Mynydd William Meyrick

Cwmparc is a village and a district of the community of Treorchy, in the Rhondda Valley, Wales.

The A4061 is the main road linking Bridgend with Hirwaun via the Ogmore and Rhondda Valleys in South Wales. It is a mix of streets connecting former mining communities, and mountain passes built as relief work for unemployed miners. The road was originally a dead-end from Bridgend along the Ogmore Valley built in the 19th century, but concerns over travel difficulties, environment and post-World War I unemployment in the Rhondda led to a series of mountain roads being planned. The road was initially extended over the Bwlch-y-Clawdd towards Treorchy in 1928. A further section, from Treherbert northward to Hirwaun, opened the following year. As well as improving communications and transport, the A4061 allowed locals to visit the mountain summits easily for leisure purposes. Ice cream vans have been a regular feature at the two summits, Bwlch-y-Clawdd and Rhigos, since the 1930s. The A4061 has been praised for its engineering and scenery, including a feature in National Geographic, and formed part of the Olympic Torch route in the run-up to the 2012 London Olympics.

Price Town is situated 9 miles north of the County Town of Bridgend on the A4061 road in the upper reaches of the Cwm Ogwr Fawr (the Greater Ogmore Valley), Wales. It was developed to provide accommodation for the rapidly increasing work force of the Wyndham and Ocean Western Collieries. Today Price Town is regarded as part of the village Nantymoel.

Nant-y-moel or Nantymoel [nant ə mɔi̯l] (meaning "stream from the bare mountain") is a village and includes the formerly separate village of Pricetown in the county borough of Bridgend, Wales on the River Ogmore, and is one of the constituent villages of the Ogmore Valley. It is bordered by the village of Wyndham to the south and by the Bwlch y Clawdd mountain to the north.

Nantymoel railway station served the village of Nant-y-moel, in the historical county of Glamorgan, Wales, from 1873 to 1958 on the Ogmore Valley Railway.

Treorchy Comprehensive School is an English language, comprehensive school in the village of Treorchy, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. The school is situated on the southern side of the valley, and is 500 metres in length from the main gate on Conway Road, Cwmparc, to the rear gate at Tylecoch Bridge, Treorchy. Pupils who are identified as being proficient in Welsh will study RE, History, PE, PSHE and Geography through the medium of Welsh at KS3. At KS4, first language Welsh is offered at GCSE.

Ysbyty George Thomas (English: George Thomas Hospital) is a health facility on Cwmparc Road, Treorchy, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It is managed by the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

Treorchy railway station is a railway station serving the town of Treorchy and village of Cwmparc in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It is located on the Rhondda Line.

The Parc and Dare Hall, now known as the Park and Dare Theatre (Welsh: Theatr y Parc a'r Dâr) , is a former Miners' institute but now serves as a large entertainment venue in the village of Treorchy, in the Rhondda Valley of Wales. Since the demolition of the Abercynon Workingmen's Hall, the Parc and Dare Workingmen's Hall is the largest in the South Wales Coalfield. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Treorchy (Welsh: Treorci; Welsh pronunciation) is a town and community (and electoral ward) in Wales. Once a mining town, it retains the characteristics of one. Situated in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf in the Rhondda Fawr valley. Treorchy is also one of the 16 communities of the Rhondda. It includes the villages of Cwmparc and Ynyswen.

Noddfa or Noddfa Welsh Baptist Chapel (Welsh: Capel Bedyddwyr Cymraeg Noddfa), was located in Treorchy in the Rhondda Valley. It was one of the largest Baptist churches in the South Wales valleys, and one of the largest and grandest of all Welsh chapels.

Tylacoch Halt railway station served the village of Ynyswen, in the historic county of Glamorgan, Wales, from 1906 to 1912 on the Taff Vale Railway.
