WLKT (104.5 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. who determines its programming in New York using automation, non-local talent, and airs a Top 40 (CHR) radio format. The station's studios are located on Nicholasville Road in south Lexington, and its transmitter is located in rural far east Fayette County, Kentucky. Its playlist includes Pop, Rock and Hip Hop music. In middays, it carries the syndicated "On Air with Ryan Seacrest." On Sundays, "American Top 40" is heard. 104.5 The Cat is powered at 50,000 watts ERP, with its broadcast signal reaching the eastern suburbs of Louisville, Northern Kentucky suburbs of Cincinnati, Daniel Boone National Forest, Somerset and London. WLKT was the fourth station in the Lexington metropolitan area to begin broadcasting HD Radio after WUKY, WKQQ and WBUL. Its HD-2 subchannel carries an urban contemporary format, simulcast on translator station 103.9 W280DO, known as "Real 103.9."

Gainesway Farm is an American Thoroughbred horse breeding business in Lexington, Kentucky. It was originally called Greentree Farms. The 1,500 acre (6 km2) property has been home to stallions such as Youth and Exceller and numerous others who are buried on the property. Among the current stallion roster is Tapit, sire of 4 Breeders' Cup winners since 2008 and 2013 Leading U.S.-based Yearling Sire. In 1995, under the name Gainesway Stable, owner Graham Beck partnered with Robert and Beverly Lewis and William T. Young of Overbrook Farm in the ownership and racing of Timber Country who won the 1994 Breeders' Cup Juvenile and 1995 Preakness Stakes.

Greenbrier is a neighborhood in southeastern Lexington, Kentucky, United States. At the time of its building in the 1960s it was a rural subdivision, though it is now bounded by new subdivisions to its west. Its boundaries are Winchester Road to the north, Walnut Grove Lane to the east, east of Blackford Parkway to the south, and the Hamburg Farm to the west.

WTVQ-DT (channel 36) is a television station in Lexington, Kentucky, United States, affiliated with ABC and MyNetworkTV. Owned by Morris Multimedia, the station maintains studios and transmitter facilities on the outer loop of Man o' War Boulevard (KY 1425) in the Brighton section of Fayette County, across Winchester Road from the studios of unrelated station WKYT-TV. The station began broadcasting on channel 62 as WBLG-TV in 1968 and has been an ABC affiliate for its entire history. It changed its call letters to WTVQ in 1973 and moved to channel 36 in 1980. With the exception of most of the 1990s, the station's local newscasts have generally rated third out of the four main TV newsrooms in Lexington.

Bryan Station (also Bryan's Station, and often misspelled Bryant's Station) was an early fortified settlement in Lexington, Kentucky. It was located on present-day Bryan Station Road, about three miles (5 km) northeast of New Circle Road, on the southern bank of Elkhorn Creek near Briar Hill Road. The settlement was established in the spring of 1776 by brothers Morgan, James, William (married to Mary Boone, sister of Daniel Boone), and Joseph Bryan, and brother-in-law William Grant (married to Elizabeth Boone, also a sister of Daniel Boone), all from Yadkin River Valley, Rowan County, North Carolina. After a disastrous winter and attacks by Native Americans, all the Bryan family survivors abandoned the station and returned to the Yadkin River Valley in August 1780. Falling under the command of Elijah Craig, the remaining occupants withstood several American Indian attacks.

Elmendorf Farm is a Kentucky Thoroughbred horse farm in Fayette County, Kentucky, involved with horse racing since the 19th century. Once the North Elkhorn Farm, many owners and tenants have occupied the area, even during the American Civil War. Most of the land acquired during Haggin's era has since been sold off to neighboring stud farms, but the original 765 acres including the columns and many of the historic barns and houses still exist at Elmendorf.

The North American Racing Academy (NARA) is an accredited college in Lexington, Kentucky. It offers the only college degree program in the United States focused on producing jockeys.

Austerlitz is an unincorporated community in Bourbon County, Kentucky, United States. It is located along Kentucky Route 57 approximately nine miles south of Paris, Kentucky and 17 miles east of Lexington. It was the location of a former station of the Kentucky Central Railroad (which later became part of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad), along the section of line that runs between Paris and Winchester. The name of the community likely commemorates the Battle of Austerlitz. The community also had a post office from 1884 to 1954.

Spendthrift Farm is a thoroughbred race horse breeding farm and burial site in Lexington, Kentucky, currently owned by Eric & Tammy Gustavson. It was founded by Leslie Combs II and named for the great stallion Spendthrift, who was owned by Combs' ancestor, Daniel Swigert of Elmendorf Farm. Spendthrift was the great-grandfather of Man o' War. Although Spendthrift Farm is known mostly as a commercial breeding operation, they maintain a small racing stable as well. Their most notable runners are Beholder, a 4-time Eclipse Award winning mare, Lord Nelson, a three-time Gr.I winning sprinter, Court Vision, who won the Breeders' Cup Mile, Tamara, a Gr.1 winning daughter of Beholder and Bolt d'Oro

Hamburg Pavilion is a regional shopping center located along I-75 and Man o' War Boulevard in Lexington, Kentucky. It is one of the state's largest shopping centers with 1,040,000 square feet (97,000 m2) of retail space and is continuing to be developed. The shopping center is anchored by Target, Big Lots, PetSmart, Meijer, Kohl's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Staples, Regal Cinemas, Half Price Books, Barnes & Noble, At Home, Bed Bath & Beyond, Total Wine & More, Value City Furniture, Gordon Food Service (GFS), Cost Plus World Market, Buy Buy Baby, and Best Buy. It is part of the Hamburg Place development.Restaurants include Bonefish Grill, Johnny Carino's, Raffertys, Carrabbas Italian Grill, Outback Steakhouse, Old Chicago, Frisch's Big Boy, Red Lobster, and BD's Mongolian Grill. Hotels include TownePlace Suites, Hyatt Place, Courtyard by Marriott, Sleep Inn, Holiday Inn, Homewood Suites by Hilton, and Residence Inn by Marriott. Hamburg Pavilion was developed on land that was once part of Hamburg Place Farm, for which its name is derived. The first stores opened in the shopping center in 1997.
