Skotselv is a village in the municipality of Øvre Eiker, Norway. Its population (2005) is 684, of which 8 people live within the border of the neighbouring municipality of Modum. It has a railway station on the Randsfjord Line.

Dramdal is a small village in Øvre Eiker, Buskerud, Norway. It is situated on the eastern bank of Drammenselva, opposite the village of Skotselv on the other side of the river. Norwegian National Road Riksvei 35 passes through the village.

Gustadbakken was a K81 ski jumping hill located at Geithus, Modum, Norway. Five official world records were set on the hill between 1902 and 1912.

Burud is a village in Øvre Eiker municipality in Buskerud, Norway. Burud is located on the western bank of Drammenselva, 75 kilometers from Oslo. It had a train station (Burud stasjon) which dated to 1875 on the Randsfjordbanen between Hokksund and Skotselv. This building was demolished in 1988. The station was downgraded to stop downloading tracks with passenger traffic closed down in 2001.

Hokksund Station (Norwegian: Hokksund stasjon) is located in the village of Hokksund in Øvre Eiker, Norway on the Sørlandet Line. The station is served by local trains between Kongsberg via Oslo to Eidsvoll operated by the Vy as well as express trains from Oslo to Bergen and Kristiansand.

Øvre Eiker is a municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Eiker. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Hokksund. The old municipality of Eiker was divided into Øvre Eiker (upper Eiker) and Nedre Eiker (lower) on 1 July 1885. As of 2015, more employees worked for the [municipal] government and in the service sector, than in any other field of employment; even fewer—16 %—are employed in construction or in [electrical] power companies and water companies; [13%] work in the manufacturing sector.

Vikersundbakken or Vikersund Hill is a ski flying hill at Vikersund in Modum, Norway. It is one of the two largest purpose-built ski flying hills in the world. Nine world records have been set there, including the current record of 253.5 meters, set by Stefan Kraft. The complex consists of a large hill, a normal hill and several training hills. The hill originally constructed by Kristian Hovde was opened in 1936 as a large hill. It was rebuilt as ski flying hill in 1964, and was modified in 1989, 1999 and 2010. The present large hill was built in 1988. Vikersundbakken was the first ski flying hill to receive floodlights in 2006. It has hosted the FIS Ski Flying World Championships in 1977, 1990, 2000, 2012 and 2022.

Steinberg is a small village in Nedre Eiker municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. The village lies next to the municipal centre and town of Mjøndalen separated by E134 highway. The village is situated next to the Drammenselva river stretching west towards the village of Loesmoen in the neighbouring municipality of Øvre Eiker. A riverside park lies along the river. The community has both an elementary school and kindergarten, a number of businesses, an art gallery, and a sports club. High school and other students have to commute to other larger community centres in the surrounding municipalities of Nedre Eiker, Øvre Eiker or Drammen. Steinberg is principally a residential area with most of the active work force commutes by car or train to larger cities in the region such as Drammen and Oslo.The community has championed the continued survival of Steinberg Station on the Sørlandet Line (Sørlandsbanen). The station was closed for three years from December 2012 but opened once again in September 2015, much in part thanks to the "activist group for the preservation of Steinberg Train Station. Steinberg train station has been renovated for ca 30 million NOK and meets now the standards for modern trains. The national railways have wished to eliminate the Steinberg stop but have thus far been unsuccessful.Originally the rural community was called Stemberlandet, and later changed to Steinberg possibly due to a national railway standardization of placenames. Stemberlandet "the sorting land" referred to the fact that the logging industry sorted the timber in different stations along the Drammenselva river. Authorities concluded that Stemberlandet was not a real village name, and was thus changed to Steinberg.

Ormåsen is a village in Buskerud, Norway. It is a 0.41 square kilometres (0.16 sq mi) residential area located the municipality of Øvre Eiker. The village was built during 1986. Ormåsen is located midway between Hokksund and Vestfossen. As of 2005, the population was 809. Ormåsen has a private weather station which is located approximately 280 metres (920 ft) above sea level.
