Municipality of Kobarid

Kobarid (pronounced [kɔbaˈɾiːt] ; Italian: Caporetto; Friulian: Cjaurêt; German: Karfreit) is a settlement in Slovenia, the administrative centre of the Municipality of Kobarid. Kobarid is known for the 1917 Battle of Caporetto, where the Italian retreat was documented by Ernest Hemingway in his novel A Farewell to Arms. The battle is well documented in the museum in the centre of Kobarid. The museum won a Council of Europe award in 1993.

The Italian Charnel House, Kobarid (Italian: Sacrario militare di Caporetto; Slovene: Italijanska kostnica nad Kobaridom) is an Italian military shrine in Kobarid, Slovenia. Sited on the battlefield of Caporetto, it houses the remains of 7,014 Italians who fell during the battles of the Isonzo.

Drežniške Ravne (pronounced [ˈdɾeːʒniʃkɛ ˈɾáːwnɛ]; Italian: Raune di Dersenza) is a settlement in the Municipality of Kobarid in the Littoral region of Slovenia. The local church is dedicated to Saint Matthew and dates to 1511. The church itself with some of its furnishings was damaged in an earthquake in 1998, but this also revealed traces of late Gothic frescos on the walls.

Drežnica (pronounced [ˈdɾeːʒnitsa]; Italian: Dresenza) is a village in the Municipality of Kobarid in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is located above the Soča River on a small plateau under Mount Krn. Together with the neighboring settlements of Koseč, Drežniške Ravne, Jezerca, and Magozd, it has around 565 inhabitants.

Smast (pronounced [ˈsmaːst]) is a village on the left bank of the Soča River in the Municipality of Kobarid in the Littoral region of Slovenia.
