Unterjoch

Oberjoch is a small village in the municipality of Bad Hindelang in the German district of Oberallgäu, Bavaria. It has a total population of 200 people. The village is advertised as being the highest located ski resort in Germany, but several settlements are located higher (Feldberg, Winklmoos-Alm, Gerstruben). It is popular for skiing in winter, and in summer, many hikers and mountaineers visit Oberjoch.

Jungholz (German pronunciation: [ˈjʊŋhɔlt͡s] ) is a village in the district of Reutte in the Austrian state of Tyrol that is only accessible via Germany. The lack of a road connection to anywhere else in Austria led to Jungholz being included in the German customs area before Austria joined the EU in 1995. It also used the Deutsche Mark instead of the Austrian schilling as currency until 2002, when the euro took over. Letters to Jungholz can be addressed with either a German or an Austrian postal code.

Bad Hindelang is a municipality in the district of Oberallgäu in Bavaria in Germany. As of 2008 it has a population of 4,915. Its sulphur spring was used for cures in the 19th century and today the municipality is a major health resort.

The Grüntensee is a 2.5 km long and 11.2 m deep reservoir of the Wertach river with a circumference of 8.2 km in the district of Oberallgäu on the border with the district of Ostallgäu, Bavarian Swabia, Bavaria, Germany, 3.1 km west of Nesselwang. The reservoir was completed in 1962 and is used for flood protection and power generation. A hydroelectric power plant generates 1 MW of power. The Grüntensee and some areas of its shore are also used as recreational areas. On the northern shore of the Grüntensee is the Kletterwald Grüntensee (a high ropes course). On the southern shore there is a small patch of houses with a playground near the shoreline. The lake was named after the Grünten mountain on the northern edge of the Allgäu Alps, which lies about 11 kilometres to the southwest.
