Moira, County Down

Moira railway station serves Moira in County Down, Northern Ireland. Despite the station serving the County Down town, the station itself is located in County Antrim, the neighbouring Lagan Canal being the boundary. Moira station is the oldest building on the NI Railways network today having been opened on 18 November 1841. The old, now redundant, signal box stands over the station on the Southbound side. Situated near the M1 motorway, the station is popular amongst commuters from the surrounding area. In March 2014, NIR started construction of a new footbridge at the Portadown end of the station. The footbridge was completed in August 2014.

Magheralin (from Irish Machaire Lainne, meaning 'plain of the church') is a village and civil parish in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is on the main A3 road between Moira and Lurgan, beside the River Lagan. It had a population of 1,337 people in the 2011 Census. The civil parish of Magheralin covers areas of County Armagh and County Down.Its original name was Lann Rónáin Fhinn, "church of Ronan Finn", a saint from the famous tale Buile Shuibhne (The Madness of Sweeney).

Ballymacmaine (from Irish Baile Mhic Mhiacháin 'MacMiacháin's townland') is a small village and townland in County Down, Northern Ireland. it is between Dollingstown and Magheralin, on the A3 route from Lurgan to Moira. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 57 people. It is within Craigavon Borough Council area. It is a small settlement with several non-residential land uses, including commercial, recreational and community facilities.

Lurganville (historically Lurganavill or Lurganaveel, from Irish: Lorgain a' Mhíl, meaning 'long ridge of the hare') is a small village and townland in County Down, Northern Ireland. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 102 people. It is situated in the Lisburn City Council area. Locally significant buildings include St Colman's Church, which is a listed building, and the Parochial House. Historically the village has been referred to locally as Kilwarlin after the parish in which it lies. Road signs identifying the village as Lurganville, in the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council area, have been erected recently (2019) on the approach roads to it.

Maghaberry or Magaberry (pronounced mə-GAH-bree, from Irish Maigh gCabraí, meaning 'plain of poor land') is a village and townland in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) west of Lisburn and 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north of Moira. In the 2011 Census it had a population of 4,716 people. It is one of the biggest villages within the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council area.

Pritchard's Bridge station was constructed by the Ulster Railway between Moira and Lurgan on 01/10/1842; closure is presumed in 1844? The site of the station is on the mainline of the Belfast-Newry Line and Dublin Connolly Line.

Gamblestown is a small village in County Down, Northern Ireland about 1.5 km from Donaghcloney, on the Lurgan to Dromore road. It is situated in the Parish of Magheralin and the townland of Clogher. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 159 people. It is situated to the southeast of the Craigavon Borough Council area. The village is largely composed of residential development, a church hall and some retail warehousing, but is without other facilities.

Ballinderry is a civil parish and townland (of 1182 acres) in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is situated in the historic barony of Massereene Upper.

Upper Ballinderry (from Irish Baile an Doire, meaning 'townland of the oak grove') is a small village to the east of Lower Ballinderry in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is within the townland of Ballyscolly and civil parish of Ballinderry, the historic barony of Massereene Upper. Upper Ballinderry is about 10 miles (15 km) north- west of Lisburn. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 192 people. It is a mill village, developed around a crossroads with a prominent church, mill building and estate. The A26 road bypasses the village to the east. Upper Ballinderry is situated on relatively flat land rising gradually to the east. The village has developed in a linear form on both sides of North Street and is contained by the Glenavy Road to the east and the disused railway line to the north. The original road has been realigned with the more recent Glenavy Road situated to the east of the earlier route. Locally significant buildings include Ballinderry Parish Church (built 1824) and Glebe House, which are listed buildings, and Fruithill House, Rosevale, Oatland Cottage, Church View House, and converted mill buildings and outhouses.

Aghalee (from Irish Achadh Lí, meaning 'field of calves') is a village, townland and civil parish in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is three miles from the southeast corner of Lough Neagh on the main road between Lurgan and Antrim and about 13 kilometres west of Lisburn. The village lies on the steep wooded slopes of Friar's Glen and is beside the now disused Lagan Navigational Canal. In the 2001 Census, Aghalee had a population of 774. Aghalee has several places of worship, a community hall, Orange Hall, GP Surgery, filling station and shop, a pharmacy and fast food takeaway. The village has a vocational training centre, a nursing home and a children's day nursery. Ulsterbus services link the village with Lisburn, Antrim, Lurgan and Belfast.

Dollingstown Football Club is an intermediate-level football club from Dollingstown, County Down, Northern Ireland. The club currently competes in the NIFL Premier Intermediate League and their home ground is Planters Park in Dollingstown, which has a capacity of approximately 750 people. The manager of the club is Stephen Uprichard and the club was founded in 1979 by local football fans.With the club's founding, the club applied to join the Mid-Ulster Football League and were accepted into Division 5. Dollingstown won their first trophy, the John Magee Cup, in the 1992/93 season under the management of Colin McCullough. In the 2010–11 season, the club was denied promotion to the IFA Championship 2 for playing an ineligible player in eight league matches. The club lost the points gained through these games, and appealed the decision in court, however it was dismissed.In 2019, the club marked their 40th anniversary.

The A3 is a major road in Northern Ireland. It travels through County Antrim, County Down, County Armagh and parts of southern County Fermanagh. The route branches off the A1, and from the start of the route at Lisburn to the border near Middletown, County Armagh, it is a primary route. The A3 is also the designated road number for the sections of the Irish N54 secondary route which lie in Northern Ireland. These sections carry secondary route status.
