The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St George is the Greek Orthodox church of Cape Town, South Africa, located in the district of Woodstock, and the seat of the Metropolitan of the Orthodox Archdiocese of Good Hope, under the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa.The cathedral, believed to be the oldest Greek Orthodox church in Africa, is a Neoclassical church built as St George's Church in 1903–1904 by the Greek community. The interior is noted for its frescoes in the Byzantine style. In 1968 the church was elevated to the status of cathedral.

The Treaty Tree (Afrikaans: Verdragboom or Traktaatboom ) is a 500-year-old white milkwood tree on Treaty Road and south of the rail line in Woodstock, Cape Town, South Africa. Peace was made under the tree on 10 January 1806 after the Battle of Blaauwberg, thereby starting the second British occupation of the Cape and leading to the permanent establishment of the Cape Colony as a British possession. Until 1834 slaves were sold and convicts hanged under it.Prior to the arrival of the Dutch, the tree was known to have been a feature of the local landscape since at least the early 1500s. In 1509 a massacre by Khoikhoi of 64 Portuguese sailors under the command of Dom Francisco de Almeida took place close to the tree.

The Voice of the Cape is a Muslim community radio station based in Cape Town, South Africa. The first Muslim radio station in South Africa, the station started broadcasting on a special license in 1995 for the month of Ramadaan. Entirely community-owned and independent, its license is held by the Muslim Broadcasting Corporation. The idea of a Muslim radio station was born in the early 1990s by such people as Imam Noor Davids and Imam Gassan Solomon (then Secretary General of the Muslim Judicial Council), for the purpose of community advancement. Subsequent temporary broadcast licenses were granted, permitting the station to broadcast for 24 hours, sharing the frequency with another Muslim radio station. In June 2002, the station was awarded a four-year license on the same basis, one which has been successfully renewed in 2006.According to the broadcasting authority, VOC is an interest-defined community broadcaster licensed to serve the cultural interest of the Muslim community. The station’s mandate is to inform and educate the community about Islam, with an inherent focus on religious teachings. Another focus of VOC’s programming is to report matters of cultural, political, social and economic significance. The Drivetime Show is hosted by Shafiq Morton and has a national and international flavour. Hosted by seasoned photo-journalist and writer Yazeed Kamaldien who has a passion for community news, the 2 hour discussion show is interactive with the lines open for people to voice their opinions while the experts answer the questions. Zonnebloem (Dutch for sunflower) is a suburb in City of Cape Town metropolitan municipality in the Western Cape province of South Africa, previously part of District Six. It was a farming estate until the early 19th century, when it became a suburb of Cape Town as the population and city boundaries grew. Zonnebloem became a home to freed slaves, merchants, labourers and immigrants. During apartheid, the area of District Six was declared a white-only area and the previous residents were forcefully evicted under the Group Areas Act of the apartheid regime. The suburb hosts the District Six Campus of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

The Right2Know Campaign is a South African non-profit advocacy organisation established in 2010 to reduce state secrecy in the drafting of laws, increase access to information, and protect freedom of expression especially on the internet. As part of this, the campaign monitors and challenges potential legislation that it believes would infringe on personal liberties and transparent government. It is the first such organisation of its kind in post-Apartheid South Africa.
