Tuckahoe, also known as Tuckahoe Plantation, or Historic Tuckahoe is located in Tuckahoe, Virginia on Route 650 near Manakin Sabot, Virginia, overlapping both Goochland and Henrico counties, six miles from the town of the same name. Built in the first half of the 18th century, it is a well-preserved example of a colonial plantation house, and is particularly distinctive as a colonial prodigy house. Thomas Jefferson is also recorded as having spent some of his childhood here. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1969.

Benedictine College Preparatory is a private Roman Catholic military high school in Goochland, Virginia. It is owned and operated by the Benedictine Society of Virginia, part of the American-Cassinese Congregation. Benedictine offers education through a private military institute model, which has long been a traditional form of education for young men in Virginia.

World War II Veteran's Memorial Bridge is a twin-span 3,642-foot-long (1,110 m) bridge which carries State Route 288 across the James River between Powhatan County and Goochland County in Virginia. State Route 288 forms a semi-circumferential beltway around the southwestern quadrant of the Richmond metropolitan area connecting with Interstate 95 on the southern end and Interstate 64 on the northern end. The Virginia General Assembly proposed and passed the naming of the World War II Veterans Memorial Bridge in 2003. The Bridge was completed in 2004, and is owned by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

Keswick is a historic plantation house near Powhatan, in Chesterfield County and Powhatan County, Virginia, US. It was built in the early-19th century, and is an H-shaped, two-story, gable-roofed, frame-with-weatherboard building. It is supported on brick foundations and has a brick exterior end chimney on each gable. Also on the property are a contributing well house, a smokehouse, the circular "slave quarters," a kitchen, a two-story brick house, a shed, and a laundry.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

James River High School is located in northwestern Chesterfield County, Virginia, United States. James River is a part of Chesterfield County Public Schools.

Tarrington, Virginia also known as Tarrington on the James is an upper-class neighborhood located in Midlothian, Virginia, a part of Chesterfield County. The community is located between Virginia State Route 711 (Robious Road). The community is also home of James River High School and is adjacent to Robious Landing Park.Tarrington began construction in the mid-2000s and finished construction in the mid-2010s. The planned community contains 710 homes.

Lorraine was an unincorporated community in Henrico County, Virginia. Lorraine was named for Edward Lorraine who was the 19th century chief engineer of the James River and Kanawha Canal. According to the Library of Virginia, he was born in 1818. In 1842, he first worked as a rod man doing surveying work on the James River and Kanawha Canal, beginning a career of over 30 years. He was promoted to assistant engineer, and finally appointed chief engineer of the canal succeeding Walter Gwynn. Lorraine served in this position until his death from smallpox in December 1872.Lorraine became a station stop of the Richmond and Allegheny Railroad which was built on the defunct canal's right-of-way in the 1880s. Soon after completion, the railroad was acquired by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway. It became a major conduit for transportation of coal from southern West Virginia to the coal pier on the harbor of Hampton Roads at Newport News. The line later became the James River line of CSX Transportation, and continued to support eastbound coal traffic. Once a moderately busy passenger and freight station on the railroad, Lorraine was discontinued by the C&O in the mid 20th century.

Huguenot Springs is an unincorporated community in Powhatan County, in the U.S. state of Virginia. This community is bordered by Chesterfield county, Virginia. People live on SR 607 (Huguenot Springs Rd) and on other subdivision roads. The Huguenot Springs community takes its name from the former Huguenot Springs Hotel Resort and Spa. It was initially planned by the two brothers Abraham S. and Archibald L. Wooldridge. They also owned the prosperous Midlothian Coal Mining Company located 5 miles distant in Chesterfield County. A large three-story hotel was designed by architect John Notman. In addition to the hotel, multiple cottages were built to accommodate guests. Opened on July 1, 1847, the resort became very popular with the eastern Virginia planters and businessman, as before 1847, the nearest springs with a resort were located at least one hundred miles away in the western parts of the state. Huguenot Springs was only 17 miles away. When the Civil War broke out, the hotel building was converted to a convalescent hospital for Confederate soldiers. Around 250 soldiers are buried in unmarked graves in the cemetery there. In 1890, the hotel burned down. Today, the only remains of the resort are the foundation of the hotel and the old cemetery. Visitors can visit the cemetery, accessible by Old Confederate Cemetery Road (SR 640).

Woodside, near Tuckahoe, Virginia in Henrico County, Virginia, was built in 1858. It is a Greek Revival style villa, in the countryside but not a farmhouse. It was a family home of the Wickham family of Richmond. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The house, along with open area around it, has been permanently protected by an easement.It is located southwest of Tuckahoe off VA 157, at what is now 510 S. Gaskins Rd.

The Druin–Horner House near Richmond in Henrico County, Virginia, USA, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.It is "a rare survivor from 18th century Henrico". It is featured in Foundations in Time II: More of Henrico’s Architectural Treasures, a Henrico County TV film available for viewing online.

Bellona Arsenal was a 19th-century United States Army post in Chesterfield County, Virginia, above the fall line of the James River west of Richmond, Virginia. Ruins of a powder magazine and other buildings are still standing. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
