The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education coordinates change and improvement in Kentucky's postsecondary education system as directed by the Kentucky Postsecondary Education Improvement Act of 1997. The Council is a statewide coordinating agency with 16 members: 14 citizens, one faculty member and one student appointed by the Governor; the Commissioner of Education is an ex officio member.

The Old Stone Tavern, near Frankfort, Kentucky, is a historic stone building that once served as an inn and tavern on a stagecoach line, and later served as a toll house. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.It is a one-and-three-quarters-story hall-parlor plan structure that is the primary structure remaining out of an old inn complex.It is located on the Old Leestown Pike the corner of Scruggs Lane.A former blacksmith site is behind the house.

Forks of Elkhorn is an unincorporated community within Franklin County, Kentucky, United States. It lies on US 460 where the north and south forks of Elkhorn Creek meet. It is believed to have been established in 1784. The town had a post office from 1848 to September 24, 1965. The town had a station on the Frankfort and Cincinnati Railroad that was known as Elsinore for unknown reasons.

Alumni Field is a stadium in Frankfort, Kentucky. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of Kentucky State University. Also there are baseball, football and softball coaching offices, as well as locker rooms, an athletic training room, media room and weight room. New synthetic turf was laid at the end of 2019 with anticipated completion date for June 2020.

Millville is an unincorporated community located in Woodford County, Kentucky, United States. It is situated about 5 miles (8 km) southeast of Frankfort, Kentucky. Glenns Creek runs through the town, and it is near the Kentucky River. Millville took its name from the many flour mills and water-powered grist mills in the area. A post office was established in 1854, and closed in 1907. Samuel Miles was the first postmaster.

Kentucky State University (KSU, and KYSU) is a public historically black land-grant university in Frankfort, Kentucky. Founded in 1886 as the State Normal School for Colored Persons, and becoming a land-grant college in 1890, KSU is the second-oldest state-supported institution of higher learning in Kentucky. In fall 2019, total undergraduate enrollment was 2,029 with a total graduate enrollment of 142.

Located in Frankfort, Kentucky, overlooking the state capital, Kentucky Vietnam Veterans Memorial contains the names of 1,108 Kentuckians killed in the Vietnam War. The memorial is in the form of a sundial with the names placed so that the tip of the gnomon's shadow touches each man's name on the date of his death, thus giving each fallen warrior his own personal memorial day.
