Fifth and Main Historic District

The Elks Club Lodge No. 501 is a historic Elks Lodge located at Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. It was built in 1904–1905, and is a two-story brick and stone hip roofed building designed in Colonial Revival / Georgian Revival architectural styles. It measures 102 feet by 62 feet and features a columned portico flanked by two slightly projecting bays accentuated by limestone quoins.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The Scottish Rite Cathedral is a historic Masonic Temple located at Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. It was built in 1923, and is a two-story, Beaux Arts style concrete and terra cotta social hall. It sits on a raised basement and features fluted Ionic order columns and pilasters.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Durward G. Hall Federal Building and United States Courthouse is an historic building located in Joplin, Missouri. Completed in 1904 and added to in 1936, the courthouse was constructed during a time of initial growth for the City of Joplin, following several years of civic effort to obtain a Federal Post Office and Courthouse. Originally constructed to house a U.S. Post Office, Federal Court Room and offices for various public agencies, today it stands as a well-preserved example of the neo-classical revival style popular in Federal buildings of the period. The building served as a courthouse of the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri from 1904 to 1999. It is named for U.S. Representative Durward Gorham Hall.

Fox Theater, also known as Central Assembly Central Christian Center, is a historic movie theater located at Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. It was built in 1930, and is a two-story, L-shaped, brick, single bay, two-part commercial building with Mission Revival detailing. The ornate interior features extensive displays of plaster, metal, and wood decoration executed in Spanish Revival designs. The building was sold to the Central Assembly Church of Joplin in 1974.: 2–3, 10 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. It is located in the Joplin Downtown Historic District.

Joplin Supply Company is a historic commercial building located at Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. It was built in 1922, and is a five-story, two-part vertical block commercial building. It is a steel reinforced concrete structure with brick cladding and large multi-pane windows and simple stone detailing.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. It is located in the Joplin and Wall Avenues Historic District.

The Gentry Apartments, also known as Zahn Apartments, is a historic apartment building located at Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. It was built in 1918, and is a six-story, U-shaped, buff brick building. It measures approximately 45 feet by 120 feet and retains its original open storefront with large display windows and transoms.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The collection includes approximately 115,000 items in print and non-print format. The Library is open 66 hours a week, including evenings and Saturday and Sunday. The Joplin Public Library District is a Special District, as are all library districts in Missouri. In Jasper County, the library district includes all property within the Joplin city limits. In Newton County, the library district includes only that portion of the City of Joplin which was within the city limits on October 13, 1965.

The Connor Hotel was a beaux arts style hotel at 324 Main Street in Joplin, Missouri, United States. Built between 1906 and 1908, the structure is best known nationally because of its unexpected collapse in 1978 which killed two men.

Joplin and Wall Avenues Historic District is a national historic district located at Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. The district encompasses 11 contributing buildings in the central business district of Joplin. It developed between about 1900 and 1939 and includes representative examples of Renaissance Revival and Late Gothic Revival style architecture. Located in the district is the previously listed Joplin Supply Company. Other notable buildings include the U. S. Court House and Post Office (1904), Cosgrove Building (1913), Independent Building (c. 1910), Hurlbut Chapel (c. 1920), and Crown/Greyhound Bus depot (1936).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Ridgway Apartments, also known as North Ridgeway Apartments & South Ridgeway Apartments, are two historic apartment buildings located at Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. They were built in 1918, and are three-story, rectangular brick buildings. Each measures approximately 42 feet by 125 feet and feature centrally placed entrances embellished with a prominent pediment surround and stepped parapets that crown the main facade.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. It is located in the Murphysburg Historic District.

Murphysburg Historic District is a national historic district located at Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. The district encompasses 185 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Joplin. It developed between about 1880 and 1965 and includes representative examples of Queen Anne, Richardsonian Romanesque, Classical Revival, Mission Revival, Colonial Revival, and Tudor Revival style architecture. Located in the district are the previously listed Olivia Apartments and Ridgway Apartments. Other notable buildings include the J.H. Brand House (1899), John Wise House (1898), A.B. McConnell House (c. 1899), H.H. McNeal House (1908), H. Edward Dangerfield House (1895), First Methodist Church (1905), and Second Church of Christ, Scientist (c. 1907).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Olivia Apartments is a historic apartment building located at Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. It was built in 1906 by a Canadian engineer who moved to Joplin during the mining boom. It is a five-story, U-shaped, red brick building. It measures approximately 100 feet by 125 feet and features Bedford limestone ornamentation and light colored brick cross hatching.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. It is located in the Murphysburg Historic District.
