Barnes Methodist Church

The OSO Arts Centre is a theatre and arts centre located in Barnes in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The building was previously the postal sorting office, but was redeveloped into a mixture of residential and commercial space with the first residents moving in in 1999. In 2002 the arts centre opened and in 2012 the OSO Arts Centre came under the direction of a new board of trustees. The building is located on Barnes Green, and provides arts services to the community, both in the form of evening performances in the theatre space, and daytime dance and art classes. Some well-known names have performed at the OSO over the years including Patricia Hodge, Timothy West, Stephanie Cole, Julian Glover, Janie Dee, Issy van Randwyck, Harriet Thorpe, Lee Nelson and Robert Pattinson.The theatre is currently led by Artistic Director Jonny Danciger and General Manager Lisa Ross. Its artistic ambassadors include Gyles Brandreth, Roger McGough and Kate Silverton. During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 the theatre space was refurbished as a 'Crisis Kitchen', with the OSO staff and volunteers preparing over 10,000 free meals for the elderly and vulnerable, NHS workers, and those in economic hardship. The chair of trustees was awarded an MBE in the 2021 New Years Honours list for this initiative.A full refurbishment of the venue, designed by B3 Designers, was completed in Autumn 2020. The refurbished theatre was officially opened by Michael Ball in October 2020.

18 Station Road, also known as Milbourne House, is a Grade II* listed house at Station Road, Barnes, London SW13, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It has an early 18th-century facade, and earlier features internally.It was home to the novelist Henry Fielding in about 1750, for which there is a blue plaque on the facade. Field Marshal James O'Hara, 2nd Baron Tyrawley moved there in 1770.

The Sun Inn is a Grade II listed public house overlooking the village pond at 7 Church Road, Barnes in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It was built as a coffee-house in the mid-18th century, but the architect is not known.The Sun Inn is now part of the Mitchells & Butlers chain.

Old Essex House is a Grade II listed house at Station Road, Barnes, London SW13 0LW.It has its origins in the late 16th/early 17th centuries. It is now a doctors' surgery

70 Barnes High Street, also known as the Rose House, is a Grade II listed house in Barnes, London SW13, which dates from the 17th century. It is now used by the Barnes Community Association as office accommodation.

Church Road, Barnes is a street in Barnes in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It runs from the junction between Rocks Lane (heading south towards Barnes Common and Barnes Station) and Castlenau (running northwards to Hammersmith Bridge) by the Red Lion pub, westwards to the end of Barnes High Street. It takes its name from the St Mary's Church, a Church of England building dating back to the twelfth century. Also located on the street are the Sun Inn and the early eighteenth century The Homestead, both Grade II listed. Barnes Green runs on the south side of the street. The Olympic Studios were located in the street, notable for the records that Jimi Hendrix made there.Along with Barnes High Street it is the historic centre of Barnes, now a suburb of London but historically a village located several miles away from Central London. With the High Street it now forms part of the A3003 road. Many of the current buildings date back to the Victorian and Edwardian eras.

St Ann's Ground was a cricket ground at Barnes, Surrey (now in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames). In 1889 the Lyric Club played the Marylebone Cricket Club in a non first-class match. The only first-class match held at the ground came in 1890 when the Lyric Club played the touring Australians, which the Lyric Club won by 96 runs. The final important match at the ground, in 1892, was between the Lyric Club and the Marylebone Cricket Club. The ground was located within the grounds of St Ann's House, which in the early 1900s it was built over. The approximate location of the house today would be near Lyric Road and St Ann's Road, which are near the River Thames.

Barnes High Street is a road running through the centre of Barnes in England. It is located in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and is the high street of the suburb of Barnes featuring a number of commercial properties including shops and pubs. It is located a short distance from Barnes Bridge railway station. It runs from The Terrace in the north by the River Thames to Barnes Green where it forks with one route Station Road heading on south towards Barnes railway station and on the other Church Road curving eastwards towards St Mary's Church and onwards in the general direction of Putney. Notable buildings include the Grade II listed Rose House, dating back to the seventeenth century and The Bull's Head pub, which gained fame as a music venue in the twentieth century. Another pub, the Coach and Horses, is located nearby. Old Essex House is located just to the south of the junction with Station Road. The street is referred to in the 1907 novel The City of Pleasure by Arnold Bennett.

The Bull's Head, also known as "The Bull", is a pub in Barnes situated within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, England. It hosts live music in an attached music room that has a capacity for 80 people.Overlooking the river Thames in the south west London suburb of Barnes, it was one of the first and most important jazz venues in Britain. The Bull's original music room was opened at the same time as Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and became known as the "suburban Ronnie Scott's".

Barnes Bridge railway station, in Travelcard Zone 3, is on The Terrace, Barnes in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, in south west London. The station and all trains serving it are operated by South Western Railway. It is on the Hounslow Loop Line, 12 km (71⁄2 miles) south west of London Waterloo. It was opened on 12 March 1916 on the Surrey side of the River Thames on the embankment leading to Barnes Railway Bridge, from which it takes its name. The station, which is not wheelchair-accessible, has an ornate entrance facing the river. Stairs lead up to the two platforms, each with a modest shelter. The old ticket office is now used as a physiotherapy clinic.Barnes Bridge railway station is more central to Barnes than Barnes railway station. Passenger numbers are swelled on Boat Race days.

The Terrace is a street in Barnes in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It forms part of the A3003, and runs west from its junction with Barnes High Street and Lonsdale Road to the east, where it becomes Mortlake High Street. Only one side of the street has houses; they all overlook the River Thames. The Terrace runs along the west bend of the river and is lined with Georgian mansions, most of them dating from the 18th century and some from as early as 1720. Many of the houses are Grade II listed buildings and there have been several notable residents. The street also includes Barnes Railway Bridge, Barnes Bridge station and a Victorian pub, The White Hart, which overlooks the Thames and is a prominent landmark on the course of the Boat Race. It served as a headquarters for Barnes Football Club in the mid-19th century.

14 The Terrace, Barnes is a Grade II listed house at The Terrace, Barnes, London SW13, facing the River Thames, built as one of a pair with No 13 in the mid-eighteenth century.Dame Ninette de Valois (1898–2001), dancer, teacher, choreographer, and director of classical ballet, lived there from 1962 to 1982. A blue plaque is fixed to the front of the house.
