Złotoria [zwɔˈtɔrja] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Lubicz, within Toruń County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It lies approximately 8 km (5 mi) south-west of Lubicz and 8 km (5 mi) south-east of Toruń. It is located in the historic Dobrzyń Land.

Expressway S10 or express road S10 (in Polish droga ekspresowa S10) is Polish highway which, when completed, will serve as a direct route between Szczecin and Warsaw. It has been planned to run from the junction with Motorway A6 on the eastern outskirts of Szczecin, through Bydgoszcz and Toruń, to a junction with express road S50 near Płock, west of Warsaw. As of 2023, only short stretches of S10 serving as bypasses of Bydgoszcz, Toruń and several smaller towns have been built (about 56 km (35 mi) in total), out of the total planned length of 460 km (290 mi). According to the plans, the road from Bydgoszcz to Toruń will be constructed by 2026, from Szczecin to Bydgoszcz – by 2030, and from Toruń to Warsaw – by 2032.

Brzoza [ˈbʐɔza], meaning birch, is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Wielka Nieszawka, within Toruń County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) east of Wielka Nieszawka and 10 km (6 mi) south-east of Toruń. It is located in the historic region of Kuyavia.

Kopanino [kɔpaˈninɔ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Lubicz, within Toruń County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It lies approximately 10 km (6 mi) south-east of Toruń. In 2004 the village had a population of 180.

The Confectionery Factory "Kopernik" is a firm producing gingerbread and other sweets, based in Toruń, Poland. Its seat is located at 34 Stanisława Żółkiewskiego street in Toruń. Still operating today, it is the oldest confectionery company in Poland, established in 1763.

Grabowiec [ɡraˈbɔvjɛt͡s] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Lubicz, within Toruń County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It lies approximately 12 km (7 mi) south-east of Toruń. In April 2005, one of its streets was named Obi-Wan Kenobi Street (Polish: ulica Obi-Wana Kenobiego) after the famous Jedi master from Star Wars movies.

The Otłoczyn railway accident (Polish: Katastrofa kolejowa pod Otłoczynem) was a train crash which occurred on 19 August 1980, near the village of Otłoczyn (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, northern Poland). At 4:30 a.m., a freight train collided with a passenger train which ran from Toruń Main Station to Łódź Kaliska. As a result, 65 people were killed, and 64 injured, out of which an additional two later died, bringing the total number of dead to 67. It was caused by one of the drivers proceeding without permission in a thick fog. To date, it is the deadliest railway accident in peacetime history of Poland.

Lubicz Dolny [ˈlubit͡ʂ ˈdɔlnɨ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Lubicz, within Toruń County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It lies approximately 2 kilometres (1 mi) west of Lubicz and 9 km (6 mi) east of Toruń.

Silno [ˈɕilnɔ] is a city in the administrative district of Gmina Obrowo, within Toruń County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) west of Obrowo and 13 km (8 mi) south-east of Toruń. It is located on the Vistula in the historic Dobrzyń Land.

Medieval Town of Toruń (Polish: zespół staromiejski Torunia) is the oldest historic district of the city of Toruń. It is one of Poland's World Heritage Sites (added in 1997). According to UNESCO, its value lies in its being "a small historic trading city that preserves to a remarkable extent its original street pattern and outstanding early buildings, and which provides an exceptionally complete picture of the medieval way of life". The Medieval Town has an area of 60 ha and a buffer zone of 300 ha. It is composed of the Toruń Old Town, Toruń New Town, and the Toruń Castle.

The siege of Thorn was set during the Great Northern War, between Sweden and Saxony from May to October 14, 1703. The Swedish army was commanded by Charles XII of Sweden and the Saxon by General von Kanitz. The siege ended with a victory for Sweden, and the whole garrison surrendered to the Swedes.
