Many communities such as Seven Meadows, Grand Lakes, and Cinco Ranch are zoned to the school. While the school has a Katy address, it is within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Houston, and is a high school of the Katy Independent School District (KISD).

It is located off Cinco Ranch Boulevard within the community of Cinco Ranch; it is in the Cinco Ranch census-designated place. The school opened in 1999. The principal is Dr. Kaye Williams. The school was rated the 3rd best high school in 2007 tied with Clements High School in the Houston region by the Houston Chronicle. In 2010, Cinco Ranch High School was ranked 478th out of America's top 2,000 public high schools.The school was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2008.

This lifestyle center serves as the conventional mall for Greater Katy.

Jordan High School is a senior high school in Fulshear, Texas. It is a part of the Katy Independent School District (KISD). It opened to students in the fall of 2020.It was collectively named after the Jordan family. The building had a cost of over $206 million. Its size is above 650,000 square feet (60,000 m2) of space. It has three gymnasiums, an eight-lane, 25-yard (75 ft) natatorium, a 900-seat performing arts center, 9 tennis courts, a football field and baseball stadium with a smaller softball stadium. All the grade levels share the school equally; there are no segregated grade level areas. Jordan High School also has 2 cafeterias to fit its many students, with one being significantly larger than the other. Jordan opened in fall 2020 with only freshman and sophomores, but has grown to house juniors and seniors as of the 2022-2023 school year. The first class that graduated out of the school will be the Class of 2023.It took territory from Seven Lakes High School and Obra D. Tompkins High School. The school is the ninth comprehensive high school that its school district has established. It is also the biggest high school in Katy ISD.Jordan High School takes students in from Adams Junior High School and Seven Lakes Junior High School. Jordan High School is known for its quick achievements from sports and extracurricular, and is known to be a rising school for its sports teams.

Katy Mills is a shopping mall in Katy, Texas, within the Houston metropolitan area, gradually growing into a premier tourist destination on the west side of Houston. The Katy Independent School District (KISD) is a public school district based in Katy, Texas, United States with an enrollment of over 85,700 students. In 2022, the district was given a grade of "A" by the Texas Education Agency. The district serves 181 square miles (469 km2) in parts of Harris County, Fort Bend County and Waller County. Most of the district lies within the boundaries of the City of Houston, the City of Katy or their municipalities' extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). Unincorporated areas in Katy ISD include Barker, Cinco Ranch, and Cimarron. All residential areas of the district are assigned to an elementary school, a junior high school, and a high school by subdivision.

The Leonard E. Merrell Center (commonly known as the Merrell Center) is a 7,200-seat multi-purpose arena in Katy, Texas. It was built in 2005 and was the former home of the Katy Copperheads (National Indoor Football League) and the Katy Ruff Riders of the Intense Football League. The Merrell Center has hosted the Southland Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments from 2008 to 2022, but both tournaments will move to The Legacy Center on the campus of McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 2023. The Houston Stallions of the Lone Star Football League moved to the Merrell Center in 2011. As a concert venue the arena seats 1,500 for theater shows and up to 7,200 for arena concerts. Capacity for athletic events is 5,794. The arena can seat up to 1,200 for banquets. The arena contains a 21,600-square-foot (120' by 180') arena floor, big enough for small trade shows, a 3,000-square-foot (280 m2) meeting room that can be divisible into three smaller rooms, and a 6,300-square-foot (590 m2) lobby. The arena is also used for commencement ceremonies and high school basketball. Adjacent to the Merrell Center is the Katy ISD L. D. Robinson Pavilion & Rodeo Arena.

The B. Ray and Charlotte Woods House is a historic house in Katy, Texas, U.S.. It was built in 1951 for Ray Woods, the owner of a lumberyard. It was designed in the ranch-style architectural style by Wylie W. Vale. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since January 6, 2004. In 2007, it was owned by Hill Adams, who served on Katy's city council. During a site visit in August 2020, the house was observed to have been destroyed.

The MKT Depot or MKT Railroad Depot is a steam locomotive depot located in Katy, Texas. The Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad services commenced railway operations in 1894 and diminished the rail transport service by 1957 for the connection junction at Katy, Texas. In 2005, the MKT Railroad Museum was relocated to the first street address in Katy, Texas.
