Freienbach SOB railway station

Freienbach SBB railway station is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Schwyz and municipality of Freienbach. The station is located on the Lake Zurich left-bank railway line, owned by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). It is an intermediate stop on Zurich S-Bahn service S8, between Zurich and Pfaffikon SZ.Freienbach SBB station should not be confused with the nearby Freienbach SOB railway station, which is on the Pfäffikon SZ–Arth-Goldau line. The two stations are approximately 500 metres (1,600 ft) apart on foot.

The station is situated at the northern edge of the town, between the town centre and Lake Zurich.The station forms part of the Lake Zurich left bank railway line, which links Zürich Hauptbahnhof with Ziegelbrücke and Näfels, and is owned and operated by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). To the east of the station is the junction for the line to Rapperswil, which crosses Lake Zurich on the Seedamm, whilst to the west is the junction for the line to Arth-Goldau; both these latter being owned and operated by the Südostbahn (SOB).The station should not be confused with Pfäffikon ZH railway station, which is in Pfäffikon, canton of Zürich.

The Etzel is a mountain on the south side of Lake Zürich in Switzerland. Although its elevation, of 1,098 metres (3,602 ft), is relatively modest, it is notable for its aspect when viewed from the lake and its surroundings.
