Adamsdown Primary School is a school in Adamsdown, Cardiff serving children from the ages of 3 to 11. Its motto is: Caring Sharing Learning Together. In 2009, pupils from Adamsdown Primary School recorded a song, Adamsdown Song, with local songwriter Jon Blake. The track topped the Soundclick.com charts in May 2009.In 2016 the school was assessed as needing improvements.In 2018 the school doubled in size, with a new extension opened by Welsh Government Education Secretary, Kirsty Williams, in June 2018.

Adamsdown (Welsh: Waunadda or Y Sblot Uchaf) is an inner city area and community in the south of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. Adamsdown is generally located between Newport Road, to the north and the mainline railway to the south. The area includes Cardiff Prison, Cardiff Magistrates' Court, Cardiff Royal Infirmary, a University of South Wales campus, and many streets of residential housing.

Trinity Methodist Church, now the Trinity Centre, is a Grade II listed former Methodist church in Adamsdown, Cardiff, Wales.

Roath Library is a Grade II listed building on Newport Road, Cardiff, on the border of the Roath and Adamsdown districts. In 2014 the library closed for repairs, and in 2015 it was decided to close the library permanently.The Roath Branch Library was designed by architects Teather & Wilson and built between 1900 and 1901 on a triangular site bounded by Newport Road, Four Elms Road and Clifton Street. The red brick building with bathstone dressing was extended eastwards in 1936. It was completely refurbished in 1992/3.In 1997 the library building became Grade II listed, as a good example of its type. It forms a valuable group with nearby church buildings.In the early 2010s the library was threatened with closure. It shut in November 2014 with the Cardiff Council claiming they were to carry out repairs. Despite a council meeting in February 2015 reversing some funding cuts to the library budget, in May 2015 it was announced the repair bill was too high and the library would close permanently. The books and computers were removed later in the year, though the council said they would keep ownership of the building if a community group was able to take over responsibility for running it. In the meantime, a mobile library van was to provide a service to the area.

The Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales (Welsh: Ysbyty Arch Noa Plant Cymru) is a children's hospital in Cardiff, Wales. It is situated on the site of the University Hospital of Wales in the Heath area of the city and is managed by the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

The university offers degree courses in a variety of disciplines. Study is available at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, full-time and part-time, and research opportunities are offered. In the 2021/22 academic year, the University has 11,500 students from over 140 countries studying on two campuses in Cardiff, and more than 10,000 at 17 partner institutions in 15 countries around the world In November 2021, Cardiff Met was awarded the title of UK and Ireland University of the Year 2021 by the Times Higher Education. In September 2020 Cardiff Met was named the Times and Sunday Times Welsh University of the Year. Cardiff Met was deemed to be the most financially sustainable university in Wales by the Wales Governance Centre in 2020

St James the Great (Welsh: Eglwys Sant Iago Fawr) is a church located opposite the Cardiff Royal Infirmary on Newport Road, near the centre of Cardiff, Wales. It closed in 2006 after 112 years as an Anglican place of worship.

Roath railway station was a short-lived railway station in Cardiff. It opened in 1899 and closed in 1917. The station was on the South Wales Main Line. Despite its name, Roath was actually located in the Splott area of the city.

Eastgate House (also known as Heron House) is a high-rise office building on the corner of Newport Road and City Road, Cardiff, Wales, next to Longcross Court and near Holland House. It was built in 1969 and is 46 metres (151 ft) high, with 14 floors. It is (or has been) occupied by the Wales Office, Department for Work and Pensions, Cardiff University, Newsco Insider, Biofusion Plc, BPP Professional, Asthma UK and Randstad Holding. The office building contains 3 elevators and has parking space for 40 cars. Eastgate House was purchased in 2015 by private equity firm Maya Capital, for £7 million.

Splott (Welsh: Y Sblot) is a district and community in the south of the city of Cardiff, capital of Wales, just east of the city centre. It was built up in the late 19th century on the land of two farms of the same name: Upper Splott and Lower Splott Farms. Splott is characterised by its once vast steelworks and rows of tightly knit terraced houses. The suburb of Splott falls into the Splott electoral ward. Fanciful suggestions for the origin of the name have included a truncation of "God's Plot", as the land belonged to the Bishop of Llandaff in medieval times, and a derivation of plat, meaning a grassy area of land. The name of the original farm would seem to be Middle English "splott", from Old English (speck, blot, patch of land) and the word is to be found in other English place names in the Vale of Glamorgan, Gower, and Pembrokeshire, as well as in Somerset and Devon, in the West Country of England, from where it was presumably introduced by English settlers. It has frequently been noted on lists of unusual place names.The population of Splott in the United Kingdom Census 2001 was 12,074, in 5,101 households, of which only 183 are detached homes. Of the 8,221 adults in the area, only 1,000 have the lowest category of qualifications (Level 1 or below). In 2011 the population had increased to 13,261.
