Lago di Chironico

The Cima Bianca is a mountain of the Lepontine Alps, overlooking Giornico in the canton of Ticino. On the northern side lies a small lake named Laghetto.

Gribbio is an Italian-speaking village in Ticino, Switzerland, in the district of Chironico. It is situated in the Lepontine Alps, more specifically in Alta Leventina, between Chironico and Dalpe at an altitude of 1,300 metres.

The Madom Gröss is a mountain in the Lepontine Alps of Switzerland. It is located between the Valle Verzasca and Valle Leventina, near Sonogno, Ticino.

Sonogno is a village and former municipality in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. It is located in Valle Verzasca. On 17 October 2020 the former municipalities of Vogorno, Sonogno, Corippo, Brione (Verzasca) and Frasco merged to form the new municipality of Verzasca.

Chironico is a former municipality located in the district of Leventina in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. On 1 April 2012, it was incorporated into the municipality of Faido along with the former municipalities of Anzonico, Calpiogna, Campello, Cavagnago, Mairengo and Osco.

Pizzo Barone (2,864 m) is a mountain of the Lepontine Alps in Switzerland. It is located south of Pizzo Campo Tencia and is the highest summit of the Valle Verzasca in the canton of Ticino. From Sonogno a trail leads to the summit. South of the peak is a small lake (2,391 m) named Lago Barone.

Frasco is a village and former municipality in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. On 17 October 2020 the former municipalities of Vogorno, Sonogno, Corippo, Brione (Verzasca) and Frasco merged to form the new municipality of Verzasca.

Giornico is a municipality in the district of Leventina in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

The Corona di Redorta is a mountain of the Swiss Lepontine Alps, located between Lavizzara and Sonogno in the canton of Ticino. Culminating at a height of 2,804 metres above sea level, the Corona di Redorta is the second highest summit of the Valle Verzasca, after Pizzo Barone.

The Sopraceneri ('Above the Ceneri'; Ticinese: Surascender) is the part of the Swiss canton of Ticino that lies to the north of the Monte Ceneri Pass through the Lugano Prealps. It includes the whole of the valley of the Ticino river and its side valleys, the Swiss shore of Lake Maggiore, the cities of Bellinzona and Locarno, as well as towns including Biasca and Riviera. The Sopraceneri is not a half-canton with formally defined boundaries, but roughly maps to the districts of Bellinzona, Blenio, Leventina, Locarno, Riviera and Vallemaggia. The remainder of the canton is described as the Sottoceneri ('Under the Ceneri'), and includes the towns of Lugano, Mendrisio and Chiasso. Whilst the Sopraceneri comprises 2,379 square kilometres (919 sq mi), or about 85% of the land area of the canton, it contains 142,627 people, or only 43% of the cantonal population (2008). It is therefore characterised by a markedly lower population density and level of economic activity, when compared to the Sottoceneri.

Anzonico is a former municipality in the district of Leventina in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. On 1 April 2012, it was incorporated into the municipality of Faido along with the former municipalities of Calpiogna, Campello, Cavagnago, Chironico, Mairengo and Osco.

Gerra (Verzasca) is a part of the municipality of Cugnasco-Gerra in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. Gerra was an independent municipality until January 1, 2009, when it merged with Cugnasco to form Cugnasco-Gerra.
