Pleschinger See is a lake of Upper Austria. The Pleschinger See is a recreational area located in the northwest of the municipality Steyregg, Upper Austria. It encompasses the lake, the green belt with various parking lots, restaurants and takeaways, as well as playgrounds, camping and a small garden since 2004. For nudists, there is a separate nudist area since 29 May 1982 at the lake. Due to its location directly adjacent to the city border to Linz it is often used by the people of Linz.

The Linz hot strip mill is a "fully integrated steel works" operated by voestalpine Stahl GmbH, a part of the steel division of voestalpine AG. In addition to Linz the most important plants are in Leoben in Styria and in Krems in Lower Austria. It had a large plant at Liezen in Styria which closed in the 1990s. Voestalpine is responsible for 10% of all Austrian CO2 emissions, which makes it the biggest emitter in the country.The name of the company amalgamates its two principal components, the VÖEST (Vereinigte Österreichische Eisen und Stahlwerke) in Upper Austria, established through nationalization in July 1946, and the ÖAMG (Österreichische-Alpine Montangesellschaft) in Styria, established in 1881.

The Skulpturenpark Artpark (Sculpture garden Artpark) is a sculpture garden in the city of Linz, Austria, where more than 20 artists had created their sculptures. The size of the garden is over 5.000 square meters.

Europagymnasium Auhof is a public school for the grades 5 to 12, preparing Students for University, located in Linz, Upper Austria. It has three branches, a science branch, a French branch and an English taught branch.

Linz International School Auhof (LISA) is a Public secondary school offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma as well as the Austrian school leaving certificate (Matura). The language of instruction is German and English during the first two years (grades 5 and 6), and then English. LISA is administrated as one of three school branches of the Europagymnasium Auhof. As of 2009, approximately 450 students attend this school branch. English is used as a language of instruction in all subjects. English teaching materials are adapted by the teachers to suit the difficulty level of the students. Language assistants encourage students to try out new words and structures. These situations promote natural conversation with native speakers and the students have the opportunity to practice English in practically all of the subjects. Tutorials, which take place primarily in the first year, are lessons in which only two students work with one native speaker. In that way, the students do not only receive full attention, but also experience their own language skills more directly. Student-centered work with authentic English resources is among the most common methods applied from the very beginning.

Linz AG Eisarena is an indoor sporting arena located in Linz, Austria. The Linz AG Eisarena has been called the "Keine Sorgen EisArena" since 2008 as a result of a sponsorship deal with an Austrian insurance group. The arena has a capacity of 4,863 people, with around 1,000 seats and was built in 1986. It is currently home of the EHC Black Wings Linz ice hockey team. Donauhalle also refers to an exhibition complex in Ulm, Germany.

The Bundesrealgymnasium Linz Fadingerstraße (Fadingergymnasium) is a specialized secondary school in the city center of Linz, Austria. It is located on Fadingerstraße, between Pochestraße and Bethlehemstraße. The school is a grammar school focusing on media and sciences, and offers both lower and upper secondary education with optional Matura.

The Johannes Kepler University Linz (German: Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, short: JKU) is a public university in Austria. It is located in Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. It offers bachelor's, master's, diploma and doctoral degrees in business, engineering, law, science, social sciences and medicine. Today, 19,930 students study at the park campus in the northeast of Linz, with one out of nine students being from abroad. The university was the first in Austria to introduce an electronic student ID in 1998. The university is the home of the Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. In 2012, the Times Higher Education ranked the JKU at # 41 and in 2015 at # 87 in its list of the top 100 universities under 50 years old. According to the 2012 ranking, the JKU was the fifth best young university in German-speaking Europe. The university attained high scores for quotations, third-party funding, and internationalization efforts.

The Catholic Private University Linz is one of four universities in Linz, the capital of Upper Austria, with approximately 500 students enrolled. Its roots go back to 1672 and it is a Papal faculty since 1978. It is an accredited private university but its tuition fees currently (as of December 2004) match those of Austria's public universities.

The Führermuseum or Fuhrer-Museum (English: Leader's Museum), also referred to as the Linz art gallery, was an unrealized art museum within a cultural complex planned by Adolf Hitler for his hometown, the Austrian city of Linz, near his birthplace of Braunau. Its purpose was to display a selection of the art bought, confiscated or stolen by the Nazis from throughout Europe during World War II. The cultural district was to be part of an overall plan to recreate Linz, turning it into a cultural capital of Nazi Germany and one of the greatest art centers of Europe, overshadowing Vienna, for which Hitler had a personal distaste. He wanted to make the city more beautiful than Budapest, so it would be the most beautiful on the Danube River, as well as an industrial powerhouse and a hub of trade; the museum was planned to be one of the greatest in Europe.The expected completion date for the project was 1950, but neither the Führermuseum nor the cultural centre it was to anchor were ever built. The only part of the elaborate plan which was constructed was the Nibelungen Bridge, which is still extant.
