Armour Boulevard, Armour, or 35th Street is a major west–east main street that runs in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, from Broadway Boulevard to The Paseo. It is named in honor of Simeon B. Armour of Armour and Company.

The Derrick Thomas Academy was a tuition-free, public charter school in Kansas City, Missouri. It opened in 2001 and was named for former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Derrick Thomas. As of the 2009-2010 school year, the Academy served approximately 1,000 students in Grades PreK-8. It was an EdisonLearning charter school, but parted ways with EdisonLearning in 2011.

39th Street is a major east–west street in Kansas City, Missouri, running almost 5 miles from State Line Road at the Kansas-Missouri border to Topping Avenue in Kansas City's East Side. It was originally named Rosedale Avenue as it led to the town of Rosedale. It continues west into Kansas as 39th Avenue through The University of Kansas Hospital's Kansas City, Kansas, campus. Running through Kansas City's urban core, 39th Street connects many historic neighborhoods including Volker, Roanoke, Westport, Hyde Park, Squier Park, and Ivanhoe. It plays an important role as an east-west artery, providing cross-town traffic with access to most of Kansas City's main north-south thoroughfares: State Line Road, Southwest Trafficway, Broadway Boulevard, Main Street, Gillham Road, Troost Avenue, The Paseo, U.S. Route 71, Prospect Avenue, and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard. West of Gillham Road, 39th Street is zoned predominantly commercial or mixed-use space as compared to residential zoning to the east.

The Uptown Theater is a historic theater located in Kansas City, Missouri. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 as the Uptown Building and Theater.

The Beacon is a non-profit online news outlet in the Kansas City metropolitan area focusing on public-interest journalism. It is Kansas City’s first regional nonprofit news outlet that is not a public television or radio station.It was founded in 2020 by Kelsey Ryan, a former Investigative journalist for the Kansas City Star and a 2018 Pulitzer Prize finalist. It launched earlier than planned on March 12, 2020, in response to community information needs with the COVID-19 pandemic. The news network is overseen by an eight-member Board of Directors and the Kansas City newsroom works with a 10-member community advisory board. The news organization received initial funding from a Google News Initiative Innovation Challenge in 2019 and has received additional funding from the Solutions Journalism Network in order to write about broadband infrastructure in Kansas and Missouri. It is a member of the Institute for Nonprofit News, Local Independent Online News Publishers (LION), and the Kansas Press Association.The Beacon won the 2020 "Emerging Publisher" award from Local Independent Online News (LION) Publishers. It also won the 2021 "Community Champion" award from the Institute for Nonprofit News.In 2021, The Beacon expanded into a regional news network beyond Kansas City, and launched a second local newsroom in Wichita, Kansas, called The Wichita Beacon. The expansion into a regional news network from a single newsroom was spurred with a commitment of $1.1 million from the Wichita Community Foundation and funding from the American Journalism Project.

Cristo Rey Kansas City High School is a Roman Catholic high school founded by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth in 2006 as a part of the Cristo Rey Network of schools. It is located in Kansas City, Missouri, in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-Saint Joseph.

The Knickerbocker Apartments were located at 501-535 Knickerbocker Place in the Valentine Neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri. The Late 19th and 20th Century Revival style building was designed by Leon Grant Middaugh and J.A. Rose, and was built in 1909. It is significant for its architecture, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. It was demolished in 2020. The Historic Kansas City Foundation listed the apartments on their 2014 Most Endangered list of buildings in the Kansas City area. A fire in May 2020 created further damage to the vacant buildings. They were owned by the Kansas City Life Insurance Company and were demolished in July-August 2020. An identical building on the north side of the street was razed in 1982 for a Kansas City Life Insurance Company expansion project.

Pilgrim Lutheran Church for the Deaf of Greater Kansas City and Parsonage is a historic site at 3801-3807 Gilham Road in Kansas City, Missouri. It was built in 1941 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

The 1855 Harris-Kearney House is an historical site located in Kansas City, Missouri, in the Westport neighborhood. Originally, the house was located at the intersection of modern-day Westport Road and Main Street (where the Katz Drug Store was located) The home is the oldest brick residence in the city.This Greek Revival mansion was built in 1855, and was owned by Col. John "Jack" Harris and his wife Henrietta. The Mansion House, as it was known, was moved to 4000 Baltimore, in 1922.

Valentine is a historic neighborhood in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri. It is just north of the Westport entertainment district, bounded by Broadway on the east, Southwest Trafficway on the west, 31st Street on the north, and 40th Street on the south.Most of the houses in Valentine were built in the early 1900s and include such styles as Shirtwaist, Arts and Crafts, Colonial Revival, Georgian Revival, and bungalow.The Valentine Neighborhood Association was formed in 1971. The first president was Joe Cigas, for whom a street is named.
