Meridian Bank Tower (Phoenix)

The Phoenix Financial Center consists of a high-rise office building and two adjacent rotunda buildings located along Central Avenue in the Midtown district of Phoenix, Arizona, United States. They were built in 1963 by the Financial Corporation of Arizona. Ground was broken for the facility in September 1963, and the complex was dedicated for opening on September 28, 1964.The tower fronts Osborn Avenue and is commonly referred to locally as the "Punchcard Building," due to aesthetic similarities between the building's southeastern facade and a computer punch card. Originally, the main tower consisted only of 10 stories; the extra nine were added in 1972. The design included provisions for erecting a second tower that was a mirror image of the first on the north side of the property, but was never built (this area is currently a visitor parking lot). At that time, the building became the headquarters for Western Savings and Loan. The two rotundas front Central Avenue and are mirror images of each other. They consist of two stories and a basement, and utilize glass around most of the circumference. Each has a stained glass star at the top of the dome of slightly different designs. The Phoenix Financial Center is an example of International style architecture, featuring many elements of Googie design. The architect of the building is Wenceslaus Sarmiento. The building is said to be the site of a "fallout-proof" time capsule which was set to be opened in 2012, but the capsule has never been found.The complex is located close to the Park Central station of METRO Light Rail, which contains displays detailing the history of the Phoenix Financial Center as well as other buildings in the area. Phoenix Financial Center served as a filming location for the movie What Planet Are You From? which was released in 2000 and directed by Mike Nichols. The film was co-written by, and starred Garry Shandling who grew up in Tucson. The film also featured Ben Kingsley, Annette Bening, John Goodman and Greg Kinnear. Phoenix Financial Center is used as the building where the main character is employed and is featured prominently in many scenes of the film. Phoenix Financial Center can also be seen briefly in the opening flyover scene of 2016's Bad Santa 2, starring Billy Bob Thornton.

3300 North Central Avenue (also known as 3300 Tower) is a high-rise located along Central Avenue in Uptown Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The tower rises 27 floors and 356 feet (109 m) in height. Designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, 3300 North Central Avenue was built in 1980. Oxford Properties was developer of the project, and Poole Construction was contractor. Upon completion, it stood as the fourth-tallest building in Phoenix and the tallest building outside of Downtown Phoenix. It was built as the headquarters of United Bank of Arizona (later purchased by Citibank, then Norwest). Today, it stands as the 12th-tallest building in the city. It is currently the headquarters of the Arizona State Retirement System. Like its next door neighbor, the Great American Tower, 3300 North is rotated 45 degrees from the street grid. It is, however, an eight sided building with a 45-degree angle cut into each of the four corners. The building is covered with reflective glass with the exception of the corners, the crown and the lobby, which expose the concrete construction. 3300 North was designed at a time when the architectural trend was shifting away from the International Style and towards Post Modernism and thus, has elements of both architectural styles.

Osborn/Central Avenue (also known as Park Central) is a station on Valley Metro Rail in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. It is the seventh stop southbound and the twenty-second stop northbound on the initial 20-mile starter line.

Phoenix City Square, formerly Kent Plaza and the Rosenzweig Center, is a mixed use high rise complex covering 15 acres at 3800-4000 N. Central Ave. in Phoenix, Arizona. The project was developed by the Del Webb Corporation in 1962. The complex features 3 office towers, a hotel, an open-air retail plaza, and a 1200-car parking garage. City Square was designed by the architectural firm of Flatow, Moore, Bryan, and Fairburn. The towers were constructed in 1962, 1964, and 1971. 3800 Tower is 194,482 square feet (18,068.0 m2); 3838 Tower is 236,094 square feet (21,933.9 m2); and 4000 Tower is 295,797 square feet. There is also a large 35,000-square-foot (3,300 m2) Fitness Center, known as Sports Club at City Square, that is part of the complex. Phoenix City Square is on Central Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona. The Metro Light Rail track runs down this portion of Central Avenue. This project is part of the Valley Metro system. On December 27, 2008, Valley Metro Light Rail officially opened. It remains to be seen if this will have an impact in increasing tenancy at City Square, though it will serve to connect the area to Downtown Phoenix. There are a variety of businesses that are part of the complex. Besides having a fitness center, there are also cafes, a day care, a barber shop, law offices, accounting firms, engineering consultants, etc. There is also an on-site U.S. Bank as part of the City Square area.

The 3200 N Central Building, formally known as Great American Tower, is a high-rise office building located along Central Avenue in the Uptown area of Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The tower rises 24 floors and 320 feet (98 m) in height. Owned by DPC Companies and Bridge Commercial Real Estate, 3200 N Central was built in 1985. Upon completion it stood as the sixth-tallest building in Phoenix, and today it stands as the 19th-tallest building in the city. The building was developed by Oxford Properties who also developed its neighbor 3300 North Central Avenue. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill was the architect, and Westbrook Construction was the contractor.Like its next-door neighbor, the 3300 North Central Avenue, 3200 N Central is rotated 45 degrees from the street grid. It is, however, an eight sided building with a 45-degree angle cut into each of the four corners. 3200 N Central is designed in the Post Modern style. It features exterior columns and spandrels giving the tower an angular, repetitive appearance. The top floor plate is smaller than the rest of the tower and features a balcony, which rings the outer perimeter with the exception of its 45-degree corners.

The Central Avenue Corridor is a significant stretch of north–south Central Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona. Roughly bounded by Camelback Road to its north, and McDowell Road to its south, this is one of Phoenix's most vital and heavily trafficked stretches of roads. It is also one of the region's largest centers of employment, with nearly 60,000 people being employed within a three-mile (5 km) radius of this swath of Central Avenue. Major employers here include major banks and financial institutions, hi-tech companies, and several significant law firms and government agencies. This corridor bisects a larger area known as Midtown, Phoenix—the collection of neighborhoods north of downtown, and south of the North-Central and Sunnyslope areas. Park Central Mall was the first shopping mall in Phoenix, Arizona. It is located in Encanto Village, on Central Avenue and Osborn Road. Today it exists as a mixed-use, business park primarily occupied by regional administrative offices for non-profit hospital operator Dignity Health (formerly known as Catholic Healthcare West), and regional offices for UnitedHealth Group. The property currently is known simply as Park Central.

Indian School/Central Avenue (also known as Steele Indian School Park) is a station on the Metro light rail line in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. It is the sixth stop southbound and the twenty-third stop northbound on the initial 20 mile starter line.

The Phoenix Corporate Tower (formerly known as First Federal Savings Building) is a 26-story high-rise office building in Phoenix, Arizona. It was built in 1965 and designed in the International Style. The tower was built two miles north of Downtown Phoenix in the Central Corridor. At that time, corporate investment turned its attention away from downtown. When the tower was completed, it was the tallest building in Phoenix, taking that distinction away from the Executive Towers Condominiums. It remained the tallest building for six years until the Wells Fargo Plaza was completed in 1971.

Phoenix Plaza is a mixed use office complex located in midtown Phoenix, Arizona. It was built between 1988 and 1990 at a cost of US$158 million. There is 1,600,000 square feet (150,000 m2) of office space plus 225 hotel rooms. Phoenix Plaza has three hi-rise office buildings, a large parking garage and a hotel tower. Two distinct design concepts can be seen. The façades of CenturyLink Tower, the parking structure and Hilton Suites are colored in the late 1980s design trend of combining the pastel hues of “dusty rose” with turquoise. Phoenix Plaza Towers One and Two are sleek, modern, highly polished and complement the desert inspired buildings, which share their site. The architect for the buildings was Langdon Wilson and Phoenix Plaza was developed by the Koll Company and BetaWest Properties, Inc.

Thomas/Central Avenue (also known as Midtown Phoenix) is a light rail station on Valley Metro Rail in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. It is the seventh stop southbound and the twenty-second stop northbound on the initial 20 mile starter line. The station is north of Thomas Road, and it can be accessed from both Thomas Road, at the south, and Catalina Drive, two blocks to the north. Catalina Drive is the south-boundary street for Park Central Mall.

On July 27, 2007, two AS-350 AStar helicopters from television stations KNXV-TV and KTVK collided in mid-air over Phoenix, Arizona, while covering a police pursuit. On board the two aircraft were four people in total – pilot Craig Smith and photographer Rick Krolak from KNXV-TV, and pilot Scott Bowerbank and photographer Jim Cox from KTVK – all of whom were killed, while no casualties were reported on the ground.
