USS George Bancroft (SSBN-643), a Benjamin Franklin class (or "640-class") fleet ballistic missile submarine, was the fourth shipa of the United States Navy to be named in honor of George Bancroft (1800-1891), United States Secretary of the Navy (1845–1846) and the founder of the United States Naval Academy.

Kings Bay Base is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Camden County, Georgia, United States; it is home to the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base. The population was 1,777 at the 2010 census, and 2,329 in 2020.

St. Marys is a city in Camden County, Georgia, United States, located on the southern border of Camden County on the St. Marys River in the state's Low Country. The Florida border is just to the south across the river, Cumberland Island National Seashore is to the northeast, and Kingsland, Georgia, is to the west. Jacksonville, Florida, is 38 miles south, and Savannah, Georgia, is 110 miles north. The city is home to the National Seashore's visitor center and boat access; the St. Marys Submarine Museum, and Crooked River State Park. It is bordered by Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, home port for several Ohio-class submarines. The city hosts the annual St. Marys Rock Shrimp Festival. The area was first explored in the mid-16th century by Spanish expeditions as part of the settlement of Spanish Florida. Through the decades it also came under the colonial influence of Great Britain and finally the United States. By the 2020 census, the city had a population of 18,256.

St. Marys Airport (FAA LID: 4J6) was a public use airport located two nautical miles (2.3 mi, 3.7 km) north of the central business district of St. Marys, a city in Camden County, Georgia, United States. It is owned by the St. Mary's Airport Authority.

Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay is a base of the United States Navy located adjacent to the city of St. Marys in Camden County, Georgia, on the East River in southeastern Georgia, and 38 miles (61 km) from Jacksonville, Florida. The Submarine Base is the U.S. Atlantic Fleet's home port for U.S. Navy Fleet ballistic missile nuclear submarines capable of being armed with Trident missile nuclear weapons. This submarine base covers about 16,000 acres (6,500 hectares) of land, of which 4,000 acres (1,600 hectares) are protected wetlands.

Crooked River State Park is a 500-acre (2.0 km2) Georgia state park located near St. Mary's on the south bank of the Crooked River, providing an excellent coastal setting. The park is dedicated to the preservation of its natural resources and public education. The park is near the ruins of the McIntosh Sugarworks, built around 1825 and used as a starch factory during the American Civil War. It is the closest state park to Cumberland Island National Seashore and it is adjacent to the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.

Orange Hall c. 1830, is located at 311 Osborne St., St. Marys, Georgia, United States, located within the St. Marys Historic District in Camden County and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 7, 1973. In 2011, Orange Hall was added to the list of the state of Georgia's ten most endangered historic sites by the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation.

St. Marys Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 13, 1976 and is located in St. Marys, Georgia. The city was first settled in the mid-16th century by the Spanish.

Camden County High School is the only public high school for Camden County, Georgia, United States, serving grades 9-12. It is located beside the Camden Recreational Center.

Brunswick High School is a public high school located in Brunswick in Glynn County, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Glynn County School District and opened in 1967. In January 2014, Brunswick High School opened a new facility on 3885 Altama Avenue, becoming one of the largest new schools in the state. The school serves sections of Brunswick, Everett, and Sterling. It also serves sections of Country Club Estates and Dock Junction.

King of Peace Episcopal Church is an Episcopal church located at 6230 Laurel Island Parkway, Kingsland, Georgia. It is a parish of the Diocese of Georgia created in 2000. The church first met in a house on its present site and built a church building in 2004, giving away the house to be a home once more. The church has a 43,000-marble tile labyrinth in the floor of its sanctuary.The church created King of Peace Episcopal Day School in 2004 as a full-day, full-year preschool for children age 18 months to five years which operates in the same building. In 2009, the school was named a Center of Distinction by the State of Georgia's licensing division, making it a model day care facility for other schools. That same year, the school purchased 11.7 acres (47,000 m2) in St. Marys to be developed as a private school with the preschool to remain at King of Peace Church. The church is actively involved in the community through Scouting, Habitat for Humanity and more. In 2010, King of Peace became a parish of the Diocese of Georgia, moving from its previous status as a mission congregation.

Kingsland is a city in Camden County, Georgia, United States. The population was 18,337 at the 2020 census. The Kingsland Commercial Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 17, 1994. It includes the area surrounding South Lee Street between King Street and William Street. It hosts an annual Catfish Festival on Labor Day weekend, and is the location where the fan series Star Trek Continues was filmed.
