rival, the Birmingham Vauxhall Gardens in Duddeston, an article from 1787 in Aris's Birmingham Gazette described them as "lovely, sequestered and elegant" and described how they could be reached by pleasure boat on the River Rea, travelling under the bridges of Deritend, Bradford Street and Cheapside past field paths "gay with wild flowers".The garden closed in 1751 when its owner resumed his profession of house painting.
