MOMus Photography, in full MOMus–Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, is located in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. It is currently housed in Warehouse A, Pier A, at the Port of Thessaloniki, next to the Cinema Museum of Thessaloniki. It was formerly known as the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography (Greek: Μουσείο Φωτογραφίας Θεσσαλονίκης).

The Cinema Museum of Thessaloniki is a museum in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. It was founded in 1995 following a decision by the Organization for Thessaloniki, Cultural Capital of Europe 1997. Today it is part of the Thessaloniki Film Festival with its own management committee. It is housed in Warehouse 1, a listed building on quay 1 in the harbour, at the end of the old sea front near Aristotelous Square. The museum's mission is to gather, preserve and display as museum exhibits items from the life of the cinema in Greece. Setting up the museum became feasible following the purchase of the cinematography collection of the Thessaloniki cinematographer Nikos Bililis. Exhibits include machinery, i.e. cine-cameras and projectors, old pieces of cinema equipment and attachments, cinema-film developing tanks, lenses, sub-titling machines etc., celluloid material (films, news reels etc.), photographs from almost two thousand films, gigantic, hand-produced cinema posters, the musical background to all cinema films circulated prior to 1995 on LPs and CDs, and a cinema archive. In the cinema archive visitors and researchers alike can find information about the cinema in Greece from 1985 and on. This includes information about film festivals, public showings of films in Greek cinemas, and biographical data on directors and actors etc. Similar work covering the period from 1926 to 1985 is now approaching completion. The museum provides organized tours and shows excerpts of films in a room specially designed for this purpose.

Ladadika (Greek: Λαδάδικα) is the name of a historic district and a landmark area of the city of Thessaloniki, Greece. It locates near the Port of Thessaloniki and for centuries was one of the most important market places of the city. Its name came about from the many olive oil shops of the area. Many Jews of the city were living there, while the so-called "Frankish district", with the French/Italian merchants and residents, was located beside. In the years before World War I it came to form the red light district, with the area starting to host many brothels. In 1985, Ladakika was listed as a heritage site by the Ministry of Culture. Its notable architectural style with 19th century buildings is preserved and protected. Nowadays, having undergone gentrification in the 1980s, Ladadika forms the entertainment district of the city, hosting bars, nightclubs, restaurants, and pubs in what used to be old oil stores and merchant warehouses, which spill out into a network of pedestrianized streets and small squares, like Morichovou Square, popular place for tourists.

Menorah in flames is a sculpture created in 1997 by Nandor Glid as a Holocaust memorial commemorating deportation of the Thessaloniki Jews. The sculpture, initially built in a suburban area has been installed since 2006 on Eleftherias Square where a major roundup of 9,000 Jewish men took place in 1942. It was the first Holocaust memorial to be built on a public space in Greece and its installation marks a change of attitude of Greek officials towards the remembrance of the Holocaust. The monument is regularly vandalized.

The Museum of Ancient Greek, Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Musical Instruments is a museum in Oia, Santorini, Greece.The three exhibition spaces display over 200 musical instruments, which existed between 2,800 BC and the beginning of the 20th century and have been accurately reconstructed with the help of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki to compose the museum's initial collection. They were made on the basis of pictorial and literary evidence (pottery, sculpture, figurines, illuminated Byzantine manuscripts) using the same materials mentioned in the sources. Each instrument is accompanied by the pictorial evidence of its existence. In many cases it is also possible to hear the sounds they make. Some notable examples include the seven-stringed phorminx of the Minoan period, the double pipes with an air chamber (5th century BC). The bagpipes were played on the Greek islands, by the Greeks of the Black Sea, and in Thrace. Apart from its exhibition space, the museum also has a music library, an electronic archive of scores, and a musicology research department. The museum opened in 1997 and was housed in a restored three-storey building in the Ladadika district in the centre of Thessaloniki, until 2010.

Eleftherias Square (Greek: Πλατεία Ελευθερίας, Platía Eleftherías, Liberty Square) is a central square in downtown Thessaloniki, Greece. It takes its name from the Young Turk Revolution, which began in the square in 1908. The square is currently a car park, but a public competition was launched by the Municipality of Thessaloniki in 2013 to select a design for its redevelopment into a park. Construction was initially expected to start in 2018 at a cost of €5.1 million ($6.03 million).The square is bound by Mitropoleos street to the north, Nikis Avenue and the old waterfront of Thessaloniki to the south, Ionos Dragoumi street to the west and Venizelou street to the east. It is trapezoidal in shape and covers an area of approximately 5,087 m2 (54,760 sq ft). The square is surrounded by banks, insurance companies, and offices.On 11 July 1942, thousands of Greek Jewish men were rounded up, publicly tortured and humiliated before being registered for forced labour during the Holocaust in Greece.

Bensousan Han (or Bensoussan Han, Greek: Μπενσουσάν Χαν or Χάνι του Μπενσουσάν) is a building in Thessaloniki's upper Ladadika region (or Istira area), on Edessis street.The foundations and the ground floor were built since 1810 according to the Ottoman archives. Soon the first floor was complete and the building as a whole was a motel. It belonged to Samuel Bensousan, a Jewish citizen of Thessaloniki, who during the last century of the Ottoman era, kept operating the building as a motel or inn ("han" in Turkish language means motel, inn or even small caravanserai). Bensousan Han survived the Great Thessaloniki Fire and kept its use as a motel until c.1930. From then on it has been successively an exotic food store, a spice shop, a tuck shop, a fabric shop as well as a coffee shop. Its last post war use was as a customs office at the end of the 1970s. Then it was abandoned for almost 30 years. Since 2007 it has been gradually rediscovered by the artistic community of Thessaloniki and today it holds theatrical and cultural events, exhibitions and festivals.

Stein Mansion (Greek: Μέγαρο Στάιν) is the name of a historic building in Eleftherias Square, Thessaloniki, Greece. Built in 1906, it was the only building of the square not destroyed by the Great Fire of Thessaloniki in 1917. It was designed by architect Eli Ernst Levi for the Austrian clothing retail brand "Stein’s Oriental Stores Ltd", which had also department stores in Egypt. Later it housed the Hellenic Post Offices, while after WWII it suffered architectural interventions which damaged its initial design.

The Immaculate Conception Cathedral (Greek: Καθεδρικός Ναός της Αμιάντου Συλλήψεως της Θεοτόκου) is a Roman Catholic church located on Frangon street in the city of Thessaloniki, in northern Greece. The church follows the Roman or Latin rite and functions as the seat of the Apostolic Vicariate of Thessaloniki (Vicariatus Apostolicus Thessalonicensis or Αποστολικό Βικαριάτο Θεσσαλονίκης).

The Apostolic Vicariate of Thessaloniki (Latin: Vicariatus Apostolicus Thessalonicensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or apostolic vicariate of the Catholic Church in northern continental Greece. It is exempt to the Holy See and is not part of any ecclesiastical province, and remains vacant under apostolic administrators since its only proper apostolic vicar, Alessandro Guidati, was promoted Archbishop of Naxos, Andros, Tinos and Mykonos in 1929. Its cathedra is within the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, in Thessaloniki.

The Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki (Greek: Εβραϊκό Μουσείο Θεσσαλονίκης, Ladino: Museo Djidio De Salonik) is a museum in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece presenting the history of Sephardic Jews and Jewish life in Thessaloniki. It is also known as: "Museum of Jewish Presence in Thessaloniki", "Jewish History Museum", Greek: "Κέντρο Ιστορικής Διαδρομής Εβραϊσμού Θεσσαλονίκης", "Μουσείο Εβραϊκής Παρουσίας στη Θεσσαλονίκη". The museum is being run by the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki.

The Great Thessaloniki Fire of 1917 (Greek: Μεγάλη Πυρκαγιά της Θεσσαλονίκης, 1917) destroyed two thirds of the city of Thessaloniki, the second-largest city in Greece, leaving more than 70,000 homeless. The fire burned for 32 hours and destroyed 9,500 houses within an extent of 1 square kilometer. Half the Jewish population emigrated from the city as their livelihoods were gone. Rather than quickly rebuilding, the government commissioned the French architect Ernest Hébrard to design a new urban plan for the burned areas and for the future expansion of the city. His designs are still evident in the city, most notably Aristotelous Square, although some of his most grandiose plans were never completed due to a lack of funds. French navy official Dufour de la Thuillerie writes in his report that "I saw Thessaloniki, a city of more than 150,000 people, burn".
