Bienal de Arte de Ponce is a biennial international art exhibition that takes place in Ponce, Puerto Rico, during the month of November. The event is sponsored by the Commission on the Arts of the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce. It has been called "the most important art biennial in Puerto Rico." As a biennial event, it takes place once every two years.

The U.S. Customs House (Spanish: Aduana de Ponce), located at Bonaire and Aduana streets in barrio La Playa, Ponce, Puerto Rico, is the oldest customs house in Puerto Rico, and the only one of its type under the U.S. flag. As of 10 February 1988, the building was owned by the U.S. Customs Service, Washington, D.C. The building is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places as "U.S. Custom House". It was listed on 10 February 1988.

Fuerte de San José, also known as Fuerte de la Playa de Ponce, was an 18th-19th-century Spanish fortress located in Barrio Playa in the municipality of Ponce, Puerto Rico. It was part of a three-fort system design to defend the Port of Ponce, the Barrio Playa seaport village and the City of Ponce from seaborne attacks. However, only two of the three fortifications materialized, with Fuerte San José being the largest and most complete. The fort was in operation 125 years, from 1760 to 20 March 1885, and was demolished in 1907 by order of the Puerto Rico Legislature to make room for the growing civilian population of Barrio Playa. Fuerte de San José has been compared to Fortín de San Gerónimo in San Juan, in terms of design, purpose and size.

Edificio Empresas Ferré (Spanish for 'Ferré Enterprises building'), today known as the Centros Sor Isolina Ferré Building, is a historic mid 20th-century International-style building located in the Ponce Playa area in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico. It was designed by architect Robert M. Little as both workshop facilities and the administrative offices of Ferré Enterprises (Empresas Ferré), founded by Luis A. Ferré and the parent company of enterprises such as Ponce Cement and Puerto Rico Iron Works that boomed during the rapid industrialization period of Operation Bootstrap (Operación Manos a la Obra) in the aftermath of World War II.The building also hosts La Fundición, a mural painted by famed muralist Rafael Ríos Rey in 1953. Both the building and the mural were listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2013 due to their architectural, artistic and historic significance. Edificio Empresas Ferré today hosts the Trinity College of Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico Iron Works (founded as Porto Rico Iron Works) was a heavy industry iron foundry located in barrio La Playa in Ponce, Puerto Rico. The company was founded in 1918. The foundry "was Puerto Rico's most prolific steel bridge fabricator in the 20th Century" and the largest iron foundry in the Antilles. At its peak, it employed over 700 people. It closed in 1973.

McCabe Memorial Church, also known as Iglesia Metodista Unida de la Playa de Ponce, is a historic church building in Barrio Playa in Ponce, Puerto Rico. It dates from 1908, and was designed by Antonin Nechodoma. It was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 2008. It is one of four places such listed in Barrio Playa, the others being the U.S. Customs House, the Caja de Muertos Light, and the Cardona Island Light.

The Municipal Building of Ponce Playa (Spanish: Edificio Municipal de la Playa de Ponce or Ponce Playa) is a historic building and former civic center and municipal offices of the Playa barrio (Ponce Playa) of the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico. The municipal building was intended to serve the Ponce Playa settlement which had significantly grown thanks to the economic and industrial activities of the Port of Ponce. It was designed by engineer Manuel V. Domenech and municipal chief engineer Victor A. Auffant in a Renaissance-inspired Spanish Revival style and built in 1904. It hosted municipal offices in addition to a police station, jailhouse and fire station. It also provided social services to the local community such as first aid and civic offices. Although the building is no longer in official municipal use it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2013 due to its architectural and local historic significance.

Villa Pesquera is a sea-front fishing village in barrio Playa, in the municipality of Ponce, Puerto Rico. The site is one of the tourist attractions in the municipality of Ponce.

WLEO (1170 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Spanish Oldies format. Licensed to Ponce, Puerto Rico, it serves the Puerto Rico area. The station is currently owned by the Episcopal Diocese of Puerto Rico.

The Rafael Cordero Santiago Port of the Americas —Spanish: Puerto de las Américas Rafael Cordero Santiago (PLA)— is a megaport currently under construction in Ponce, Puerto Rico. The project aims to convert the current Port of Ponce into a value-added tax-free customs-free international shipping hub similar to, though not as large as, the megaports located in Singapore and Rotterdam. The Port of the Americas is Puerto Rico's main Caribbean port, and, at a depth of 50 feet, it is also the deepest port in the Caribbean.The port was originally overseen by the Port of the Americas Authority (Spanish: Autoridad del Puerto de las Américas) a defunct government-owned corporation of Puerto Rico. As of December 2012, it was overseen by the newly created Autoridad del Puerto de Ponce. The Authority reported that when completed, the new port will have a storage capacity of 2.2 Million TEUs. The Authority also reported that the port handled an estimated 504,044 short tons of cargo in 2007, and projected it to handle over 1.5 million in 2012.On 12 December 2011, the government of Puerto Rico transferred control of the port to the Ponce municipal government, when governor Luis Fortuño signed to create the Ponce Port Authority—Spanish: Autoridad del Puerto de Ponce (APP)— an independent government-owned corporation ascribed to the Ponce municipal government.

WZMT (93.3 FM), branded on-air as Zeta 93, is a radio station licensed to Ponce, Puerto Rico, the station serves the Puerto Rico area. The station is currently owned by Spanish Broadcasting System Holding Company, Inc.

Paseo Tablado La Guancha (English: La Guancha Boardwalk) is a boardwalk in the La Guancha sector of the Playa barrio in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico, facing the Caribbean Sea. It was built under the mayoral administration of Rafael Cordero Santiago, Mayor of Ponce from 1989 to 2004, at a cost of 2.6 million dollars, and inaugurated on 23 June 1998. It receives over 750,000 visitors a year. In September 2017 the boardwalk was damaged by Hurricane Maria and the area closest to the water was fenced off and off-limits to the public, but the rest of the facilities continued to operate uninterrupted. In January 2020, however, while still fenced off from the 2017 hurricane damage, the boardwalk—together with its adjoining recreational complex—closed when the area suffered severe damage from the 2020 Puerto Rico earthquakes and, as of 17 June 2020, it remained closed. By late 2020 arrangements were made for the merchants that operated from waterfront kiosks to reopen their businesses out of provisional facilities at a temporary location away from the waterfront while reconstruction of the waterfront area takes place.
