Olivet Presbyterian Church

Spring Hill is a historic home located near Providence Forge, Virginia. It was built about 1765, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, five-bay, gable-roofed, timber-frame Federal style dwelling. It has a center-hall plan. An addition was built in 1947. Also on the property is a contributing smokehouse. It is representative of a typical mid- to late-18th-century farmhouse in the Tidewater area of Virginia. The house was constructed by Richard Croshaw Graves prior to the American Revolution. During the American Revolution (1776–82), he commanded the New Kent and Charles County militias. Following the war, he returned to his plantation, which he named "Indian Fields," and built a new residence for his expanding family between 1782 and 1784. Graves passed away there in 1798. The property passed to his son, Colonel Richard Graves. The Graves family held ownership of Indian Fields until it was sold in 1863. Local legend has it that Thomas Jefferson spent the eve of his wedding to Martha Wayles Skelton at Indian Fields with his friend Richard C. Graves. The young lawyer was traveling from Williamsburg, where he was attending court sessions, to Martha's family home, "The Forest," located in Charles City County. He began his journey on Christmas Eve, and arrived at "The Forest" shortly after Christmas Day, 1771. He would have spent Christmas en route with the Graves family. Jefferson applied for a marriage license on December 31, 1771, and the couple was married on New Year's Day, 1772. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Emmaus Baptist Church is a historic Southern Baptist church located near Providence Forge, New Kent County, Virginia. It was built between 1849 and 1852, and is a rectangular, simple nave- plan structure in the Greek Revival style. It measures 38 feet wide by 50 feet long. Also on the property is a contributing church cemetery that contains 195 tombstones with dates ranging from 1855 to 1989. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Crawfords State Forest is a 258-acre (104 ha) state forest in New Kent County, Virginia. It is covered in mixed hardwoods, including bald cypress, tupelo, and loblolly pine. Crawfords State Forest is owned and maintained by the Virginia Department of Forestry. The forest is open to the public for horseback riding and hiking. Hunting, camping, and motorized vehicles are prohibited. Some uses may require visitors to possess a valid State Forest Use Permit.

Mountcastle is an unincorporated community in New Kent County, Virginia, United States.

Providence Forge is an unincorporated community in New Kent County, Virginia, United States. It was one of the earliest settlements in the county (itself formed by 1654) and the site of a colonial iron forge that was destroyed by British General Banastre Tarleton during the American Revolutionary War. Nearby, the Chickahominy River separates New Kent from Charles City County. U.S. Route 60 and State Route 155 pass through Providence Forge. The Colonial Downs horse-racing facility is located nearby adjacent to the Providence Forge exit of Interstate 64. A station on the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway (C&O) was located at Providence Forge in 1881 during construction of the railroad's new Peninsula Subdivision, which was built primarily to facilitate transportation of West Virginia bituminous coal to the newly created city of Newport News. There, on the harbor of Hampton Roads, coal piers were built to load colliers for worldwide export shipment.The C&O's Peninsula Extension was good news for the farmers and merchants of the Virginia Peninsula, and they generally welcomed the railroad. Providence Forge was a stop for passengers until about 1931 and for freight until at least the late 1960s, according to the Chesapeake & Ohio Historical Society. The structure was dismantled sometime in 2006. The only similar structure, at Lee Hall, has been preserved and efforts were underway in 2008 to relocate it slightly away from the right-of-way and open it as a museum.Cedar Grove, Emmaus Baptist Church, Olivet Presbyterian Church, and Spring Hill are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Criss Cross is a Colonial style brick house built about 1690 by George Poindexter in New Kent County, Virginia. It is similar in style to neighboring Foster's Castle. George Poindexter was the immigrant founder of the Poindexters in America. Originally from Jersey, he settled his family in the Virginia Colony. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Moss Side is a historic farm property at 8501 Virginia State Route 249 in central New Kent County, Virginia. It now consists of about 226 acres (91 ha), whose centerpiece is a two-story wood-frame I-house built about 1870. Although this type of house was once quite common, it is a well-preserved example of the style, and is accompanied by a period outbuilding that probably functioned as either a guest house, kitchen, or tenant housing. Although the property's early history is dominated by the Christian family, these buildings date to the late 19th-century ownership by Henry Meyers, who gave the property its name. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017.

Talleysville is an unincorporated community in New Kent County, Virginia, United States. Two buildings in the area, its St. Peter's Church and the Marl Hill were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969 and 1990 respectively.

Cedar Lane is a historic farm property at 9040 Virginia State Route 249 in central New Kent County, Virginia. Built about 1782, it is one of the county's better examples of early Federal period architecture. It is a two-story frame structure, with a gabled roof and clapboarded exterior. An open hip-roofed porch extends across the front of the main block, which is flanked by two-story and one-story wings. It was probably built by either William Poindexter or by his daughter Ann and her husband Thomas Howle, and achieved much of its present form by 1860. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017.
