Strathleven House

The Bruce Tree was an oak tree that stood on the grounds of Strathleven House in Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It is reputed to have been planted by Robert the Bruce and was between 700 and 1,000 years old when it fell from an arson attack in May 2004. The timber from the tree was saved and used to form a replica of the Bruce's throne.

Tontine Park was a football ground in Renton, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It was the home ground of Renton F.C. from 1878 until 1922, including their time in the Scottish Football League.

Renton is particularly famous for the village's association football side. Renton was one of the 11 founder members of the Scottish Football League and winners of the 1885 and 1888 Scottish Cup, producing many famous players.

The Vale of Leven (Scottish Gaelic: Magh Leamhna) is an area of West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, in the valley of the River Leven. Historically, it was part of The Lennox, the name of which derives from the Gaelic term Leamhnach, meaning field of the Leven. Leamnha is thought to mean elm-water.Geographically the valley of the Vale of Leven runs from Loch Lomond in the north to Dumbarton in the south. However, the term "Vale of Leven" or just "The Vale" is commonly used locally to refer to the urban area towards the north of the valley that consists of a number of communities. These were historically separate villages but have expanded into one conurbation. The largest of these communities is the town of Alexandria, which sits on the west bank of the Leven. Alexandria is connected to the village of Renton to the south and to the village of Balloch in the north. Across the river from Alexandria Is Bonhill which is connected to Jamestown to the north. The combined population of these areas in 2020 was approximately 22000. The area's name lends itself to Alexandria's local football club, Vale of Leven F.C.; the secondary school, Vale of Leven Academy; the Vale of Leven District General Hospital and other local organisations.

Vale of Leven Academy is a non-denominational secondary school in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. The school serves the surrounding towns of Alexandria, Balloch, Bonhill, Jamestown, and Renton. The current school building, opened in June 2009, has a capacity for approximately 1,100 pupils.

Renton railway station is a railway station serving the village of Renton, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and is served by its trains on the North Clyde Line. It is sited 18 miles 11 chains (29.2 km) northwest of Glasgow Queen Street (High Level), measured via Singer and Maryhill, between Alexandria and Dalreoch, on the line to Balloch.

Millburn Church is a ruined former church in Renton, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It was built in 1845 for the Free Church of Scotland in the Gothic style. It is a category A listed building, and is on the Buildings at Risk Register for Scotland. The architect is thought to have been John Thomas Rochead, though it has also been attributed to George Meikle Kemp, architect of the Scott Monument. The church was disused by 1985, when it was threatened with demolition. It remained empty despite several plans for restoration, and the roof collapsed in the late 1990s. In 2006 a storm blew down the steeple of the building, and in 2009 a further application to demolish the building was lodged. The application was opposed locally, and was withdrawn in 2011. Two of Robert Burns' nieces are buried in the kirkyard.
