St George's Church, Portobello

The Diamond is a building in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, part of the University of Sheffield. Housing specialist engineering facilities as well as seminar room and open plan study spaces, it was completed in September 2015 at a cost of £81 million, the largest capital investment ever made by the university. It is situated on Leavygreave Road, between the Jessop Wing and St George's Church.

The Department of Archaeology at the University of Sheffield, UK, is an academic department providing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in archaeology and its sub-disciplines based in the city of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. It conducts archaeological associated research with several dedicated research centres. It was founded in 1976, stemming from early archaeology programs in the 1960s as one of the first universities in the UK with a dedicated Department of Archaeology.The department's current research specialisms include Prehistoric Europe, Classical Antiquity, Medieval Archaeology and Post-Medieval Britain, as well as landscape archaeology, funerary archaeology, material culture studies, zooarchaeology, osteology, bioarchaeology, and the archaeology of the Mediterranean. From its inception in the 1960s, Sheffield developed a worldwide reputation for leading the science-based revolution in archaeology and theoretical turns in archaeological interpretation. As of May 2021, the department is under threat of closure or merging into other departments. The department would close at the end of the 2023/24 academic year.

The Sir Frederick Mappin Building, or more familiarly the Mappin Building, is a grade II-listed building fronting onto Mappin Street, Sheffield, England, part of the University of Sheffield. The building and street (formerly Charlotte Street) are named after Sir Frederick Mappin (1821–1910), the so-called Father of Sheffield University.

The Jessop Hospital for Women was a hospital in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. At the time of its closure in 2001, it was managed by the Central Sheffield University Hospitals NHS Trust.

St. George's Quarter is one of the eleven "quarters" located in the centre of Sheffield, Yorkshire, devised in the 1994 City Centre Strategy. It is bounded by Upper Hanover Street to the west, West Street to the south, Rockingham Street to the east and Broad Lane to the north.It developed around and is named after St. George's Church, which is now used as a lecture theatre by the University of Sheffield. Much of the quarter is given over to buildings and departments of the university, including a library, health centre, computer room, departments of engineering and materials science (with history, English and modern languages linguistics to follow in the new Jessop West Department Building, with music in the old Jessop Hospital).

Glossop Road Baths is a building in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, which originally housed a swimming pool and Turkish baths. The first public baths in the city were opened on the site in 1836, following the cholera epidemic of 1832. The complex was rebuilt from 1877 to 1879 to a design by E. M. Gibbs, including an indoor swimming pool was opened, a Turkish bath suite and a hairdresser. In 1898, the complex was bought by the city council and a ladies' bath was added. The facade was rebuilt in 1908–1910 by Arthur Nunweek. After a period of decline at the end of the 20th century and later closure of the baths, the building was largely converted to residential accommodation, with a Wetherspoons bar called "The Swim Inn" in the former main swimming pool area. The Turkish baths were fully modernised and reopened as Spa 1877 in 2004, but closed again in 2019.

The Ella Armitage Building, formerly known as the Sheffield Bioincubator is a former innovation centre in Sheffield, England. It contained offices and laboratories for small and medium enterprises in emerging technology and related areas and with links to the University of Sheffield. The building is owned, managed and run by the University of Sheffield. The building was closed to commercial activity in 2017 and was incorporated into the University of Sheffield's teaching and research space and renamed the Ella Armitage Building. The building houses the modern languages teaching centre, Grantham Centre and the Department of Archeology.

West One is also the name of a retail park in Salford. West One is a mixed-use development at the centre of the Devonshire Quarter in the city centre of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It comprises bars, restaurants and shops at ground-level (including the large Revolution bar) and apartments housing over 1,000 people above, including a penthouse. It faces onto Devonshire Green, (restored in 2007) and provides easy access to the Moor and Division Street. The West One Peak lift has been out of commission since October 2022.

Jessop West is a building in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and is part of the University of Sheffield. Designed by Berlin-based architectural firm Sauerbruch Hutton, it was completed in 2009, and is on the corner of Leafygreave Road and Upper Hanover Street, opposite the Information Commons.

The Bath Hotel is a pub in Broomhall district of Sheffield, in England. The building was built in about 1868, as a grocers' shop at the end of a terrace of houses, on Victoria Street. The grocery also operated as a beerhouse, and it was sold to Ind Coope in 1914. Around this date, it became a dedicated pub, named after the nearby Glossop Road Baths. In 1931, the brewery extended it into the neighbouring house and remodelled the entire pub. It retains almost all of its fittings from this period. It was Grade II listed in 1999, and also appears on the Campaign for Real Ale's (CAMRA) National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors. It was restored in 2001, the work winning the national Pub Conservation Award. The building is three storeys high at the front, and two at the back, the two fronts meeting at a sharp corner. The lowest part of the walls are tiled, and the original leaded windows survive, some with stained glass. There is a toilet block at the rear, added in 1931. Inside, there are two bars, a lounge snug in the corner with a serving hatch, and a main bar, linked by corridor, which also has access to the serving area, designed to allow stand up drinking.Features from the 1931 remodelling include the tiled floor, counter with tiled front, fixed seating and internal doors. Historic England describes it as "an unusually complete example of a Sheffield corner public house".

Somme Barracks, Sheffield is a military establishment situated on Glossop Road in Sheffield, England. The building is owned by the Ministry of Defence and serves as the base of the University of Sheffield Officers' Training Corps which is part of the Army Reserve. It is a Grade II listed building.

The Devonshire Quarter is an area in the centre of Sheffield, England. Its heart is the Division Street and Devonshire Street shopping areas, known for their small independent shops and variety of pubs and bars. The district also has The Forum shopping centre and Devonshire Green, one of the largest open areas in central Sheffield. To the west, the quarter is bounded by Sheffield's inner ring road and includes a small social housing estate. Glossop Road and West Street are to the north, Carver Street to the east, and Moore Street and Charter Row to the south-east.
