Little Bromley

St Mary the Virgin's Church is a former Anglican church near the village of Little Bromley, Essex, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of The Churches Conservation Trust. The church stands to the south of the village, adjacent to Little Bromley Hall.

Lawford is a large village and civil parish in the Tendring district of northeast Essex, England. It is approximately 6 miles (10 km) northeast from the centre of Colchester and west of, and contiguous with, Manningtree. Mistley merges with the east side of Manningtree. Lawford has two junior schools, Lawford Church of England Primary School and Highfields Primary School, situated near Manningtree High School. The 14th-century parish Church of St Mary is a Grade I listed building. Ogilvie Hall is the name of the village hall on Wignall Street, and there is a more modern facility called The Venture Centre off Bromley Road.The Leftley Housing estate, situated towards the east of the village, is a typical 1960s development of mainly semi-detached houses and bungalows. More recent housing developments include the Summers park and Lawford Dale housing estates constructed by Rose builders, and Manningtree Park, which as of 2023 is currently under construction. The area includes a number of smallholdings originally built by the Land Settlement Association.

Manningtree High School is a secondary school with academy status in Lawford, Manningtree, Essex, England. The school has specialist status in Science. The headteacher is Mr Benjamin Briggs. The school have recently added a "Multi Use Games Area" (all weather pitch) on the field.

It lies 6 kilometres (4 mi) south of Manningtree and 9 kilometres (6 mi) east of Colchester and includes the hamlets of Balls Green, Hare Green and Bromley Cross. The A120 trunk road (with the A133 as a spur off it) cuts right through the middle of the parish.

Veolia Water East, formerly known as Tendring Hundred Water Services, was a privately owned company supplying water to the Tendring peninsula in north east Essex within an area of 352 square kilometres (136 sq mi). In July 2009, the company, a subsidiary of Veolia Water UK since 1989, part of Veolia Environment, changed its name from Tendring Hundred Water. In 2012, following the sale of Veolia Water's UK water supply business, it was merged with Veolia Water Southeast and Veolia Water Central to form Affinity Water on 1 October 2012.

Manningtree is a town and civil parish in the Tendring district of Essex, England, which lies on the River Stour. It is part of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Manningtree railway station is on the Great Eastern Main Line (GEML) in the East of England, serving the town of Manningtree, Essex. It is 59 miles 35 chains (95.66 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Colchester to the west and Ipswich to the east. The three-letter station code is MNG. It is also the western terminus of the Mayflower Line, a branch line to Harwich Town. The following station on the branch is Mistley. The station is currently operated by Greater Anglia, who also operate all trains serving it, as part of the East Anglia franchise.

The Corn Exchange is a commercial building in the High Street in Manningtree, Essex, England. The structure, which is now used as a public library, is a Grade II listed building.

Hare Green is a hamlet on Harwich Road, in the Tendring district, in the English county of Essex. In 2018 it had an estimated population of 707. Hare Green is located within the civil parish of Great Bromley. There are several listed buildings including Hill House and Fleece House, both a Grade II listed 17th century properties.

Cattawade Marshes is an 88.2-hectare (218-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest between East Bergholt and Manningtree in Essex and Suffolk. It is managed by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. It is a Ramsar wetland of international importance, and part of the Stour and Orwell Special Protection Area, and the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.The site is a marsh area between two arms of the River Stour. It is of major importance for breeding birds, especially waders and wildfowl, such as Shoveler, Teal, Tufted Duck and Water Rail. Other habitats are grassland and ditches.There is no public access but the site can be viewed from a public footpath on the south side of the river.
