Noordoostpolder Airport was a small airport located near Emmeloord, Netherlands. The airport was named after the Noordoostpolder in which it was located. It was used primarily by gliders and cropduster flights. The airport was closed to make room for a residential area.

Noordoostpolder (Dutch: [ˈnoːrt.oːstˌpɔldər] ; English: "North-East Polder") is a polder and municipality in the Flevoland province in the central Netherlands. Formerly, it was also called Urker Land. Emmeloord is the administrative center, located in the heart of the Noordoostpolder. For history, see Zuiderzee Works.

Sonoy was a restaurant located in Emmeloord, in the Netherlands. It held a Michelin-star rating in the period 2010–2013.Owner and head chef of Sonoy was Paul van Staveren.The restaurant was a member of Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise since 2006.Restaurant Sonoy was located in a former water tower, at a height of 40 meters. It occupied four floors. During the transfer from the old location in Blokzijl to this one, which took five weeks, the staff worked in De Librije in Zwolle.In 2010, the restaurant won the "Sustainable Restaurant of the Year" award from Gault Millau.The Michelin star awarded in 2010 was the first one ever awarded in the (young) province of Flevoland.In March 2013, the municipality of Noordoostpolder, owner of the water tower in which the restaurant was housed, reviewed the future of the tower. A failed renovation caused too many problems. The restaurant closed per 1 July 2013. Paul van Staveren received a compensation of about € 275,000, but still lost about half of the money he invested in the restaurant in 2010, based on a ten-year tenancy contract.

The Poldertoren is a water tower at the town center of Emmeloord, Netherlands. The Dutch name Poldertoren could be translated as Polder Tower. The 65-meter tower was built in 1959 and has a large carillon. The tower is no longer in use as a water tower. The owner of the tower was the water company, Vitens, but since 2005 the municipality of Noordoostpolder has owned the tower. A replica of this watertower exists in Japan.

Emmeloord is the administrative centre of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, Flevoland, Netherlands. In 2019, it had a population of 26,055.

Creil is one of the ten so-called green villages (Dutch: groendorpen) in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, and lies about 6 km northwest of Emmeloord.

Luttelgeest is a village in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, and was created in 1950 as one of ten planned villages around the new city of Emmeloord.

Espel is one of the so-called green villages (Dutch: groendorpen) in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It lies in the municipality of Noordoostpolder next to a crossroads where provincial road N712 from Urk to Lemmer intersects with road N714 to Emmeloord, roughly 6 km to the east.

Tollebeek is a village in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, and is approximately 90 kilometres north east of Amsterdam. Tollebeek is one of ten villages in the Noordoostpolder (literally: North East Polder) which was reclaimed from the Zuiderzee (now: IJsselmeer) in the 1930s and 1940s as part of a huge project known as the 'Zuiderzeewerken' ('Zuiderzee works') to create new land to accommodate growing need for farmland and new urban areas in the already densely populated country. After the Noordoostpolder was formed in the early 1940s, new villages were constructed, including Tollebeek (being constructed last). It is situated in the south-western part of the polder, in the middle of a large agricultural area, between Emmeloord and Urk which used to be an island in the old Zuiderzee. Tollebeek was established in 1956 as the last of the Noordoostpolder villages.As of the first of January 2020 Tollebeek has 2460 inhabitants. Tollebeek is growing a lot due to new residential areas in the past 20 years. The village has grown significantly since the start of this century. Tollebeek has a thriving community culture, with several sports, arts and youth clubs. There are two churches (Roman Catholic and Protestant), two primary schools, a restaurant, two fast food bars and a small supermarket.

Marknesse is a village in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, and lies about 7.5 kilometres (4.7 mi) east of Emmeloord.

Nagele is a village in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, and lies about 10 km south of Emmeloord.

Ens is a village in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Noordoostpolder, and lies about 10 km southeast of Emmeloord. In 2019, Ens had 3,065 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.57 km², and contained 846 residences.
