Chelwood

The Church of St Leonard is a redundant church in Chelwood, Somerset, England. It was built in the 14th century and has been designated as a Grade II* listed building.The church was largely rebuilt during restoration around 1860. The font is Norman with tiny volutes at the edges and a top frieze of something like lambrequins. These have been described as the remains of locking staples used to prevent witches stealing the holy water. The stained glass has various 16th-century Flemish bits in the south aisle window.The two stage west tower contains a bell dating from 1773 and made by Abraham Bilbie of the Bilbie family.

Lord's Wood is a woodland southeast of the village of Pensford in the Chew Valley, south of Bristol, England. The wood largely consists of planted conifers, however some broad-leaved areas remain.A number of small streams flow northward through the wood, converging and then eventually meeting the River Chew to the north. There is a well-vegetated pond near the centre of the wood. Hunstrete Lake lies just to the southeast of the wood.

Hunstrete Lake (grid reference ST646622) is a mature lake of 5 acres (20,000 m2). Two new lakes of 3.5 acres (14,000 m2) were constructed alongside in the 1990s. They are situated just to the south of the village of Hunstrete, Somerset; south of Bristol, and 7 miles (11 km) west of Bath. It is surrounded by a belt of trees, and at the north-west end this merges into Lord's Wood, Pensford. The lakes are used for angling, and are noted for their carp and tench.

Woollard is a small village on the River Chew in the affluent Chew Valley in England. It is in the Bath and North East Somerset council area and the ceremonial county of Somerset. The village is 7 miles (11 km) from Bristol, 9 miles (14 km) from Bath, and 4 miles (6.4 km) from Keynsham. The special architectural and historic interest of Woollard was recognised by its designation as a Conservation Area on 25 July 1990.

The Chew Valley Brewery is a microbrewery based in Pensford, Somerset, England. The brewery was opened in 2014 by Dom Lowe and Matt Stalker, after training at Masters Brewery in Wellington. The company logo uses an illustration of the Pensford Viaduct. First sales of their Pagan bitter were at the Stoke Inn in Chew Stoke, and are now available at several pubs in the Chew Valley including The Stoke Inn Chew Stoke, Druids Arms Stanton Drew, Rising Sun and George & Dragon in Pensford and The Old Bank in Keynsham. Currently two beers are brewed: Pagan (3.9% abv) brewed with Maris Otter barley and hopped with Fuggles and Golding hops. The pump clips show a tree on Pagan's Hill, Chew Stoke close to the site of the Pagans Hill Roman Temple. Druid (4.4% abv). The pump clips depict the Stanton Drew stone circles.

Clutton railway station served the village of Clutton, Somerset, England from 1873 to 1959 on the Bristol and North Somerset Railway.

Maynard Terrace is a relatively untouched set of traditional miner's cottages with a unique history, built on the edge of the village of Clutton, Somerset by Francis Greville, 5th Earl of Warwick.

Pensford is the largest village in the civil parish of Publow in Somerset, England. It lies in the Chew Valley, approximately 7 miles (11 km) south of Bristol, 8 miles (13 km) west of Bath, and 14 miles (23 km) north of Wells. It is on the A37 road from Bristol to Shepton Mallet. Pensford was identified as being of special architectural and historic interest and was designated as a Conservation Area in May 1988.

The Church of All Saints in Publow, Somerset, England, dates from the 14th century has a 15th-century tower with gargoyles. The pulpit is Jacobean. It has been designated a Grade I listed building.The church consists of a west tower, nave, north aisle and porch, south aisle and porch, and chancel. The west tower, which was built around 1467, has four stages with set back buttresses terminating in diagonally set pinnacles at the bell chamber stage. One of the bells is engraved with the arms of Sir Francis Popham.The nave has a clerestorey of four 2-light trefoil-headed windows. The east end of the chancel has an early Perpendicular (restored) 3-light window with reticulated tracery. The pulpit dates from the early 17th century and is made of oak with carved, arcaded panels to the upper part and rosettes on the lower part.Major reconstruction was undertaken around the 1890s to plans developed by Arthur Blomfield at a cost of £1,400.The register dates from 1569.

Clutton was a rural district in Somerset, England, from 1894 to 1974. It was created in 1894 under the Local Government Act 1894 as a successor to the rural sanitary district. In 1974 it was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972. The parishes in the district became part of the Non-metropolitan district of Wansdyke in the newly formed County of Avon. Avon was itself abolished in 1996 and the administration of Clutton became the responsibility of the new unitary authority of Bath and North East Somerset (BANES). BANES took over the parishes of Cameley, Chelwood, Chew Magna, Chew Stoke, Clutton, Compton Martin, East Harptree, Farmborough, Farrington Gurney, High Littleton, Hinton Blewett, Nempnett Thrubwell, Norton Malreward, Paulton, Publow, Stanton Drew, Stowey-Sutton, Timsbury, Ubley and West Harptree. The parishes of Chilcompton, Litton and Ston Easton became the responsibility of the Mendip Council (within Somerset County Council).
