Morningside Cemetery is a cemetery in Edinburgh. It was established in Edinburgh in 1878 by the Metropolitan Cemetery Company, originally just outwith the then city boundary, the nearest suburb then being Morningside. It extends to just over 13 acres in area. The cemetery contains 80 war graves. Although arguably visually uninspiring the cemetery contains the graves of several important female figures; including a female air commandant, Scotland's first female surgeon, the first female Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, a Nobel Prize winner and many church missionaries.

George Watson's College is a co-educational independent day school in Scotland, situated on Colinton Road, in the Merchiston area of Edinburgh. It was first established as a hospital school in 1741, became a day school in 1871, and was merged with its sister school George Watson's Ladies College in 1974. It is a Merchant Company of Edinburgh school and a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference.

The Edinburgh Wild West (also known as El Paso) is a lane in Morningside, Edinburgh, in Scotland that was decorated with American West–style façades as an advertisement for a local furniture company. Although it has since fallen into disrepair, it has become an informal tourist attraction.

Morningside Road railway station is a former railway station in the Morningside area of Edinburgh, Scotland. It was opened by the Edinburgh Suburban and Southside Junction Railway (ESSJR) on 1 December 1884 as Morningside Station. After the ESSJR was incorporated into the North British Railway on 1 March 1885, the station was renamed Morningside Road in October 1886.Morningside Road station closed in 1962, when passenger rail services were withdrawn from the Edinburgh Suburban line, although the line itself was retained for rail freight use. The route continues to be used for freight services to this day, and occasionally diverted passenger trains also pass through Morningside. Currently (2022) Avanti West Coast use the line for some empty coaching stock moves between Edinburgh and Glasgow and CrossCountry have a daily passenger train from Glasgow to Edinburgh.

Merchiston Tower, also known as Merchiston Castle, was probably built by Alexander Napier, the 2nd Laird of Merchiston around 1454. It serves as the seat for Clan Napier. It was the home of John Napier, the 8th Laird of Merchiston and the inventor of logarithms, who was born there in 1550. The tower stands at the centre of Edinburgh Napier University's Merchiston campus.

The Ian Tomlin School of Music, established 1968, is situated within the grounds of Merchiston campus at Edinburgh Napier University, Edinburgh, Scotland. The school is home to the BMus (Classical) and BA (Popular) Music courses. The courses are taught over three or four years. The school also offers research PhDs within its Applied Music Research Centre, primarily around composition and technology.

Morningside is a district and former village in the south of Edinburgh, Scotland. It lies alongside the main arterial Morningside Road, part of an ancient route from Edinburgh to the south west of Scotland. The original village served several farms and estates in the area. In the 19th century, it developed as a residential suburb, its growth being stimulated by the arrival of a railway service and other transport improvements.

Falcon Hall was a large mansion home in Morningside, Edinburgh. It was built in 1780 by William Coulter, a wealthy hosier and baillie who served as Lord Provost of Edinburgh from 1808 until his death in 1810.Falcon Hall was set on 18 acres (7.3 ha) between Newbattle Terrace and Canaan Lane. The property was acquired in the early 19th century by Alexander Falconar (d.1847), a merchant of the East India Company. Falconar added a neoclassical facade by the architect Thomas Hamilton, and renamed the house based on his name. Dr John George Bartholomew, a co-founder of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society and owner of the mapmaking company, John Bartholomew & Son Limited was a tenant of the house before 1908. The entrance to the property stood opposite to the old school. The pillars of the gateway were each surmounted by a falcon, one each side of the gates, painted in brown and gold. The gates were removed in 1874 and reassembled to form the entrance of Edinburgh Zoo in Corstorphine. The house was demolished in 1909, though the name Falcon was given to the streets later developed on the property. In 1911, when the firm John Bartholomew & Son Limited moved to new premises in Duncan Street, Edinburgh, the central portion of the Falcon Hall facade was re-erected on this new site as the Edinburgh Geographical Institute, where it remains today.

The Dominion Cinema is an independent Streamline Moderne cinema located in the Morningside area of Edinburgh, Scotland. The company was incorporated by William Cameron, on 13 May 1937 when he bought the land in Newbattle Terrace. The cinema was opened on 31 January 1938 originally seating 1300. It was designed by architect Thomas Bowhill Gibson in an Art Deco style.The cinema, one of only two family run cinemas in Scotland has only been forced to close twice. The first occasion was in September 1939, when there were fears over air raids at the start of World War Two. However, the Dominion reopened a week later due to public demand. The second time, in 2020 as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.The cinema has had planned closures on three further occasions; in 1972, 1980 and 1998, each time to add more screens. The cinema still runs today as a four-screen venue, and in 1993 it was protected as a category B listed building. It is still run by the Cameron family.

Church Hill is a street and small surrounding area in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Church Hill Theatre is a Category B listed pink sandstone former church and current theatre venue owned by the Edinburgh City Council. Built originally as Morningside Free Church, the council purchased it in 1960. After undergoing an extensive refurbishment, it re-opened in August 2006. It is managed by the team operating the Assembly Rooms.

Myreside Stadium is a sports ground in Edinburgh, Scotland. Often simply known as Myreside, Watsonians RFC have used this venue on the east side of Myreside Road as their home ground for rugby union matches since 1933. Edinburgh Rugby used it for some home matches 1996–2002 an again in 2017 and 2018; this included Pro12, later Pro14 and European Rugby Challenge Cup matches. A main stand is positioned along the west side of the grass pitch, with floodlights around the ground. Ahead of the Edinburgh Rugby team's return to play home matches at the stadium, temporary stands were installed to increase seating capacity to 13,799.
