Essex station (Ontario)

Each grade 7 & 8 student in the Greater Essex County District School Board, in Windsor, Ontario and Essex County, Ontario in Canada, will visit one of two centres for 7 full day sessions. Technology basics are presented through hands-on activities and a series of challenges. The level of student achievement is integrated with the home school Science and Technology assessment. The centre's mission is to provide the environment, materials, tools and resources necessary for students to discover the impact of technology in today's society.

The Essex Memorial Arena was an ice-hockey arena in Essex, Ontario, Canada constructed in 1960-1961. The capacity of the Essex Memorial Arena was 1,501 and it served as the home ice for the Essex 73's of the Great Lakes Junior C Hockey League from 1973–2009. During that time the 73's won 16 Great Lakes League Championships and 6 Ontario Junior C titles, The 2008–2009 season was to be the final year for the 73's at the Essex Memorial Arena and in that year the 73's captured the Ontario Junior C crown finishing with a perfect 31-0 record in the arena. A replacement arena was completed in September 2009. Various groups including Essex Minor Hockey continued to use the arena until it was demolished in the summer of 2015.

Essex County is a primarily rural county in Southwestern Ontario, Canada comprising seven municipalities: Amherstburg, Kingsville, Lakeshore, LaSalle, Leamington, Tecumseh and the administrative seat, Essex.

Essex was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly of the Parliament of the Province of Canada, in Canada West, at the south-western tip of the Ontario Peninsula. It was created in 1841, upon the establishment of the Province of Canada by the union of Upper Canada and Lower Canada. Essex was represented by one member in the Legislative Assembly. It was abolished in 1867, upon the creation of Canada and the province of Ontario.

The Cypher Systems Group Greenway (formerly Amherstburg–Essex Greenway) is a 23.9-kilometre (14.9 mi) rail trail along a former CN Rail spur line in the town of Essex, Ontario, Canada. As of May 2013, the trail extends from Sadler's Park in Essex towards Amherstburg. CN Rail had donated this spur line in 1997, following the donation of its other subdivision, which is now the Chrysler Canada Greenway, in 1993, to ERCA, which manages the trail. The total distance of the former rail line is 28 kilometres (17 mi), and extends via McGregor to Amherstburg. ERCA has stated they intended on linking to the Chrysler Canada Greenway and Amherstburg when funds become available, which was finally realized in the summer of 2017.

Essex/Billing Airstrip (TC LID: CEB8) is located 1.9 nautical miles (3.5 km; 2.2 mi) east of Essex, Ontario, Canada, near Marshfield.

Essex is a provincial electoral district in southwestern, Ontario, Canada. It elects one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. It existed from 1867 to 1874 and was re-created in 1999 from Essex South, Essex—Kent and Windsor—Sandwich. When the riding was recreated, it included all of Essex County except for Windsor, Old Tecumseh, St. Clair Beach, Leamington and Mersea Township. In 2007, it lost the parts of Tecumseh that had since been amalgamated (South Sandwich Township).

CHYR-FM (96.7 MHz, Mix 96.7) is a commercial radio station in Leamington, Ontario, Canada, serving the Southwestern Ontario market. It is owned by Blackburn Radio and airs a hot adult contemporary format branded as Mix 96.7. The station competes with cross-border station WDVD in Detroit.

Maidstone, Ontario, is a small hamlet on Essex County Road 34 in the municipality of Lakeshore, Ontario, Canada, since amalgamation in 1999. The town has a post office, a school, baseball diamonds, a park, a conservation area, a cemetery, a church, restaurant, community center and a grain elevator. The Windsor Star printed an article in 2006 projecting that the community's population would soar to over 2,000 within the next 10 years (at the time, it was around 580) due to the explosive growth in Tecumseh. It is unknown if this will happen, as Maidstone is closer to Essex than to Windsor and Tecumseh. The community was served by three main Provincial Highways in the past: Highway 3, until it was diverted onto its current alignment in 1977, Highway 114 (now just Malden Road, from CR 34/Former Highway 3, north to Middle Road, CR 46), and Highway 98, which was decommissioned in 1970, and became Essex County Road 46. It is also served by the very busy Manning Road (Essex CR 19).

The John Freeman Walls Historic Site and Underground Railroad Museum is a 20-acre (81,000 m2) historical site located in Puce, now Lakeshore, Ontario, about 40 km east of Windsor. Today, many of the original buildings remain, and in 1985, the site was opened as an Underground Railroad museum. The site forms part of the African-Canadian Heritage Tour in Southern Ontario.
