Eighth Street Park Historic District

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is a Greek Orthodox Church in Wilmington, Delaware. Established in 1934, the church is an important part of the Greek community in Wilmington. The church complex also contains a Greek community center, and is the site of the church's annual Greek festival.

Big August Quarterly is an annual religious festival held in Wilmington, Delaware (sometimes called "Big Quarterly" or "August Quarterly"). Begun in 1814 by Peter Spencer in connection with the "quarterly" meeting (or "conference") of the African Union Church—of the four meetings during the year, the one in August became the "annual conference" of the Church when ministers' assignments for the next year were announced, among other business—it was a time for free blacks and slaves alike to come together (from the multi-state area) and celebrate their faith with singing, dancing, testifying, and feasting. It is the oldest such celebration in the country.The August Quarterly became a kind of Independence Day for Black people on the Delmarva Peninsula. In the early years of the festival “abolitionists and Underground Railroad conductors of the stature of Thomas Garrett and Harriet Tubman were often in the Wilmington area to assist slaves who chose to escape”. The Big Quarterly has remained a time of reunion, religious revival and celebration of freedom for the people in and around Wilmington, Delaware.

Padua Academy is an all-girls Catholic high school in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. It is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Wilmington. The school strongly emphasizes college preparation, leadership, civic responsibility, and spirituality. Padua is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. It is a four-time winner of the "Superstars in Education" Award from the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce. Padua was named one of the Top 50 Catholic High Schools in America by the Cardinal Newman Society in 2012. Padua is a member of the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) and the Delaware Association of Independent Schools (DAIS). Padua’s Student Council has earned recognition as a Council of Excellence. Padua Academy is consistently recognized for outstanding community service and has merited both a Regional Gold Medal and a National Bronze Medal from the Jefferson Awards-Deloitte Students in Action program.

Postles House, also known as "The Gargoyle House", is a historic home located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built in 1905, and is a three-story, "T"-shaped stone dwelling with eclectic Tudor Gothic style elements. It features two-story polygonal bays topped with battlements, steep parapeted gables, decorative wrought iron work, and a slate roof. Also on the property are a contributing carriage house.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Cool Spring Park Historic District is a national historic district located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It encompasses 316 contributing buildings, 3 contributing structures, and 3 contributing objects in located in and around Cool Spring Park in Wilmington. It developed in the late-19th century as a middle class residential area. They are primarily semi-detached dwellings in a variety of popular styles including Gothic Revival and Queen Anne. Also located in the district is the Cool Spring Pumping Station associated with the Cool Spring Reservoir, Cool Spring Elementary School, and Knights of Pythias Hall.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic church in Wilmington, Delaware. Named in honor of Anthony of Padua, it falls within the jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Wilmington and is operated by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales. It is situated in Wilmington's Little Italy neighborhood, where the parish includes St. Anthony's School (adjacent to the church) and Padua Academy. Every June, the church runs an Italian Festival, a week-long event which celebrates the Feast of Saint Anthony. This festival features four outdoor cafes, each with their own live entertainment, and unique food selections. The Festival is the second-largest of its kind in the United States. Admission fees were established for the first time in 2008.The Romanesque revival architectural style owes its inspiration to the Basilica di San Zeno in Verona, Italy. Italian immigrants who settled in the area took seven years to construct the building. Construction was led by Ernesto DiSabatino who later founded EDiS Company and received the Papal Cross of Honor Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice for his efforts for the construction of the church.The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Ursuline Academy is a private school in Wilmington, Delaware, which offers Early Childhood (Montessori (ages 3–5) and Kindergarten) and elementary (grades 1–5) school for both girls and boys, Middle (Grades 6–8), and Upper (Grades 9–12) school classes for girls. Established in 1893 by the Ursulines, it is an independent, Catholic, college-preparatory school.

A statue of Christopher Columbus was installed in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. It was produced by the sculptor Egidio Giaroli in Rome, and was cast and molded in the Italian city of Pistoia. The statue was unveiled on October 12, 1957, and was removed in June 2020, its status and future currently is unclear, and its impromptu removal controversial and the subject of political debate.

Little Italy is a neighborhood on the west side of Wilmington, Delaware. Little Italy is bounded roughly by 4th Street to the south, Union Street to the west, Clayton Street to the east, and Pennsylvania Avenue to the north. Like other neighborhoods with the "Little Italy" designation, Little Italy in Wilmington has a large Italian-American population. There are several Italian-American owned and operated businesses, including restaurants, law firms, and photographers, located in Little Italy. One of the central features of Little Italy is St. Anthony's of Padua Roman Catholic Church, which also includes a grade school and the Padua Academy, located outside of Little Italy but nearby on Wilmington's west side. St. Anthony's also hosts the Italian Festival, a week-long festival which takes place annually in June and celebrates Italian culture through food, music, a midway with rides and games, and games of chance generally found next to the church building.

Rodney Court, also known as Rodney Court Co-operative, is a historic apartment building located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built in 1928, and is a six-story, "L"-shaped steel frame apartment building. The frame is sheathed in cinder block and faced with light-colored tapestry bricks. It features cast-stone trimmings with classical motifs and an elaborate cast-stone classically styled parapet. It once had a large social hall adjoining a roof-top dance floor and roof garden, that has since been converted to a penthouse apartment. It is the last extant luxury apartment built in Wilmington before the Great Depression of the 1930s.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Delaware Avenue Historic District is a national historic district located at Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It encompasses 180 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure developed in the late-19th and early-20th centuries. The district is primarily residential and includes a variety of Victorian-era mansions and large dwellings in a variety of popular architectural styles including Italianate, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Classical Revival, and American Four Square The houses are detached or semi-detached and are primarily three stories in height with extensive wings to the rear. The district also includes 20th century apartment complexes. Also located in the district is the St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and the Sailors and Soldiers Monument. The separately listed Howard Pyle Studios are also located in the district.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, with a boundary increase in 1987.

The Delaware Children's Theatre (DCT) is a community theatre in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. The theatre company occupies the historic New Century Club building.
