Great Eau

Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes is a national nature reserve on the coast of Lincolnshire, England, in the parishes of Saltfleetby and Theddlethorpe. It is managed in part by Natural England; in part by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, and consists of 1,377 acres (557 ha) of sand dunes, salt marsh, sand and mudflats. It is on Rimac Road and sometimes referred to as Rimac. The reserve is one of only around 60 places in the UK where the natterjack toad is found. In summer, many species of orchids can be seen on the dunes and dune slacks. Other wildlife includes cuckoo, barn owl and six-spot burnet moth. A large part of the reserve, close to the car park, is wheelchair-friendly.

Theddlethorpe Lifeboat Station was located near the village of Theddlethorpe St Helen, on the east coast of the county of Lincolnshire. A lifeboat was first stationed here by the Lincolnshire Coast Shipwreck Association (LCSA) in 1828. Management of the station was transferred to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in 1864. With problems finding enough local crew, and further difficulties launching the boat at that location, the RNLI closed the station in 1882, and opened a new station at Mablethorpe, just down the coast, in 1883.

Saltfleet is a coastal village in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is approximately 8 miles (13 km) north of Mablethorpe and 11 miles (18 km) east of Louth. The village is part of the civil parish of Skidbrooke with Saltfleet Haven, which had a population of 523 at the 2001 Census, increasing to 543 at the 2011 Census.Saltfleet has a village store with adjoining cafe, a petrol station, a seasonal fish and chip shop and numerous caravan sites (Sunnydale, Beach, Tuxworth, Kindswood, Sandyfields and New Inn). The beaches at Saltfleet attract visitors for days out and holidays, some of whom gather samphire on the coast close to the village.

Theddlethorpe St Helen or East Theddlethorpe is a village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of the county of Lincolnshire, England. It lies about 3 miles (5 km) north of Mablethorpe on the North Sea coast. Some seashore belongs to Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve, consisting of sea dunes and saltwater and freshwater marshes. It is one of five UK locations where the natterjack toad is found. In 2011 the parish had a population of 525. The parish touches Gayton le Marsh, Mablethorpe and Sutton, Theddlethorpe All Saints and Withern with Stain. Theddlethorpe St Helen shares a parish council with Theddlethorpe All Saints.The Theddlethorpe Gas Terminal processed natural gas from the North Sea until it closed in 2018.

All Saints Church, Saltfleetby, is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Saltfleetby All Saints, Lincolnshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. The church stands in the marshland of Lincolnshire, and has a leaning west tower.

The Long Eau is a river in Lincolnshire, England, rising from the Chalk Streams of the Lincolnshire Wolds and joining its companion stream, the Great Eau south of Saltfleetby All Saints.The Long Eau drains a small catchment of 22.3 km2.The placename element Eau for a river is common in Lincolnshire and comes not from the French, but from Old English Ea - a river, related to modern Germanic Aa.

Theddlethorpe railway station was a station serving Theddlethorpe, Lincolnshire from 1877 to 1960. The station was opened on 17 October 1877 when the Louth and East Coast Railway opened the line between Louth and Mablethorpe. This line was connected to the Sutton and Willoughby Railway in 1888 to form the Mablethorpe loop.The station was host to a LNER camping coach from 1935 to 1939 and possibly one for some of 1934.The station closed on 5 December 1960 when the line between Louth and Mablethorpe was closed.

In 2011 the parish had a population of 165. The parish touches Gayton Le Marsh, Great Carlton, Saltfleetby and Theddlethorpe St. Helen. Theddlethorpe All Saints shares a parish council with Theddlethorpe St Helen.

Skidbrooke, also called Skidbrooke cum Saltfleet, is a hamlet in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 10 miles (16 km) north from the town of Alford and 7 miles (11 km) east from Louth. With the hamlet of Saltfleet Haven it forms the civil parish of Skidbrooke with Saltfleet Haven. Skidbrooke is mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Book as "Schitebroc", and recorded as being in the hundred of Louth-Eske in the South Riding of Lindsey, and as having 33 households, 3 villagers, 24 freemen and a meadow of 60 acres (0 km2). In 1066 Queen Edith was Lord of the Manor, which in 1086 was transferred to William I. The parish church is dedicated to Saint Botolph. Now closed, it is cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust. There is a Grade II listed limestone pump in the village, which is a memorial to Frederick Allen Freshney of South Somercotes, who died in May 1906 from wounds received in the Boer War.The New Inn is a Grade II listed red-brick public house dating from the 17th century, with 18th- and 19th-century additions.The Manor House, which dates from about 1673 with 19th-century additions, is a Grade II listed red-brick house.Skidbrooke Grade II listed tower windmill dates from about 1770. It originally had three pairs of stones. In the late 1890s it was rebuilt gaining extra storeys, a new cap and fantail and four patent sails. It continued to work until about 1951.

It has been called the "Cathedral of the Marsh".

The parish had a population of 599 in the 2001 Census, decreasing to 568 at the 2011 Census.A local name for the village is Soloby.Until 1999 Saltfleetby comprised three parishes: Saltfleetby St Peter, Saltfleetby All Saints and Saltfleetby St Clement, each one centred on the church that gave it its name.The hamlet of Three Bridges is south of Saltfleetby St Peter. Saltfleetby contains a wooden village hall, fishing lakes with a campsite and shop, and the Prussian Queen public house. Saltfleetby Gas Field, north of North End Lane, is part of the neighbouring village of South Cockerington.
