Bridgemary School is an 11-16 secondary school with academy status in Gosport, Hampshire, England. Bridgemary School takes part of its cohort from the most deprived ward in Gosport. However, it has always been categorised as a failing school by Ofsted. In 2001 staff were given a DfES (Department for Education and Skills) bonus for significant improvement, of more than 7%, in the GCSE A*-C pass rate. Results continued to rise, until a fall of 4% in 2004 brought it back to 25% (DfES, 2004). This was despite Ofsted's assertion, in July 2004, that: 'Results in 2003 were in line with those in similar schools at the end of Year 9, and above average for similar schools at the end of Year 11'. (Ofsted Report, 2004. pg.8) The school was also identified by DfES as being among 148 nationwide which were likely to have a "high number of persistent truants". It is perhaps to the credit of staff and external agencies, working with the community, that unauthorised absence remained as low as 3.5% during this time.(Dfes, 2004.ibid) The former principal, Richard Carlyle, introduced some ability-centred no-age-related classes (with year groups: E1, E2, E3, L1 and L2), and by 2006 the GCSE A to C pass rate had risen to 35%.In September 2006 it was announced that Bridgemary College was to be the first school in the country to offer teaching around the clock with teaching and extra-curricular activities taking place from 7am to 10pm and learning modules being available online at any time. The scheme was to be phased in over four years, beginning in September 2007. In the first and second stages, the school planned to ensure that teaching support was available 24 hours a day and in four different time slots for four different groups of students. Stage three would see teaching expanded to 364 days a year, while stage four envisages community users integrated into the pupils' school experience.

Gosport and Fareham was a parliamentary constituency in Hampshire which returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1950 until it was abolished for the February 1974 general election. It was then replaced by two new constituencies, Gosport and Fareham. The incumbent MP, Reginald Bennett, was re-elected in the new Fareham constituency.

Cams Hall at Fareham, Hampshire, United Kingdom, is a Palladian mansion set in parkland overlooking Portsmouth Harbour. The land at Cams Hall was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 and a manor house was recorded here as far back as the 13th century. The current building, designed by the architect Jacob Leroux, was constructed of Portland stone and yellow bricks around 1770. Later adaptations to the house have been attributed to the famous Georgian architects the Adam Brothers. The building fell into disrepair in the 1950s and was listed as a derelict building in 1989 but was restored in the 1990s.

Fort Fareham is one of the Palmerston Forts, in Fareham, England. After the Gosport Advanced Line of Fort Brockhurst, Fort Elson, Fort Rowner, Fort Grange and Fort Gomer had been approved by the Royal Commission on the Defence of the United Kingdom a decision was made to build an outer line of three more forts two miles in advance of the Gosport Advanced Line. Of these three projected forts only Fort Fareham was built due to the need to cut costs. It acted as a hinge between the forts on Portsdown Hill and those of the Gosport Advanced Line, filling the gap at Fareham. It has been a Grade II Listed Building since 1976.

Fareham ( FAIR-əm) is a market town at the north-west tip of Portsmouth Harbour, between the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton in south east Hampshire, England. It gives its name to the Borough of Fareham. It was historically an important manufacturer of bricks, used to build the Royal Albert Hall, and grower of strawberries and other seasonal fruits.

The Church of the Sacred Heart is the Roman Catholic parish church of the town of Fareham in Hampshire, southern England. It opened in 1878 on a centrally located site, replacing a converted shed which had been used for worship since 1873. John Crawley, a London-based architect whose other nearby Catholic churches include Portsmouth's Catholic cathedral and St Joseph's Church, Havant, was responsible for the design—a "small and well-detailed essay" in flint and brick, in the Decorated Gothic Revival style. The parish has a second church in an outer part of Fareham, but another in the nearby village of Portchester has closed and has been demolished.

Wykeham House School is a former independent day school for girls and boys in market town of Fareham, Hampshire in South East England. Until its closure Wykeham House School was the only school in the Borough of Fareham offering specialised single sex education for both girls and boys. In October 2015 the proprietors of neighbouring Boundary Oak School disclosed to parents that they were in discussion with Wykeham House School for a possible acquisition or merger. In response, Wykeham House School invited parents of Wykeham House pupils to an urgent meeting on 15 October 2015 at which the existence of confidential merger discussions was confirmed. A subsequent reduction in pupil numbers at Wykeham House led to Wykeham House School formally announcing its closure on 12 November 2015. The School closed at the end of Autumn Term on 16 December 2015. Administrators were appointed on 11 January 2016.

Fareham Common is a suburb and small village near Fareham, Hampshire. The village lies 1.3 miles (2.8 km) north from the town of Fareham. The suburb is only made up of a few industrial estates. It is north of the M27 motorway Nearest villages are Knowle and Wickham.

Fareham Academy is a medium-sized mixed secondary school, with five tiers of entry (ages 11–16), located in St Anne's Grove in Fareham, England. Along with The Henry Cort Community College and Cams Hill School, it is one of the three main state schools which serve the town of Fareham. The school was called Neville Lovett Learning Community High School until 2013. Fareham Academy is a Converter Academy, which means that it voluntarily converted in 2013 to allow it to manage its own finances and have more independence in the curriculum that it delivers. In 2016, the Attainment 8 Score for the Academy was 51.7, with a Hampshire average of 51.1 and a National average of 48.5. The Progress 8 score of 0.3 puts the Academy in the top 25% of schools in the country.
