Jericho School is a historic one-room school building located at Ruther Glen, Caroline County, Virginia. Madison Public School District Trustees purchased land to construct a school to educate local African American children in 1885 and soon built a log structure. The current building was built in 1917 and is a one-story, rectangular frame building with a gable roof. Between 1912 and 1924 Caroline County built or remodeled 13 two-room and 22 single room schools for African American students. This one room building is sheathed in weatherboard and has a decorative vent on the front gable end. The Jericho School served the African-American children (initially grades 1 to 7, later 1 through 4) of this area of Caroline County until 1959, when Union Elementary School was built. Caroline County sold the building at public auction in 1962. In May 2001 Historic Jericho School, Inc. was formed to save the school.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Fork Church is a historic Episcopal church located near Ashland, Hanover County, Virginia. It was built in 1736, and is a one-story, gable roofed brick building. It measures approximately 34 feet by 74 feet and has walls 22 inches thick. The front facade features a small pedimented porch supported on square brick columns, both probably added in the early-19th century. Also on the property is a contributing church cemetery. Among the more-notable persons who often attended services at Fork Church were Patrick Henry, Dolley Madison, and the novelist Thomas Nelson Page. From 1893 to 1903, Fork Church's rector was the Reverend S. S. Hepburn, grandfather of actress Katharine Hepburn.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Church Quarter is a historic home located at Doswell, Hanover County, Virginia. It was built in 1843, and is a one-story, three-bay, gable-roof, log dwelling. It has exposed logs with V-notching and two exterior end chimneys. Also on the property are contributing two late-19th / early-20th century outbuildings and the ruins of a brick orangery, known locally as the flower house.The Scotchtown Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution purchased Church Quarter in 1969 and has worked to restore the cabin and maintain it as a meeting house for the chapter. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Virgil Benjamin Luck (1846-1898) moved from Golansville, Virginia to Hickory Withe, Fayette County, Tennessee, where he had purchased a substantial amount of farm land.

Scotchtown is a plantation located in Hanover County, Virginia, that from 1771 to 1778 was owned and used as a residence by U.S. Founding Father Patrick Henry, his wife Sarah and their children. He was a revolutionary and elected in 1778 as the first Governor of Virginia. The house is located in Beaverdam, Virginia, 10 miles (16 km) northwest of Ashland, Virginia on VA 685. The house, at 93 feet (28 m) by 35 feet (11 m), is one of the largest 18th-century homes to survive in the Americas. In its present configuration, it has eight substantial rooms on the first floor surrounding a central passage, with a full attic above and English basement with windows below. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965.The house is owned and managed by Preservation Virginia, which operates a number of other historic properties across the Commonwealth, including the John Marshall House, the Old Cape Henry Lighthouse, Bacon's Castle, and Historic Jamestowne.

Grizzly is a wooden roller coaster at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia. The grounds of the ride are densely forested, with the intended thrills heightened from the illusion of inadequate clearance between the track and trees. The attraction opened in 1982, and the double-figure-eight layout is based closely on the defunct Coney Island Wildcat. A similar version of this ride operates at Canada's Wonderland as Wilde Beast.
