Ormsby–Rosser House

The Sears–Ferris House, at 311 W Third Street in Carson City, Nevada, is a historic house built in 1863. It was owned from 1868 to 1890 by George Washington Gale Ferris Sr., father of George Washington Gale Ferris Jr., future inventor of the Ferris wheel. It has also been known as the G. W. G. Ferris House. Originally built in about 1863 by Gregory A. Sears, a pioneer Carson City businessman, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places for Carson City in 1979. It includes Colonial Revival and Georgian Revival architecture. This house is square in size and its measure is roughly sixty by sixty feet. It is currently under private ownership and not open to the public.

The William Spence House, at 308 S. Thompson St. in Carson City, Nevada, was built in 1875. It includes Greek Revival architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.It is a two-and-a-half-story, brick building on an 85-by-102-foot (26 m × 31 m) property. It was built by William Mortimer Spence (1822–1920), who was a London-born cabinetmaker and pianowright, who came to the U.S. in 1860. He lived in the house until his death. It was deemed significant as "an architecturally significant dwelling representative of transitional designs common to Carson City, Nevada, in the last quarter of the nineteenth century" and "also significant for its association with the early residential development of Carson City.": 3 

The Carson Brewing Company, at 102 S. Division St. in Carson City, Nevada, was built in 1864. Also known as the Carson City Nevada Appeal Building, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It was originally a brewery and bar. It is one of Carson City's "oldest and largest brick buildings remaining from Nevada's territorial days".: 3 It is a two-story brick building that is just one of multiple buildings in a larger original complex; others have lost integrity and are not included in the listing.In 1971, it became an arts center, known as the Brewery Arts Center. One of the groups that helped save the building was the Nevada Artists Association, which still maintains its gallery at the site.

The Gov. James W. Nye Mansion, at 108 N. Minnesota St. in Carson City, Nevada, United States, was built in 1860. It has also been known as St. Teresa's Rectory. It was a home of U.S. senator William M. Stewart and of Nevada territory governor James W. Nye. It is a 1+1⁄2-story stone house built on a large lot. It became an unofficial Governor's Mansion after Governor Nye purchased the house in 1862.

Ormsby House is a closed hotel and casino in Carson City, Nevada. Originally opened in 1972, it closed on October 30, 2000, for extensive renovations. The re-opening was originally planned for July 4, 2001, but was pushed back many times due to many construction delays, many remodels, and management changes. Through January 2023, the Ormsby House Hotel property is up for sale, and is expected to possibly be converted into housing and retail space.

The Olcovich–Meyers House, at 214 W. King St. in Carson City, Nevada, is a historic, well-preserved house that was built during 1874–75 with Late Victorian architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. The listing included two contributing buildings.It is reportedly one of few surviving houses in Carson City that have "Gothic-influenced" architecture. The house also shows Italianate and Eastlake stylistic elements. It was built by Joseph Olcovich for his brother Bernard. Victorian details were probably added in the late 1880s, by George Meyers, who then owned it.

St. Peter's Episcopal Church is a large historic Carpenter Gothic Episcopal church building located at the corner of Division and Telegraph streets in Carson City, Nevada. Built in 1868, it is the oldest Episcopal church still in use in Nevada. On January 3, 1978, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Rinckel Mansion is a historic house in Carson City, Nevada, United States, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Carson City is an independent city and the capital of the U.S. state of Nevada. As of the 2020 census, the population was 58,639, making it the sixth largest city in Nevada. The majority of the city's population lives in Eagle Valley, on the eastern edge of the Carson Range, a branch of the Sierra Nevada, about 30 miles (50 km) south of Reno. The city is named after the mountain man Kit Carson. The town began as a stopover for California-bound immigrants, but developed into a city with the Comstock Lode, a silver strike in the mountains to the northeast. The city has served as Nevada's capital since statehood in 1864; for much of its history it was a hub for the Virginia and Truckee Railroad, although the tracks were removed in 1950. Before 1969, Carson City was the county seat of Ormsby County. That year the state legislature abolished the county and included its territory into a revised city charter for a Consolidated Municipality of Carson City. With the consolidation, the city limits extend west across the Sierra Nevada to the California state line in the middle of Lake Tahoe. Like other independent cities in the United States, it is treated as a county-equivalent for census purposes.

The Nevada Senate is the upper house of the Nevada Legislature, the state legislature of U.S. state of Nevada, the lower house being the Nevada Assembly. It currently (2012–2021) consists of 21 members from single-member districts. In the previous redistricting (2002–2011) there were 19 districts, two of which were multimember. Since 2012, there have been 21 districts, each formed by combining two neighboring state assembly districts. Each State Senator represented approximately 128,598 as of the 2010 United States Census. Article Four of the Constitution of Nevada sets that State Senators serve staggered four-year terms.In addition, the size of the Senate is set to be no less than one-third and no greater than one-half of the size of the Assembly. Term limits, limiting senators to three 4-year terms (12 years), took effect in 2010. Because of the change in Constitution, seven senators were termed out in 2010, four were termed out in 2012, and one was termed out in 2014. The Senate met at the Nevada State Capitol in Carson City until 1971, when a separate Legislative Building was constructed south of the Capitol. The Legislative Building was expanded in 1997 to its current appearance to accommodate the growing Legislature.

The St. Charles-Muller's Hotel, at 302-304-310 S. Carson St. in Carson City, Nevada, is a historic hotel built in 1862. It has also been known as the St. Charles Hotel and as the Pony Express Hotel. It includes vernacular Italianate architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It faces across Carson Street (U.S. 395) towards the Nevada State Capitol and is the oldest surviving brick building on Main Street. It is also the longest continuously operating hotel in the State of Nevada.

The Nevada Assembly is the lower house of the Nevada Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Nevada, the upper house being the Nevada Senate. The body consists of 42 members, elected to two-year terms from single-member districts. Each district contained approximately 64,299 people as of the 2010 United States Census. Term limits, limiting assembly members to six 2-year terms (12 years), took effect in 2010. Twelve members of the Nevada Assembly were termed out with the 2010 election serving their last legislative session in 2011. The Nevada Assembly met at the Nevada State Capitol in Carson City until 1971, when a separate Legislative Building was constructed south of the Capitol. The Legislative Building was expanded in 1997 to its current appearance to accommodate the growing Nevada Legislature. Since the 2012 session, Assembly districts have been formed by dividing the 21 Senate districts in half, so that each Assembly district is nested within a Senate district.
