Avenue Road is a busy shopping and commercial street in Bangalore, the state capital of Karnataka, India. It is located in Chickpet and runs through the heart of the city. It also connects the Mysore Road and K G Road in the city. It is in close proximity to Majestic bus station and Bangalore City Railway station. Earlier, Avenue Road was known as Doddapete.Avenue Road is known for its traditional trade in used books, garments and textiles, jewellery and pawn brokering. Standing on Avenue Road, Bangalore Pete is also the Rice Memorial Church, Bangalore, named after Rev. Benjamin Holt Rice, a missionary of the London Missionary Society (LMS), a Canarese scholar and a pioneer of education in the Bangalore Pete region. The Church stands on the grounds of the London Mission Canarese Chapel which was established in 1834, by William Campbell.

Ranganathaswamy Temple is an ancient and famous Hindu Vaikhanasa temple in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, dating back to the 16th century C.E dedicated to Lord Ranganathaswamy. The temple is built in the Vijayanagara style of architecture and has beautifully carved granite pillars reminiscent of Hoysala influence. The sanctum sanctorum which houses idols of Sri Ranganatha Swamy, and his consorts Sri Bhudevi and Neela Devi. The temple is located in the Chikkapete (Chickpet) area of central Bangalore on Rangaswamy Temple Street. The road is named after the famous Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple. The temple's Chariot Festival(Radhotsavam) takes place on Chaitra Shuddha Pournami every year and thousands of people come to see the Chariot Festival. The famous Bangalore Karaga Festival also happens to be on the same day. Vaikuntha Ekadasi Uttara dwaara DarSanam also attracts thousands of people to this temple every year. Only On this auspicious day, people are allowed to perform a PradakshiNaa within the inner Praakaara surrounding the main temple. Numerous volunteers throng to this temple on this day to manage the crowd and help the temple management in maintaining the crowds and facilitating darshan of Moolavar and Utsavar murthis of Sri Ranganatha Swamy.

K R Market (Krishnarajendra Market), also known as City Market, is the largest wholesale market dealing with commodities in Bangalore, India. It is named after Krishnarajendra Wodeyar, a former ruler of the princely state of Mysore. The market is located in the Kalasipalya area, adjacent to the Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, on Mysore Road at its junction with Krishnarajendra Road. It is the first locality in the whole of Asia to get electricity and considered to be one of the biggest flower markets in Asia.

The Rice Memorial Church is located in the busy Avenue Road, Bangalore Pete. It is named after Rev. The Rice Memorial Church stands on a busy street in the midst of temple, dargahs, book shops and heavy traffic, with its colonial British structure appearing to be out of place in the traditional Bangalore market district. The church stands on the site of the London Mission Canarese Chapel built by Rev. Rice, which itself was built on the site of the first Canarese chapel built by William Campbell in 1834. The church is a stone building in the European Classical style, with Tuscan columns, pediments and keystone arch windows. The church building has been demolished and raised at least 3 times, with the current structure consecrated in 1917.Heritage conservationists have been increasingly urging authorities to include the church, along with other important landmarks on the heritage list, as these monuments are being increasingly threatened by the development of Bangalore City. There has been proposals for widening of Avenue Road, which would result in damage or loss of the Rice Memorial Church and other monuments. The Rice Memorial is part of the proposed 'Palace-to-Palace' Heritage Corridor (or Golden Corridor), linking Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace (on Albert Victoria Road) to the Bangalore Palace, passing through KR Road, Avenue Road and Palace Road. The corridor proposed by Bangalore's well known architect Naresh Narasimhan, with consultations from Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) has however has not been accepted by the Government of Karnataka.
