Oak Wood School (formerly Abbotsfield School for Boys) is a coeducational secondary school with a sixth form, in the London Borough of Hillingdon, England. The school was rated 'Good' in its most recent Ofsted inspection. It shares a site with the Swakeleys School for Girls.

Swakeleys School for Girls is a secondary school and sixth form for girls located in the Hillingdon area of the London Borough of Hillingdon, England. It is the only girls' school in the borough and used to share a site with Abbotsfield School for Boys in Clifton Gardens, until it was rebuilt in 2017, and reformed into the unisex Oak Wood School. After the closure of Abbotsfield School, Swakeleys School became the only single-sex school in the London Borough of Hillingdon. The school was converted to academy status on 1 April 2011 and was previously a Foundation School administered by Hillingdon London Borough Council. The school continues to coordinate with Hillingdon London Borough Council for admissions. The school offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils. while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A Levels and further BTECs. Abbotsfield School for Boys was an all-boys school in Hillingdon, West London. It closed on 20 July 2017, replaced on the site by the new co-ed Oak Wood School, which officially opened on 1 September 2017, under the same head teacher, Mark Bland.

Hewens College (formerly Mellow Lane School) is a secondary school with academy status in Hayes, Hillingdon. It is part of the Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust The school caters for years 7–13, teaching KS3, KS4 and A Level.

Mellow Lane School was a comprehensive school, located in Hayes, in the London Borough of Hillingdon, Middlesex. It closed in 2011 and reopened in August of that year, as Hewens College.

Gutteridge Wood and Meadows is a Local Nature Reserve (LNR) in Yeading in the London Borough of Hillingdon, which is owned by Hillingdon Council and managed by the London Wildlife Trust (LWT). It is also part of the Yeading Brook Meadows Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation, which includes two neighbouring reserves managed by the LWT, Ten Acre Wood and Yeading Brook Meadows LNRs.The site is a mosaic of woods and meadows, bisected by Yeading Brook. The trees are principally oak, with some ash and silver birch. The northern edge of the meadow has a variety of wild flowers. Birds include kestrels, great spotted woodpeckers and kingfishers.The boundary of the LNR is unclear. The LWT map and one on the Natural England information page show an area east of Lyndhurst Crescent and south of Western Avenue, consisting of 25 hectares (62 acres); however, the Natural England 'MAGIC' map shows the site as 'Yeading Woods LNR', and includes part of Ten Acre Wood, consisting of 31.59 hectares (78.1 acres) total.There is access to the part of the site south of Yeading Brook from Lynhurst Crescent and by a footpath from Ten Acre Wood.

The Angel is a Grade II listed public house at 697 Uxbridge Road, Hayes, Middlesex, UB4 8HX. It was built in 1926, and designed by Nowell Parr for Fuller's Brewery.It was Grade II listed in 2015 by Historic England.

Ickenham Marsh is an area of grassland and marsh in the London Borough of Hillingdon. It is managed as a nature reserve by London Wildlife Trust.

Hillingdon is an area of Uxbridge within the London Borough of Hillingdon, centred 14.2 miles (22.8 km) west of Charing Cross. It was an ancient parish in Middlesex that included the market town of Uxbridge. During the 1920s the civil parish bore a rapid, planned increase in population and housing, and was absorbed by Uxbridge Urban District in 1929. It has formed part of Greater London since 1965.Much of Hillingdon has lasting, albeit minor, administrative effect as the current Hillingdon East ward for electing councillors to Hillingdon London Borough Council. In November 2010, the ward had a recorded population of 12,403.

Hillingdon tube station is a London Underground station in North Hillingdon in the London Borough of Hillingdon, West London. Located between Uxbridge and Ickenham, it is in Travelcard Zone 6. It is the penultimate station on the Uxbridge branch of both the Metropolitan line and the Piccadilly line. Resited in 1992, it is also the most recently constructed station on the Metropolitan line.

The Royal Air Force Sports Ground is a cricket ground in Uxbridge, situated behind RAF Uxbridge. The ground also goes by the name of Vine Lane, a nearby main road. It was first used in 1939 by the RAF. Teams such as the MCC, the Middlesex Cricket Board, the Army, Middlesex youth teams and the Combined Services have all played on the ground throughout its history. The ground has seen one first-class match, in 1964, between the Combined Services and Cambridge University.
