Prospect Creek is an urban watercourse of the Georges River catchment that is located in the western region of Sydney, in New South Wales, Australia. As Prospect Reservoir forms a part of the Sydney metropolitan water supply, the flow of the creek is regulated in accordance with the operational requirements of Sydney Water. Situated within the local government areas of Fairfield City and Canterbury-Bankstown Councils, the creek is 26 kilometres (16 mi) long, starting at the Prospect Reservoir at the top of the catchment and flows to the Georges River at Georges Hall, as its tributary.

The Lennox River is the proposed name for a waterway located in Sydney's South-Western Suburbs. The existing waterway is the tidal reach of Prospect Creek, a tributary of the Georges River. A proposal has been made to upgrade and reclassify the waterway as a 'river'. The proposed river would be 6.5 kilometres (4 mi) long, starting at the confluence of Orphan School Creek and Prospect Creek at Fairfield and flowing to the Georges River emptying into Dhurawal Bay at Garrison Point. The Lennox River would be named in honour of Scottish-Australian stonemason David Lennox who designed and oversaw the construction of the Lansdowne Bridge which crosses this waterway. The proposal to re-gazette this waterway was put forward by Community Advocate Lachlan Hyde to upgrade this waterway to river status. Local elected representatives including State Members of Parliament have given their support to the proposal and have pushed the New South Wales Government in support of this matter.The catchment area of the proposed Lennox River is largely urbanised with residential land uses and open space for recreation.

The Georges River Grammar (abbreviated as GRG) is an independent Anglican co-educational primary and secondary day school, located in Georges Hall, a south-western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The school was established in 1984, as a non-selective school and currently caters for approximately 880 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

Garrison Point is a promontory and historically significant urban park located near the junction of Georges River and Prospect Creek. The parkland may be accessed off Henry Lawson Drive, in the south-western Sydney suburb of Georges Hall, in the City of Canterbury-Bankstown local government area of New South Wales, Australia. In 1795 Matthew Flinders, George Bass, and the boy servant William Martin, explored the Georges River to land at what is now Garrison Point and discover the what is now part of City of Canterbury-Bankstown. The area is so named because in Bankstown's early history, a garrison of soldiers was stationed here to ensure the safety of Major George Johnston as he conducted a census in the area. The park is now the local focus of annual Australia Day celebrations in the Bankstown area.

Bankstown Aerodrome is a suburb south-west of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales. The suburb was gazetted in May 1994 and is the location of the Bankstown Airport. The suburb is bounded by the Georges River in the west and Condell Park in the east.

Georges Hall, a suburb of local government area City of Canterbury-Bankstown, is located 24 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district in the state of New South Wales, Australia, and is part of the South-western Sydney region. Georges Hall is bounded by the Georges River in the west and Bankstown Aerodrome in the south. The suburbs of Bass Hill and Condell Park lie to the north and east, respectively.

The Mirambeena Regional Park, within the suburbs of Georges Hall and Lansdowne, is a strip of recreational parks and nature reserves bounded by the Georges River to the west and Henry Lawson Drive to the east. It consists of the five parks of Garrison Point and Lake Gillawarna in Georges Hall; and Flinders Slopes, Shortland Brush and Lansdowne Reserve in Lansdowne.

The Bankstown Airport Air Traffic Control Tower is a heritage-listed air traffic control tower at Tower Road, Bankstown, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was added to the Australian Commonwealth Heritage List on 22 January 2016.

Lansdowne is located 27 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown and is part of the South-western Sydney region. Its western boundary is Prospect Creek, the north the Hume Highway and the east and south Georges Hall.

Bankstown Airport (IATA: BWU, ICAO: YSBK) is an airport and business park located in the City of Canterbury-Bankstown, approximately 26 km (16 mi) from the Sydney Central Business District (CBD), Australia, and 17 km (11 mi) west of Sydney Airport. It is situated on 313 ha (770 acres) of land and has three parallel runways, several apron areas, a small passenger terminal and a business park, home to more than 160 businesses. The airport, is home to numerous fixed-wing and helicopter flying schools and also caters to charter and private business flights, freight, aeromedical services, recreational flights, aircraft maintenance businesses, private aircraft and emergency services. Bankstown Airport operates 24 hours a day, with limitations placed on night circuit training. The airport's air traffic control tower is listed on the Commonwealth Heritage List.
