Whitemoor is an area of the City of Nottingham. It lies next to Old Basford to the north, New Basford and Hyson Green to the east, Aspley to the west and Beechdale to the south. Melbourne Park is a large public space in Aspley, Nottingham, England. The park is approximately 500 by 600 metres (1,600 by 2,000 ft). In addition to public greenspace, the site has a number of football pitches which are used for Sunday league football matches. The park contains a variety of trees, including lombardy poplars around the playing area, a row of black poplars and a variety of large trees around the perimeter.

Basford is a tram station on Nottingham Express Transit (NET), in the city of Nottingham suburb of Basford. The tram lines here run parallel to the Robin Hood railway line that links Nottingham with Worksop, but there is no corresponding railway station. Both tram and railway lines have two tracks, and the resulting four tracks are crossed by a pedestrian bridge. The tram stop comprises a pair of side platforms on both sides of the tramway.The tram stop is located on the site of the sidings and goods shed of the former Basford Vernon railway station, which opened in 1848 and closed in 1964. The tram stop opened on 9 March 2004, along with the rest of NET's initial system.With the opening of NET's phase two, Basford is now on the common section of the NET, where line 1, between Hucknall and Chilwell, and line 2, between Phoenix Park and Clifton, operate together. Trams on each line run at frequencies that vary between 4 and 8 trams per hour, depending on the day and time of day, combining to provide up to 16 trams per hour on the common section.

Basford United Football Club is a football club based in Basford, a suburb of Nottingham, England. They are currently members of the Northern Premier League Premier Division and play at Greenwich Avenue.

Newark F.C. is a football club that represents the town of Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire but were based in Balderton. They are currently members of the United Counties League Premier Division North and are ground sharing with Basford at Greenwich Avenue following their Lowfields ground being sold to a property developer.

Old Basford is an area of Nottingham located next to New Basford being split by Valley Road/Western Boulevard. The parish church of St Leodegarius was built in the 12th century. The north aisle and north arcade were rebuilt in 1858–59 and the church restored, except for the tower. The church tower collapsed in 1859 and was rebuilt in 1859–61. Near the church is the Manor House of c. 1700.

Highbury Vale is a stop on the Nottingham Express Transit tram system in the city of Nottingham near the boundary between the suburbs of Basford and Bulwell. It serves as the main interchange between the Hucknall and Phoenix Park branches of the initial system - however, NET recommends that people alight at the previous stop rather than change at Highbury Vale, due to the lines splitting at Babbington junction, just before the trams reach the stop. The two separate parts of the tram stop each comprise an island platform flanked by twin tracks. The platform for the Hucknall branch is alongside and parallel to the Robin Hood railway line that links Nottingham and Worksop. The tram and railway tracks are separated by a fence, and there is no stop on the railway line. The platform on the Phoenix Park branch is some 50 m (160 ft) away, and at an angle to the Hucknall platform. Between the two platforms is a small open space, and on the connecting footpath is a display indicating which platform to go to for the next city tram. Immediately to the west of the platform on the Phoenix Park, the twin tracks merge into the single track branch.With the opening of NET's phase two, Highbury Vale is now the more northerly of the two junctions on the NET, where line 1, from Hucknall, meets line 2, from Phoenix Park. South of Highbury Vale the two lines run together through the city centre to a junction just south of Nottingham railway station. Here the two lines split again, with line 1 continuing to Beeston and Chilwell, and line 2 to Wilford and Clifton. Trams on each line run at frequencies that vary between 4 and 8 trams per hour, depending on the day and time of day, combining to provide up to 16 trams per hour on the common section.

St Leodegarius Church, Old Basford is a parish church in the Church of England. The church is Grade II* listed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport as it is a particularly significant building of more than local interest.

Basford Vernon railway station is a disused railway station that was located on the Robin Hood Line between Nottingham and Mansfield.

Bluecoat Aspley Academy is a Church of England secondary school and sixth form located in the Aspley area of Nottingham, England, dating back to 1706. In 2007, the school had 1550 students aged six to eighteen, including 250 Sixth form students. Prior to receiving Academy status in January 2012, the school was titled The Nottingham Bluecoat School and Technology College.
